Xbox |OT| Power Your Dreams

Do we know if this is supported via local streaming? And can we switch back and forth between dev mode and normal mode? I am so tempted

Dev mode is super easy to use, though it has (or had?) a one time $20 activation cost. After that, you can switch between modes freely and it only really requires a reboot.

Unsure about streaming.

So here's God of War running on Xbox Series X...

So Xbox does better Playstation BC than the PS5 itself?

Thats amazing. What consoles can it emulate?

Anything supported by retroarch can be emulated by any Xbox console from One onwards, just Series S and X have a powerful enough CPU to actually take full advantage of it at higher resolution multipliers.

So far old consoles like NES, SNES, Saturn, PS1, PSP, GameCube, Dreamcast and Wii all seem to be supported, with PS2 support getting added soon.

From the interview on not having first party exclusives available at launch...

"I’m incredibly excited about the lineup, not only of Xbox Game Studios, but we’ve obviously also announced our intent to acquire ZeniMax and Starfield and great games that Todd [Howard] and the team are working on, that people are going to go play on their Xbox."

... because they are Xbox exclusive.

What's retroarch and how do I get it on my XSX?

Your console needs to have dev mode enabled, it's an app on the MS store and has a one time $20 charge (or it used to)

Retroarch is an emulation frontend that can be run in Xbox dev mode.

This guy explains it well and there's a ton of guides online

I don't remember if V-sync was on as default, but with it off the game looked terrible with probably the worst case of tearing I have ever witnessed.

Speaking of tearing in AC: Valhalla - tried to walk around with a torch in all kinds of environments and I still see no tearing.

Can dev mode use KODI or something that can play movies at 23.997FPS with LPCM audio? That would be pretty amazing, and I could finally put away my Pi3.

The Raven Remastered
Bleed 2
Saints Row: Get out of hell
Stacking

Bleed 2 and Stacking are fine indie games, even if the first has a very old Newgrounds look to it, don't know about the other two.

Makes sense, Xbox lost a lot of ground last gen with many big and indie developers ignoring the Xbox One, if they need to buy studios to get games, well, may as well make them exclusive or at least not come out to PS5.

When they get Bethesda, they will get a few great studios, with Zenimax they will have the guys who worked Doom, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Dishonored, the last Prey game and more alongside their studios already, and there are some great ones there, of course, the games will sadly take a while and one can only hope Microsoft can actually use the talent they have.

Just saying, their track record isn't always the best, Rare since purchased by MS has made one popular game that is well liked, Sea Of Thieves, everything else is just games that got ignored, a sequel to Banjo that wasn't liked and collections or ports of their old games, hope something similar doesn't happen to other developers they buy.

Oh well, at least Rare is doing Everwild, but i don't think they have actually done anything regarding gameplay yet.

I have 2 hours free right now and I would like to play Halo 3 campaign - Heroic. I'm on PC, where do I find others and how do I invite them to my game?

Just want to say i got a Xbox Series X as a gift, first time i have a Xbox, and Game Pass is amazing, i also really love Quick Resume, oh, someone is calling?

Well, i will just get out of this AAA game, and then come back and play like nothing happened, and it does that with 5 games, also, took the chance to play some games i maybe wouldn't have tried if not for Game Pass.

Like racing games, the last time i played them i was pratically a kid, but tastes change so i decided to try Burnout Paradise Remastered, it's pretty damn good, Hotshot Racing is also fun and i am downloading Forza Horizon 4 as we speak.

I do notice one thing, racing games have their own mechanics and i find myself hitting walls a lot, not getting 1st or having trouble with drifting every now and then, the games are still fun, but playing makes it clear i am a total newcomer to the genre.

So you’ve never played MS first parties at all? If so I’m jealous. Sounds like you’ll love horizon

Missed opportunity to ask about the Series S units still available in Finland

It's still widely available here too, the price is actually further away than it should be and XSS is cheaper, if I use the classic form USD = EUR + 21% VAT...

I have received my Series X a couple days ago and everything has been awesome.

Setting up the console was quick and easy, I found that the Xbox app was a pretty neat idea and it worked perfectly.
I plugged my external HD and saw all my games appearing in the dashboard. Launching whatever game has it download my saves from the cloud.

This is what I call a great user experience.

Console is quiet.

Also got the Sega Sonic Blue Controller, can't wait to play some Sonic with it ! I have Unleashed to try...

I have been playing Bloodstained since I got the console. I had already played both Curse of the Moon games (they are awesome games). I think that Iga really delivered on his promise with these games, and deserves great respect. This man know how to manage a video-game development project, even if he did take more time than estimated of course. But it turned out really well.

Bloodstained is great fun so far, a true Igavania experience. It plays perfectly well, runs smoothly, loading times are non-existent.

Great experience. Can't wait to try some other games, such as FF XV and Code Vein, to see how the loadings are improved on these.

Nope, neither Halo or Gears Of War until now, still have to try Halo, but thanks to Game Pass i have been playing some Gears Tactics on the side.

It's crazy that these games are just there on Game Pass for 10 to 12 bucks(Ultimate user here) and as first party titles, will probably be there for years, makes me happy that MS is buying Zenimax and getting some great studios out of it, even if the games will take some years to be made, if the deal goes through...well, Deathloop may take till 2022 to come out to Xbox but at least i won't have to pay 70 bucks for it.

Also, learnt you can also kinda pre-order games but not really?

Downloaded Call Of The Sea since it looked like a fun walking simulator with puzzles and the game hasn't come out yet, the Xbox even told me to wait a little and quiet my excitement, so games that aren't released yet can also go on Game Pass which is...wow.
