Hallow,

We saw Timothy Dalton appear as a villain in Hot Fuzz.

Would you like to see a former Bond being a villain / mentor in a future title? It might be a cameo or new 007 gets support from older Batman type figure. They could play Q for lolz.

Thread is sponsored by Sony Vaio, Omega and Aston Martin.

Thank.

There were plans to get Sean Connery back on two separate occasions, for the 40th and 50th anniversary movies. Die Another Day was going to have a casino scene where Bond encountered his father, played by Connery, at one of the tables. Director Lee Tamahori, originator of the idiotic 'Bond is a codename' theory that has stunk up the place ever since, thought it would be cool - note that this is the same guy who thought a CGI bullet in the gunbarrel sequence and the infamous CGI windsurfing sequence were also cool. Fortunately, nobody else did and the idea was nixed. In Skyfall, an early draft of the script had the eponymous home being a retirement house for 00 Agents and a former agent played by Connery would have helped Bond fight off Silva. That idea was ditched and Connery was considered to instead play the role of Kincade, the Skyfall housekeeper, in the final draft (which pretty much everyone assumed because Albert Finney looked a fair bit like Connery in the part and had lines like "Welcome to Scotland"), but Sam Mendes - who confirmed the rumour - said it was ruled out because he thought it would break the audience's immersion in the film.

Another interesting Bond film cameo that never was: Grace Jones, Mayday in 1985's A View To A Kill, was set to pop up in No Time To Die until the very last minute, but she quit because she wanted a bigger part (possibly as big as the black dildo she took into her sex scene with Roger Moore to annoy him). She was set to play the owner of the bar in Jamaica where Bond and Felix go to talk, and would have, ahem, 'distracted' Logan Ash (Billy Magnussen) while he tried to listen in. The bar was inevitably going to be called Mayday's despite the Craig timeline being separate to the other Bonds', meaning Craig's Bond never met the original Mayday. That said, such inconsistency didn't stop them including a portrait of Robert Brown's M in the film, or Bond having his Aston V8 from The Living Daylights.

I say we get all the surviving James Bond actors to reprise their roles as retired 007 agents living on an MI6 retirement island full of bikini models and martinis, that subsequently gets found out by a shadowy organization that plans to kidnap every former 007 agent to auction off to the highest bidder for elaborate and easily escapable slow painful death.

And the only one that can save them is the daughter of one of the bikini models.

NO PAIN TRANCE CONTINUE
He is in the background as a chef making a potato salad type of thing?

Picture this;

Whoever plays Bond (no clue) walks into a silent hotel restroom to freshen up. Whilst doing so you hear a groan, silence, a flush, and out walks Sean Connery.

Nods to Bond with a facial expression that's meant to convey a greeting with no hint of shame after leaving without washing his hands.

Silence, the door closes.

Bond stares in the mirror expression less and leaves and the movie continues.

I like your example as well!

If it's going more light and campy and set in the future I'd like to see them in the background as actors in other movies on monitors. Make it a trend for people to watch old films in the setting. Layer Cake is 20 years old.

We need a former 007 I'm thinking brosnan as the new bad guy. I know as has something similar with Goldeneye and 006 but he wasn't a former bond actor.

I'll continue with the Bond trivia: Sean Bean tested to play Bond in The Living Daylights, and again in Goldeneye. It's possible he lost out to Brosnan both times, as Brosnan was originally hired for Living Daylights but his TV show, Remington Steele, was renewed at the last moment and Bond producer Cubby Broccoli refused to let him play both characters at the same time. The part went to Timothy Dalton instead. Bean was subsequently hired as GoldenEye's villain on the back of his second Bond test. There's a rumour he wanted to play Bond with a Yorkshire accent (ignoring that Timothy Dalton had already accidentally done so in the previous movie: "Things were about to get nast-eh.") which has never been confirmed but is believable and funny enough that I'd like to imagine it's true.

Somewhat similarly, Michael Billington was strongly linked to the Bond role in the Seventies but eventually played the small part of Major Anya Amasova's doomed boyfriend in The Spy Who Loved Me. The scene in which both characters are introduced plays on Billington's links with the Bond role, starting out with the very traditionally Bondian scenario - Bond is introduced in the same way in the same film - of a secret message being received while he is in bed with a beautiful woman (Anya), only for it to then be revealed that the message is for Anya - aka, Agent XXX - instead.

So I read the title quick and thought it read, Would you like to cameo in a 007s future Bond film. I was like "F' yeah!" And voted. Then, as I was reading the posts realized I misread the title. Dude, if I would have hit the 1 Billion PowerBar, a thought I had was how would I go about forming some kind of Justice League team or something similar.

Lol how would one go about that. Ad in the back of Soldier of Fortune magazine? Craig's List meet up?

For the love of god please bring back Pierce Brosnan. He will always be the best Bond to me, but that’s probably because that’s who I grew up watching in my younger years as 007. Still, gotta love him.

He was the best Bond stuck with some of the worse written Bond films (except Goldeneye). The Brosnan era was a weird one overall, like the producers didnt really know what direction to take the series in. It felt like they kept trying unsuccessfully to emulate the over the top Bonds of the 80s.

I agree. I kinda wish Brosnan would have got Craig’s films instead. I love Craig, but Brosnan always made the best out of the worst. He had the aura of what a Bond should have.

I liked the "Bond as cover ID" idea, particularly if it was created off the back of Sean Connery's actual James Bond person. Having a legacy of code named agents stretching back decades allows for interactor connective tissue (like keeping Dench as M around) but also allows for more variation between Bonds without having to deal with all the backstory.

Just so long as they stop making every film so damned personal. The entire Craig era is so mired in his personal drama it would be hard to service it in a later bond and all we ever got was "I'm gonna be Bond" for the first 2 and then "I don't wanna be Bond anymore...." for THREE FILMS! Let's take a breath and get back to the middle age of Bond where he isn't being constantly questioned by his leadership or wanting to GTFO and having to be dragged back into the game kicking and screaming.

I would have loved to have seen Sean Connery in Skyfall, i think there was a rumour at the time that he was going to appear but for what ever reason it didn't happen.

Missread title.

Yeah I would like it.
Would be like who is that. Then a few films later.
Yes makes sense, but then would that mean the 007 James Bond as a code identity be cannon. Like many different James Bonds 007 and not one continuous bond throughout all the movies ?
