Will we ever see an Abrahamic God of War?

Hindu Gods would be cool. Persona games use bunch of them, but for something like God Of War might not work because Hindu religion is still very active and would upset alot of ppl.

Could go for chinese or japanese mythology. Alot of creatures, monsters and Gods from them.

Yeah I think they have to go for religions that almost no one practices anymore. Sometimes depictions of certain Abrahamic figures leads angry people to separate you from your head.

Egyptian might be an option, traditional Chinese myths perhaps. It would be really cool seeing Hindu gods in a big budget game like this but that's also practiced by a lot of people so might be a no, but then again some Anime's have already done it (Shiva in Record of Ragnarok for example)

the word god is so casually used people forgot what it really means. the Creator of the whole existence. not just anything average people find more capable than themselves.

That could be very cool actually, but it does run into the problem of being a major modern religion rather than strictly an ancient one.
Hindu is ancient but still adhered to. it's so fundamental to a billion people that the country and culture are named after it.

Also GAF a few hours later: "Which sequel to a franchise that already has about 9 games do you want before we've even played the latest sequel!?!?"

Today’s trailer and subsequent revelation this would be the end of the Norse installments got me wondering where things go next. Is it too far fetched for them to dabble in Abrahamic mythology? Can you imagine that shit? Kratos whooping up on Jesus or Mohammed?
Rather see an Egyptian God of War.

Also, Jesus would whoop Kratos Ass.
People would get offended and they are honestly very boring.

Buddhism, Shinto, Egyptian, etc. works a lot better. Wasn't Egypt and Japan hinted in the original?

Egypt or Japan is next.

There's a sign in GoW 2018 with symbols for Greek, Norse, Egyptian, and Japanese mythology.

2 down, 2 more to go.

lol certainly not in this lifetime.

It wouldn't make sense for a God of War game imo. Not much of a pantheon in Abrahamic religions. You'd just have their one respective god and his angel messengers.
Egyptian, Aztec, Mayan, Hindu myths all have far more interesting potential.

Mayan-inspired GOW would be pretty metal. Especially with the ritual human sacrifice stuff.

Nope, it’s okay to make art about killing other religions gods but not the popular ones. I would love to see it tho. Would be amazing cause Abrahamic religions have such good symbolism. Japanese art flirts with it a ton.

It's almost as if everyone here has a different viewpoint on things and that not all of us are going to agree with topics that were made hours ago. Whodathunkit!?

You don't need god or jesus, there are tons of angels and demons in that religion. Not to mention satan.

Pretty sure a lot of media and games already tackled that as well.

In Record of Ragnarok, a manga series that has notable humans fighting against the Gods Shiva was in it and portrayed rather well.

Indian's still went fucking crazy over it saying it was disrespectful. You think Kratos stomping Hindu God's would go well? lol.
