Overall, probably Max Payne.
Then, definitely the Batman games (Arkham Asylum, City, Origins, probably Arkham Knight too).
Then GTA III, VC, SA if it counts as trilogy -- people already are mentioning them so, I agree.
Honourable mentions:
- Monkey Island 1,2,3
- Uncharted Series
- Gabriel Knight 1,2,3

Dark Souls + The Witcher
The first witcher game is rough to play. Not just gameplay/combat but story has weird pacing and doesn't feel like a game about a witcher at times.
Dark Souls 2 gets a lot of hate but that game kicks ass. some bosses were complete push overs so i wish they were more challenging and the controls/combat mechanics feel strange at first but otherwise the game is a load of fun.

Game had some pretty interesting ideas, but the overall game-design is poor. It could benefit a lot from a remake.
