This dude is just saying the SSD has PS3’s Cell architecture. Therefore should have the abilty to run the games better. Also improving the loading times of PS1 & PS2 games.
Im guessing through a update? Since there already is emulated PS2 games on the platform, I dont think theres a difference.
I think Sony is just reusing technology they invested so much in, and has nothing to do with PS1-3 games. I too made a post a year ago when Cerny revealed the I/O’s cell like structure, that it was to play PS3 games too.
