What game are you currently playing?

I used fists in SoP...they were beast. Spear is fun for poking people to death.

Is the gear improved in Nioh 2 in the sense they don't throw a lot of shit at you, or is it more or less the same?

That's fine. Good luck with the boss. I think you're fighting Tiamat if my memory is correct. That boss kicked my ass for a while. I think it was the first real skill check
Lol it's not even Tiamat, it's the Chimera at the end of the side mission immediately after him. I didn't have trouble with Tiamat but this guy keeps murdering me. Idk if it's because I'm using a low-level job though, I'm actually not sure how that affects base stats (maybe I should actually pay attention to the RPG mechanics more but I just want to beat up bad monsters)

Nioh 2 is the same in terms of loot. You get a lot and basically trash 99.9% of it. You only really get specialised setups in the harder difficulties after you finish the game once.

I am having a hell of a time finding a game that sticks, rn. I played in vr over the weekend and that was more engaging than I've been finding flat games, lately. But I loaded up my save in paper beast, and was having a good time only to reach the end after 45 minutes lol.

I went to take a look at battlezone 98 the other night only to find that emulated mouse cursors are invisible in kde wayland sessions? wtf just my luck. I'm surprised I didn't notice before now because I've been on this distro for a month (previous were always x11 not wayland). Anyway that spoiled my battlezone. All I had to do was log out and log into x11 but the moment was gone lol. Maybe I'll try that again because i remember it getting rave reviews when it came out in 98 and people speak very highly of this rerelease.

17 hours into Cyberpunk.

Still buggy as shit, but nowhere near the travesty they put out at launch.

It‘s a decent open world RPG.

I had trouble with Tiamat ha ha. I think I beat the chimera but there is probably more than one in the game. It's been a while since I played but I think low level jobs are feasible. I beat the final boss with white mage (and something else), which isn't a particularly advanced job.

Thanks for the Nioh 2 advice. I'm on the final mission of Nioh 1 base game now. I might do the dlc before moving onto a palate cleanser before Nioh 2

I recently completed Yakuza 4 remastered, I found the story to be very captivating, if not the best out of the series so far. I don't get why some people say skip Yakuza 3 4 and 5, and just read the summary, the games are brilliant. Will move on to Yakuza 5 after I'm done with Horizon Forbidden West that I just started.

It's only redditors and 0babbys (more or less the same thing) that say to skip Y3, 4 & 5. 5 is the best in terms of side content, but weaker story (imo). I took a break after beating four but I plan on getting Ishin

5 having the best side content, I can't say I really care, I do some of it, but the older remastered game are quite janky in controls, so I tend to stick to the main story. I absolutely loved Kiwami 2 in the new engine though, I did a lot of side content in it, so I'm looking forward to Yakuza 6 and 7.

You're really powering through Nioh huh? It's a looooong game. The DLCs altogether are like another three full chapters on top too. I can't remember how good they are tbh. But when you play Nioh 2 please say hello to the giant bull demon for me, lol

And my problem with SoP was that my level 2 Dark Knight sucks compared to level 30 Warrior. War Cry is a good skill, the Dark Knight one less so. The base stats are basically the same except HP but I wonder if the stat bonuses on each tree don't carry along like the combo abilities do? Or if there's some invisible level scaling? I felt much more powerful, didn't even use a single potion

Talking of Yakuza I loved Zero but I could never get into the other games... the main stories are always way too convoluted for such a long game with so many distractions, and the sidequests start to blend together after a while. Most of them aren't that interesting even if there are some great ones. I did like in Like a Dragon though where you're taking odd jobs from the Japanese Jobcentre that always end up in some weird gangster shit. I should go back to that sometime

I played Nioh originally on ps4 in 2018 but never did the dlc. I'm powering through it now on the Remastered set to get to the dlc and Nioh 2. If I'm too weak to do the dlc for Nioh 1 I might just finish the epilogue, play Fatal Frame V and move onto Nioh 2 before Wo Long comes out. I mainly used the spear and put most of the stats into that.

Ahh okay. It's been a while since I played SoP, I can't really remember. If we had done co-op I would have just punched my way through shit.

I did all the Yakuza series up to 5 and got burnt out. The stories were getting increasingly ridiculous. I remember enjoying 0, Kiwami 2 and 3 a lot though. I did try Like a Dragon, played about 10 hours of it

Where did you get up to? There's a sewer dungeon that goes on fucking forever, I had to give in at that point. Somehow, braindead brawler combat is more tolerable to me than braindead JRPG combat... Actually no, I like Neptunia, obviously I'm fine with braindead combat. But it has to be fast and Like a Dragon's combat has a glacial pace

E: oh yeah how are those Team Ninja games on PS5? I played the SoP demo on PS5 and it was blurry shit, I think they've improved it though? PC was bad too until they added DLSS.

I flew into hurricane ian yesterday right at peak time at 4pm est with a Super Hornet jet. Hard to describe the beauty of the clouds and sky - but the terror of this happening in the real world at the same time. This game is the only true next gen experience in my opinion utilizing tech never seen in games before. Simply unbelievable.

Castlevania Symphony of the Night [Playstation 1]
The PS1 version is still the best for optimal music and image quality. SOTN oozes details over every inch, even stuff like small mice roaming around an attic, or animated vultures on a spire. These are details the devs didnt have to make - but the entire game overflows with. On top of perfect controls, music, level design, enemies, secrets, and bosses - it will forever be one of gaming's best...

I was going to spend my time trying out some mods for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Mega Mix+ but the added songs seem to use Switch/Nintendo input icons. Dudes, I'm about thirty years too old to even use a Nintendo Switch or indeed any Nintendo console, let alone know what the buttons are. Even my 3y/o nephew would be confused by this shit, and he's the exact target audience for the Switch. Ugh.

Instead I've been playing more Rabi-Ribi. It's a Metroidvania where the actual exploration part is pretty good, but the boss fights are epic. They have bullet hell moves, it's all about pattern recognition and dodging as much as you can. It's also extremely cute. Big fan of this game so far.

I had just gotten the 4th party member.

I think SoP has had multiple patches to improve the game. It's fine now. The Niohs and Ninja Gaiden Master Collection are good.

Ok so Yossy you should get back to Like a Dragon and play a little further until you get to the sewer dungeon. Then we can have rapport over how bad it is. I know it seems like a lot of effort just for internet clout with someone who is considered "clinically retarded" but still!

OHHHH is the Ninja Gaiden Master Collection any good? Obvs there were complaints because it was the cucked Sigma versions but I've been considering buying the collection anyway. But on the other hand I've also been thinking about emulating Ninja Gaiden Black instead. I haven't played the original Xbox version since way back when it released.

I've been struggling to play anything after Resident Evil. I was looking forward to the port of Valkyrie Profile but that's been delayed. I bounced off of Astral Chain and started Metroid Dread, I played it for about an hour but I dunno, maybe I'm not in the right mindset for it. I started playing Skies of Arcadia for the first time in 15 years on a whim and have been enjoying that, good JRPG's hold up.

kirby and the rainbow curse, wii u.

controls sometimes hurt my brain in a good way. great music. visually, it's cool how everything looks like it's made of real clay.

to play the game, you have to look at the tablet though. i have the TV on too (for the music), but im looking at the tablet the whole time... feels dumb.

What time is it?
Sunk some time into Splatoon 3. I finished the first four areas and it is kind of disappointed. The bosses are great as usual but most of the levels feel like extended tutorials.

Will probably never go back to like a dragon but i might get ishin. Sigma 1 is more or less the same as black with a few extra stages as Rachael. Sigma 2 is much different from NG2 but still a good game. Razor's Edge is the weakest in the set but the best possible version of NG3. It's still decent

Finished all the Steam achievements for Final Fantasy VII. That was more time-consuming than I had expected.

Now, I have to make the choice of stopping my Final Fantasy marathon, or carrying on to possibly the worst game in the franchise.

Finished Resident Evil Directors Cut and this time with the good ending by saving both Barry and Chris. Directors Cut is not that different from the base game. The enemies are multiplied, new costumes for both characters, a couple of new camera angles and that´s it. I´m disappointed that this version is still the censored cut that was released in EU. If you do a Directors Cut, it´s supposed to come included with all the gore. The uncut intro adds so much more to the overall atmosphere than the crappy black and white shit we got here in Europe. Do they think we´re some pussies who can´t handle blood and guts? Do we need protection from the awful world outside? I can´t fucking stand censorship. It´s disgusting. It´s a strange decision considering Resident Evil is very gory where you can blow off the heads of zombies and shooting off their limbs. Anyway, besides that the game is still a classic. It´s dated on many fronts but I think it still holds its own just because how well made the foundation is. Even if the franchise rose to greater heights this is where it all began. Resident Evil will always hold a special place in my heart.

Is 'That Pure Potato'
Haven Park on my Steam Deck. Looks great, runs at a solid 60, has great audio for such a simple game. It's serving as a good alternative to Stardew Valley now that I am done with that. And only $8.99 on Steam.

Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War. I only like Treyarch when it comes to COD now. Although I really like MW3 from IW, so in 2 or 3 years I'll most likely buy it. Depends if Activision puts in the other guys or not to make a different game.

Maybe it was a stylistic decision, 'cause like you said, they show it all in gameplay anyway.

Playing Valkyrie Elysium at ch.4 and I’m enjoying the game so far.

I’m not gonna pretend this is greatest game ever made but I feel the reviews have been pretty harsh on this game.

Finished the RE4 (Steam/HD Project). It's been a several years since I finished the game... and with the anticipation for the RE4 remake - I wanted to refresh my memory.
With recent RTX remix tool announcement, I wonder how this game may look with such remix? (Some proper lighting enhancements would do wonders, I think)

Anyway, kinda difficult to see if all of this long, epic game is going to make into the Remake, of we take RE2 / RE3 remakes as any sign.
Watching the RE4 Remake trailer once again, and looks like Ganados still dressed like they live in 1800s, as well as the monks are there... (which means castle is also there for certain extent)
Perhaps then the military complex area or maybe perhaps entire Krauser section to be obmitted, maybe?

I hope they have Krauser in the game. I would think big parts be taken out like the castle of a ton of guys after you and the running away from giant statue parts.

Started Tunic on PS5 today.

I got the sword and I'm exploring here and there.

The manual is a brilliant idea.
I have read it has some tough puzzles though I have yet to encounter any.

I like it a lot so far.
I hope the world is not massive as the gameplay could become tiresome.

House of Ashes on PS5 in Performance mode - Really enjoying it - I liked Man of Medan, Little Hope wasnt great but House of Ashes I am really liking so far.

Metal Hellsinger on Gamepass on PC - just finished this and had a really great time - awesome original tracks and the flow you can get into feels great. I don't thikn the rhythm part worked very well on the bosses though as you sort of lose momentum easily.

After almost 3 months off gaming I booted Syphon Filter 2 on the PS5.

Decent port actually and the game itself is one of my favourite classics. I looooooooovvvvveeeee htese old games that had short but super varied missions. Going back and forth between Gabe and Lian is so cool. And the story is amazing.

Censorship is not a stylistic decision. It's a bunch of moralists sitting on their high horses deciding what's good for the general population. Trying to be sensible. They can suck my sensible balls. The original US version got the short stick of the end too with the censored intro upon release 96. Only in Japan was it left uncut. The Directors Cut restored the intro in the US but somehow it didn't here in the EU. Probably the UK or Germanys decision. Their boards of classification were notorious for cutting and censor games and movies in the 80s and 90s. Some properties even got banned. These countries are probably still at it. Weak pussies the lot of them.

Just wrapped up Gears of War 5, which really picked up at the end. All in all I’m glad I went back to it.

Went back to Industria and I’m hoping to see that to the end. Not a fan of the typewriter game save system. It’s 2022, why?? Should be save whenever.

Also fired up Days Gone. We’ll see how far I get with it because I know zombie wolves will scare the shit out of me.
