It's a year of few games of the type that would normally be in competition for GOTY awards. But, there's still many promising titles and a lot of variety. So, what titles have your attention?

Darkest Dungeon 2 is likely going to be my most anticipated as I loved the first game. But, I'm must admit I'm also hyped for Battlefield and Back 4 Blood even though multiplayer games tend to feel too stressful for me at this point in life. And Diablo 2 is one of my all time favorites so I might try the remake to see if I'm still into that type of game.

Some other games that didn't quite make the poll:

12 Minutes
Aliens: Fireteam Elite
No More Heroes 3
Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/ Shining Pearl
Super Monkey Ball
Sable
Wario Ware Get it Together
Life is Strange: True Colours
Mario Party Superstars
Advance Wars
Pathfinder: War of the Righteous
Humankind
Darkest Dungeon 2

Honestly not that many... Diablo 2R because it looks pretty crisp & polished. Blizzard games do look and play well for the most part. Halo & Metroid because I'm a pretty big fan of both, and look forward to seeing what they came up with.

I usually have a wait and see approach for new games.

Halo Infinite - been 6 long years since the last Halo. Crazy we had to wait this long.
Flight Sim console - a true next gen showcase. Still hard to believe this game does what it does. Cant wait to discover the earth.
Battlefield 2042 - its looking like Battlefield is back.

Super Mario World - 16:9 widescreen hack, on real SNES hardware. Still in a semi beta with more releases on the way.
Metroid Dread - still not 100% sold on this. No clue why it looks worse than Super and the GBA games.
Forza Horizon 5 - keeping arcade racing alive. Pure fun.

Blaster Master Zero 3, Psikyo Shmup Collection, and Hades - I waited for the Xbox versions.

Battlefield
Deathloop
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles
Dying Light 2
Lost Judgment
Kena

Not an option on the poll:
Fracked (PSVR)

Should note that there are lots of other titles in the poll that I plan to get later on at a cheaper price/when I catch up on my backlog more.

Horizon: Forbidden West is my no.1 most anticipated game this year, followed by The Darkest Dungeon 2 and Ascent this week.

I'm also there on day one for both GoT and Death Stranding director's cuts and that could be it for the PS5, I doubt Little Devil Inside will be out this year. Maybe Kena and maybe Dying Light 2.

Going for the Halo campaign and some back4blood on gamepass and finally checking out Hades. Definitely Scorn if it's still coming this atumn.

Some great-looking indies in the meantime, Eldest Souls, 12 minutes, plenty more still scheduled for 2021 but with no release date.

Live from NeoGAF, it's Friday Night!
Diablo 2: Resurrected

I'm gonna lock myself up in the living room for days when this releases.

Otherwise i hope Sony still has something to anounce with a release date of 2021. But i'm sure that it is unlikely.

I voted Halo Infinite and Metroid but since I only have a Switch, Metroid.

Maybe I'll get an Xbox before Halo. Or a Playstation. Fuck I don't know.
I'm in the same boat as you, lol. The Series X is just as hard to find as a PS5. But playing the Halo MCC on the PC has been pretty awesome, and I actually prefer the keyboard + mouse over the console controller for straight FPS games. Sounds like Halo is coming to the PC at the same time.

I don't have a PC as well. Thing is, I'm still doubting that 343i can pull this one off. They're simply not a good developer for Halo, but I hope I'm wrong.

Basically, if Halo Infinite is that good, I will go for an Xbox. If not, PS it is.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Not intrested in the rest or I don't believe in a 2021 release.

Also can't wait for the Steam Deck

EDIT:
Didn't know "The Ascent" until now. Watched the trailer, looks pretty decent.

What a shit year for games. I’m sitting on the fence about Deathloop. I’m probably only going to buy Lost Judgment, and even that is a maybe.

Probably won’t buy anything new until Elden Ring.

is on perm warning for being a low level troll
For me

Neo - The World Ends With You (PS4, 27/07/21)

The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles (Switch, 27/07/21)

No More Heroes 3 (Switch, 27/08/21)

Tales of Arise (PS5, 10/09/21)

Lost Judgment (PS5, 24/09/21)

Age of Empires IV (PC, 28/10/21)

Shin Megami Tensei V (Switch, 12/11/21)

And then there is some stuff that hasn't got a date but I'm hoping is coming out this year, like Stray on PS5.

Top 5 most hyped for:

1. Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania
2. Metroid Dread
3. Lost Judgement
4. Battlefield 2042
5. SMTV

Halo is winning the poll? that's not acceptable! /s

games i'm wanting to play the rest of the year:

Battlefield 2042 - i hope it's good.
Diablo 2 - never played the original but have been wanting to since getting bored of Diablo 3. been holding out for a remaster and it's coming so yeah...
Halo Infinite - probably most excited for this
Shin Megami Tensei V - never played one before. only Persona games. not sure i'm gonna like SMTV but will try it.

Haggard

Horizon FW - (The first game was one of only 2 games ever that I liked enough to platinum it)
Battlefield 2042 - I give it the benefit of the doubt. Portal mode has incredible potential.
Back 4 Blood - I Loved L4D
Diablo 2 Resurrected - Not sure I should start this. I spent ~300 hours or so on the game back then. This could spiral out of control fast :D
Psychonauts 2 and The Ascent are on my "maybe" list.

jroc74

Phone reception is more important to me than human rights
Deathloop
Far Cry 6
Guardians of the Galaxy
Horizon Forbidden West
Kena
Metroid Dread
Forza 5
Halo

Metroid.....I finally got a Switch, and I liked what I saw from Metroid.

Not really a Halo fan, but I have to see what they improved, and see if this Halo actually holds my attention.

The rest of the games I listed are just obvious reasons.

Getting my 2nd ps5, and any of the series console. I cant play those games, without those, or I have to stick to my old gen consoles. PC is off the limit for gaming for now.
