WB Changes Batgirl's Gotham Knights Biography Following Criticism

I mean it's just a line of text, hardly a big change to the game
But the complaint itself is already really stupid.

What harmful trope of diabled people? Who bases their world view on a superhero videogames?

"Hey man haven't heard from you in a while, how have you been?"
"Had a bad year man, got into an accident and now I'm in a wheelchair"
"Oh I'm sorry to hear, guess you'll just have to train really hard for a few months to get out of it"
"What? no man it's not the sort of injury you recover from"
"Lol sure it is, you just have to train hard....I read about it in the bio of a character in a multiplayer batman game"
Sounds like a conversation straight from the pages of Ree. And then one or both members get banned.

I wouldn't have given any money before for this game, plus I won't give it now knowing how stupid the developers are

Good Video game character bio’s example:

I didn't play Odyssey or Valhalla but considering the previous games, she did an awful job, since lots of artifacts ended up in templar's hands, saved only by the player character

Dr. Claus

Vincit qui se vincit
They changed a few words after someone - correctly - pointed out that the traditional injury Gordon has isn't getting cured with "gumption."

. . . so of course it's a big deal.

This is a series where a man dresses up as a bat and fights roided wrestlers, a killer clown, and has a secret cave filled with high end gadgets and vehicles.

Are you *seriously* trying to use logic here?

Warner Brothers Studios put out a press release this morning amid major complaints over Batgirl's character profile, and the revisions made to it. In a stunning and brave display of awareness and acknowledgement of their privilege, studio heads had this to say about their planned re-revisions:

"We're human. We mess up. We are fortunate to be white, rich, and able bodied. We've listened to the outpouring of concern on Twitter, and we've felt the vibrations from the thousands that have been literally shaking. Our original revision was to make it apparent that Batgirl had lots of struggles in her road to physical recovery, and it took intensive physical therapy and several surgeries. We felt initially that this was implied through context, but we've since realized that Arkham games are enjoyed by everyone, including those lacking reading comprehension and the clinically mentally retarded.

In light of this, we've made the following changes. This is a list of what's on the table so far, and is in no way complete. We shoot for the finish line at WB, and that's wherever our mob of fans decides to shift the goal post

-Batgirl profile now reflects that she had the intense therapy and surgeries, but decided to break her own back nae-naeing in solidarity with the disabled community. New gameplay features include a grappling hook and taser mounted combat wheelchair.

-We realized that a lot of people don't know how to read, so we hired the smooth voiced narrator from the Mass Effect Codex to read everything very slowly.

-We realize some of our fans don't have hands, so we've included a full 100% video playthrough with commentary by Markiplier.

We hope these changes make our next product in this storied IP more enjoyable for the diverse net of fans we've managed to catch over the years. WB, and Batman both acknowledge our advantageous place in society, and we prostrate ourselves before the ones that really matter: everyone else,"
