Lots of tearing in that PS5 chart, Series S has VRR so will have a better ride even with that version. Another one for Series X.

I can play it on either PS5 or XSS.
I guess PS5? Kinda hard to tell what's actually better, but I guess it's close enough that it doesn't matter that much.
So how far down the pecking order is "more stable frame rate"?More stable framerate on PS5
Bitch, I clearly said that Series X maintained 60fps better. Are you blind? You need to get Phil's cock out of your ass and stop attacking everyone at the slightest perception of grief against your plastic box. Pathetic Xdrone.
Actually , XSX has 59.66 while ps5 average is lower .. so XSX is more stable ..More stable framerate on PS5
I've somehow never seen that one lol. Hilarious.
Well, I don't agreesuper dated and mediocre seems like an unfair stretch... it's a beautiful game
Or it could be as simple as the PS5 version needing a patch like we have seen in previous games for either console. I don't see anyone can come to definitive conclusions from a single game when we've seen stuttering and tearing from both consoles in the past. As it is, the XSX version is the superior performing console version in this case and there is no arguing that.
They did a fantastic job with the implementation which I can't praise enough, especially when compared with other recent ports like Doom where they did the bare minimum. We have the DualSense, boys.
I really doubt they would bother to patch something that affects one scene of one level of the game. Even then it barely registers, other than people yelling at clouds.I don't disagree that a patch can/will fix things for the PS5. I wouldn't be surprised if the fix is simpler just a lower resolution, though, whatever is most within their available time and resources.
The animation is really, really dated. Especially the facial animation. I'm sure you can get some nice screenshots but to me it doesn't look great in motion. The kindest thing I can say about the graphics is that it's inconsistent. The lighting looks allright at times I guess.
Exactly. The art direction is very good. It's like there's no perspective with some of these takes. It's not dated, it's just low budget by a small team. This isn't a $200M Naughty Dog game with a thousand people working on it.
So how far down the pecking order is "more stable frame rate"?
- Resolution
- Frame rate
- Screen tearing
- "More stable frame rate" In other words, not being the lowest minimum rate?
Let me guess. For this game, "stable frame rate" is the most important factor this time.
Am I doing it right?
Yeah, 4K is nice but it's at the bottom of my list personally.Screen tearing and volatile frame rates are always going to be much more noticeable than adjusting resolution, at resolutions this high anyway.
Rasterization throughput was still higher on the One X: 4.4 Gtri/sec vs 3.6 Gtri/sec on Pro. So it makes sense.Remember the OMG PS4 Pro has 64 Render Output Units and X1X only has 32 Fortunately 32 RoPs was adequate for X1X and other "more important factors" like higher CU count, memory bandwidth and overall Teraflops ruled the day, Xbox One X takes the cake for performance all day long even if it only had half the RoPs.
They did, I actually felt the bush a the left side of the Dualsense as she brushed past it.They did a fantastic job with the implementation which I can't praise enough, especially when compared with other recent ports like Doom where they did the bare minimum.
The warring is ridiculous. Both consoles are very close but Sony needs to get on the vrr train and give the ability to force 120 hz like the series x does.

No reply from you, once again? What if someone has PS5 and XSS, but no VRR display? Now which version should they get?

It's a demanding game but I think they went with the wrong route here.
60fps adds very little to the experience in this game. A solid 30fps with max settings at native 4k.would have been much better.
They actually downgraded the visuals from the last gen versions to achieve 60fps.
I had the option to play it at 1440p 60fps or 4k 30fps and chose the latter.
The game is stunning in native 4k maxed out. They should have at least given people the option. But the fact that they reduced the settings from the last gen versions in order to get 60fps tells me this was a rushed port.
I can give you exact PS4 equivalent settings, if you want, you will have to tweak the ini file, as it's not possible to get exact match just from in-game settings.I just realised I have this on Steam via family sharing, so even though I got my free PS5 copy just there I'm gonna give it a go and see if I can do 4K30 maxed out (on a GTX 1080) without too much fucking around. Can you give me a rough idea of overkill settings that can be turned down without affecting IQ too much? I see on PCGamingWiki it has forced TAA, did you think it still necessary at 4K or did you disable it via ini?

As for TAA, I believe it's necessary even at 4K.

Its not hard to understand, in a game where you don't need fast reactions and a big part of the enjoyment is stopping to take in the scenery a higher framerate is almost meaningless compared to having a much higher resolution. Do you never stop and look at things in games?
*blows raspberry*
People have different priorities on what they do in games, maybe you always prefer to have lower input lag and smoother animations over a spatial resolution increase, but some people don't gaf about that. Pretending your opinion about fps is always objectively correct in every game makes you sound like a submental.
Must be a draw then.Virtually locked performance for both. Series X maintains 60fps slightly better than PS5 but has a minimum framerate drop to 48fps vs 53fps for PS5. PS5 also suffers more tearing than Series X.
What you mean better? And the PS5 has been getting better as well. Pretty much what happens when developers get more used to the hardware.
Oh god, not this againRasterization throughput was still higher on the One X: 4.4 Gtri/sec vs 3.6 Gtri/sec on Pro. So it makes sense.
However, PS5 GPU is capable of almost 9 Gtri/sec vs 7.3 Gtri/sec of Series X.
You got a problem?Oh god, not this again
I don't care about the reason? To me it looks dated. I'm not saying the game couldn't be enjoyable, but it's not like you play it for the graphics. Which you shouldn't do anyway. It's not dated, it's just low budget by a small team. This isn't a $200M Naughty Dog game with a thousand people working on it.
What you mean better?
Just chill out, this is all getting so tiresome. We all know both consoles have advantages and disadvantages, this tech stuff has been floating around for ages. It was interesting before we saw the games but now we can see how these consoles stack up in the games themselves. They are very close and both will improve as the generation unfolds, so enjoy it.You got a problem?

Can i ask what you played the game on because i played it on PC maxed out and the game is stunning.I don't care about the reason? To me it looks dated. I'm not saying the game couldn't be enjoyable, but it's not like you play it for the graphics. Which you shouldn't do anyway.
Of course a big budget game made by a big budget studio, made as a PS4 or PS5 exclusive is going to look much better. But still? It looks very, very dated to me.
It's more a question of how relevant is it at this kind of frame rate and resolutions? Sure there is a win, it's better with VRR, etc. but seriously it's not like the PS5 version was near Bloodborne (frame pacing issues) or Hitman 3 in some level on the series x (where it hovers in the 50s--constantly. If you don't have a VRR capable TV it's annoying compared to 60fps, but hardly a deal breaker, or even something worth arguing about).Screen tearing and volatile frame rates are always going to be much more noticeable than adjusting resolution, at resolutions this high anyway.
I'm playing the PS5 version and I never noticed any tearing. Framerate is also solid. You guys are too butthurt about 3% scenarios.
You probably don’t remember.I swear by now there must be more posts saying this right here than there is the posts that this is about.
I don't think his contract allows this
I'm chill, dude. What's your problem?
Good to see the fair moderating here.Bitch, I clearly said that Series X maintained 60fps better. Are you blind? You need to get Phil's cock out of your ass and stop attacking everyone at the slightest perception of grief against your plastic box. Pathetic Xdrone.
I'd add the caveat that it depends on the car.Not on the Nurburgring it won’t.
