It's neither WW nor in the UK 3:1UK or WW?
Does it matter? There is a reason Microsoft doesn’t release sales numbers anymore.UK or WW?
I remember I was told Gamepass increases game sales
I already miss Nathan Drake. He’s been my fave game character in a long time. I may be in the minority, but I’d be happy with a PS5 Uncharted game. Can you imagine how stonking the set pieces would be with the SSD?We got the money.

Dead cert Bo, they have to accept at some point.
Plus its the UK, and Metro is not even in the Top 10, which probably means the game literally sold a few thousand copies together lol.Argh, these fucking threads… Just an excuse for fanboys to fanboy.
Literally no one else cares how many physical copies of anything were sold in the UK. It’s representative of absolutely nothing meaningful, and in this case, it’s probably 77% of something like 15 total sales

I suppose with the decline in gaming stores, it isn’t a massive concern, however, it is difficult to get mindshare if you have no chart/store presence. Whether MS care or not is another story.Hell of a spread - though it is just physical. Last year the UK was 67% digital. With Xbox's push for Gamepass, I've personally bought more digital games than physical, despite preferring physical. I'm curious if Microsoft's focus on Gamepass has accelerated their platforms shift to digital, and how much - if any - impact this has on these types of physical game splits? With PlayStation now accounting for close to 4/5s of next-gen physical game sales, how long do Xbox games stay on the shelves or have their shelf space reduced to reflect this?
Is the complete edition on gamepass? Also is this the same as what came out on PC a bit ago? I already have it on PC
It wont really. This is just UK physical chart. I am more impressed 23% bought physical edition, considering most xbox players buy the digital edition, since its easy to get refund on Microsoft side, unlike PlayStation.it's going to get worse for 3rd party publishers on xbox unless MS pay them to release on gamepass
might make it even easier for Sony to get more exclusives
I don’t think you guys understand statistics. Nothing is getting worse its selling at a proper ratio to its market share. Did you expect the console with a 3:1 ratio to have less sales?it's going to get worse for 3rd party publishers on xbox unless MS pay them to release on gamepass
might make it even easier for Sony to get more exclusives
With that ratio in mind and given the splits we've seen so far I wonder what the cost of getting a 3rd party day one title on gamepass is ? It must be a huge amount there paying but at the end of the day who gives a fuck as long as the cost is being covered by ms .I don’t think you guys understand statistics. Nothing is getting worse its selling at a proper ratio to its market share. Did you expect the console with a 3:1 ratio to have less sales?
I have not looked at the Xbox Game Store to purchase something since I joined Game Pass. It is working.Well its not surprising. You can expect this the rest of the gen with MS's model encouraging gamers to not pay for games anymore
I mean this is the thing, most gamers have enough cash to buy a game every month - and the ones that are most in demand are Sony first-party games, and big name third-party games like Metro and Resident Evil.Well its not surprising. You can expect this the rest of the gen with MS's model encouraging gamers to not pay for games anymore
I'm willing to bet 90% of the time it's an indie game that sells more because of GP but GP isn't good for AAA gamingI'm wondering how that works?
For example.
If I had Gamepass I would play the games on it. Now I wouldn't buy those games because they are included with the subscription. The only way that I would is of they were taken off Gamepass. In that case I would buy them to continue playing them.
DLCs and MTX I completely understand though even though usually avoid MTXs.
and then there is the freaking pandemic and social distancing. like who the hell is gonna go to physical store to buy a physical game.I suppose with the decline in gaming stores, it isn’t a massive concern, however, it is difficult to get mindshare if you have no chart/store presence. Whether MS care or not is another story.

Isn't the PS5 to Xbox ratio like 3:1? I'd expect game sales to have a similar ratio

Idk, It's anecdotal but I've seen many Xbox guys brag about not having to "pay" for games and that they haven't bought games in a whileI'm not even sure about that. I think what happens is that the game gets dropped from Gamepass and people buy it to continue playing.
I don't know which types of games get removed the most from Gamepass. I know the only ones that stay there are 1st party games.
Lol at 3:1 ratio. If it helps alleviate your insecuritiesI don’t think you guys understand statistics. Nothing is getting worse its selling at a proper ratio to its market share. Did you expect the console with a 3:1 ratio to have less sales?
Your reading comprehension failed you. I'm not saying indie games sell more than AAA games. I'm saying that it's more likely that indie games on Gamepass saw a boost in their sales than AAA games in Gamepass
nice bullshit there buddy. as if people will buy indie games over AAA games.
I remember I was told Gamepass increases game sales
indie games will be happy with 100k sales, unlike AAA games. AAA games will be happy if its at least sold 500k-1M copies. different expectation.Your reading comprehension failed you. Not physical games.I remember I was told Gamepass increases game sales
Good result for Minecraft Dungeons.
Regarding Metro Exodus, I think it's a good result for Xbox, given that Playstation has a lot more customers that still live in the past (and thus buy packaged games).

Console sales don’t matter, game sales don’t matter. We’ll be hearing this more and more as Xbox remains at the bottom of every conceivable metric besides a subscriber number they may or may not choose to share.Argh, these fucking threads… Just an excuse for fanboys to fanboy.

we only have physical sales here. not digital. Subscription service boost players base of the game. they act as a demo. its like trying a car before you buy it. if you like it you buy it. if not, you dont buy it.Well it's a big loss in revenue if people just stick with subscription services. Some companies need to sell physical/digital copies in order to cover development costs.
I don't think it's wrong if someone actually buys a game instead of playing it off a subscription service.
Not a good comparison, as physical games will still exist for a very long time from nowNot physical games.
It's hard to believe that retail charts are still thought to have any relevance by some people. It's like ranking car manufacturers by the number of horse carriages sold.
