I googled and didn't find any solutions that worked. We both have XBL Gold. Both connected properly. I send him an invite it says failed to join game. I tried to join him and it said something like "Failed to join game because you tried to join someone you don't follow or who doesn't follow you" whatever that means. We are both friends on XBL.

I remember having this issue a year ago, and it just randomly resolved on its own, and then came back sometimes and some days we randomly couldn't play. But I never found a fix.

Tried rebooting the Xbox's and all that.

Anyone have this issue or know how to fix it?

Both have Xbox. But I have a series x and he has Xbox one.

When i had a Xbox i had similar problems with Hitman 2. Solution was to deactivate the Teredo-Filter in my FirtzBox.
