Yes. I think this year alone will be remembered as an all-time great. And last year gave us Horizon, Elden Ring and GoW Ragnarok
Hell, in the current month's time we are getting Tears of the Kingdom, Diablo 4, Street Fighter 6 and Final Fantasy XVI. You either don't like videogames or are just a cranky person if you're still complaining about how terrible everything is.

Which is sad. The LotRO game is so full of love and passion to the books. The movies took some liberties, but they were still wonderful adaptations (I would say the Hobbit faired less well in that regard, but still better than the trash we have today!). Even the Lego Set is absolutely gorgeous and full of detail and true care.
I just wish that they would so the same for their modern games and shows/films.

The reality is game budgets are increasing exponentially, games take longer to produce, next gen has been mostly cross gen, diminishing returns have arrived, game quality has suffered greatly in recent years, big name games keep missing the mark, too much focus on GAAS turds, etc, etc, etc. People have been vocal about this stuff for years now. Microsoft announced a ton of games at the start of the gen that we’re still waiting on. Sony is releasing one big first party game this year. That is a noticeable decrease in output.
To act like you haven’t noticed any of this because you enjoyed some games comes across as disingenuous. I’m enjoying Warhammer Boltgun right now. I enjoyed Hi-FI Rush earlier this year. Can’t wait for Starfield. Doesn’t change the fact that the last three years have largely been a shitshow.

I played lot games and I enjoyed that wasn’t GaaS games or shit show just this year alone. Just because you personally not happy with gaming this “past three years” it doesn’t mean that’s true form me or everyone else.

And no, I’m sorry, if FF XVI, Street Fighter 6, and Diablo 4 all range from great to excellent, that alone makes the summer an absolute blast for me. Resident Evil 4 Remake was a god tier game in my book. Spider-man 2 and Alan Wake 2 both look really promising. Granblue Fantasy Relink may release this year (probably will be early 2024 but we’ll see) and still looks fun. Hogwarts Legacy is in the backlog but still looks fun. Tears of the Kingdom isn’t my jam but I’m happy for the people who are enjoying it. Don’t have an Xbox but people seem to love Hifi Rush which is cool. And so on and so forth (Fire Emblem Engage, Wild Hearts, etc.)
Don’t accuse Danjin of being disingenuous purely for “daring” to have fun. Especially when you throw out such subjective arguments like “game quality has suffered greatly in recent years” and “big name games keep missing the mark”. These aren’t facts or reality, they‘re just opinions.
Edit: and with your recent post, majority of opinions still don’t equal facts. For example, I’m sure there’s a few people out there who had fun playing Redfall. They’re not being disingenuous, they’re having fun, plain and simple. Lord knows I can relate, I had fun with a certain title from earlier this year that plenty of people here shit on, and I honestly I got burned out by a few people here (and especially on gamefaqs) legitimately mocking those who enjoyed it.

I'm against pushing a quota just for the sake of being diverse. At the very minimum the diverse hires have to be worthwhile and deserving of the job. It doesn't help us POCs if companies are hiring bad people just because their skin is black or brown.
Please how does one hire a LGBT person knowingly? Surely they aren't asking people in the interview if they are gay.....

Good. That’s simply what we were discussing. I’m all for people evaluating their biases and scouting people in any and all groups. But once that is done, hiring the best person is key- the person who has the most talent and can bring the most to the company.
The problem is that people are sometimes hiring to right past wrongs in society.
Just hire the person with blue or purple hair and a million piercings and tattoos. If all else fails, check for a name that doesn’t match the pronouns.

2. I will admit that while I'm a HUGE believer in DEI, I think it's stupid to advertise your product or service to your customers on it. It usually never matters to the consumer how and why you hire the people you do. Just do the job well and they'll be happy. I wish these companies will stop trying to advertise this so much and just do the work of being diverse, but also an excellent company.
3. LOL! Not all blue, pink, or purple hair people are LGBT.

For a little background, I work in a very diverse workplace with great people of all races, btw. I don’t think anyone at my work was wrongly hired or hired.
