I don't know what's the big deal about nudity that triggers people...
Now I'm remembering RDR2 and there's not
a single female nipple in that game, and you can't have sex. And it's a R* game.
Pretty disappointing.

Naughty Dog about to revolutionise the gaming industry. After seeing the success of hentai patreons they will launch the new concept of "games as porn as a service"

Because in many western countries we have this weird thing where blood, gore and violence = good, boobies = bad.

Bunch of bozos tht are hypocrites they'll back women having the right to go braless and shirtless in society (I have no issues with tht I've seen plenty at regular beaches) but then will talk shit when thy show some skin in a game 🤦‍♂️ or ppl say it shouldn't be censored. And don't come with the "but kids play games" bcus tons of kids go to beaches plus games have ratings for a reason.

Would be great if they decided whether or not they're against explicit content. Naughty dog getting a free pass while third party devs have to be evaluated for censorship is hilarious.

I'd be surprised to see a single boob in the game, even from Ellie's love interest. I'm sure there's emphasis on her relationship, but I doubt that'll include anything that could be perceived as pandering to straight male audiences. It would go badly with certain audiences Druckmann seems to want to please.

And the first game everyone asking a video game developer for a switch for a blur effect.

(nobody wants to see that with these characters... now put the Dead or Alive girls in here and we got something)

Lesbians are Us Part II (they should have skipped all the way to 69)

Word is there's a scene where Ellie is clearing a supposedly abandoned encampment, only to walk into a bedroom and find Neil Druckmann writing yet another industry-defining masterpiece oh man he's so talented everybody keeping him and getting rid of Amy Hennig was totally the right thing to do.

Most people are not attractive at all, then you have a smaller percent that are just average, and a even smaller percent that are attractive. So it's fairly realistic.
Depends on what you like. My guess would be that the majority of gamers still like playing and interacting with characters that are at least above average looking. ;)

post-apocalyptic fiction without some shit makes no sense.

ellie was almost raped on TLoU and ND nailed the script and everything.

Since 2 seems to be more brutal...welp, let's wait and see.

Christ. It’s going to be like The Crying Game.

We’ll be warming up for a little bit of sexy Bunga Bunga and then WHAM....erections everywhere.

Bet money now it will be a Trans thing.

not really. It comes down to not wanting to upset American mothers. entertainment with sexual content makes mothers uncomfortable. Seeing 11 year old Tommy fapping to gypta hookers or a nude MCU hero would mean no more MCU movies or console games in that house because, by in large, they determine those things. And it is not only sex. There is a level of violence that cannot be crossed as well, hence the rarity of corporate R movies.

so it comes down to the attitude of so-called soccer moms, companies wanting to make money, and the ppower america has when it comes to setting global media standards.

of course, if they knew rhe depraved shit Bing and Google serve up to children...

I've always wondered how in movies/tv shows/commercials/video games how they produce the specs/description/ads for some of the characters.

"High profile action adventure video game looking for an actress/actor to play an unattractive lesbian with bad skin, huge bozo the clown nose, and horrible ratty hair... who identifies with someone that is hot and sexy."

But you are agreeing with me.
Soccer moms aren't born with these ideas, like everyone else they are shaped by their surroundings and culture where they grew up. Regardless of the reasoning behind it, in many western countries we DO have a stronger aversion to sex and nudity than blood and gore. Look at how Mortal Kombat massively scaled back the sexiness of their female characters, but the gore was more intense than ever, or how Sony has increased their censorship to even cover up asses in non sexual contexts, but TLOUII seems to be going for more intense and realistic violence than any previous ND game.

you are right.

thinking further, violence and war is a core part of us culture. why else would the population support the massive military war machine, and where would it get its grunt fodder if violence and war wasnt venerated? Support your troops!

I think that the game contains nudes or sexual content does not necessarily make it more mature. This depends on the use and need made of these contents. And in that I fully trust ND

That's great but what's not so GREAT is that my boi Joel aged in Dog years............. Like holy shit does he looks like a ghoul from Fallout 3 ;_;

Seems like we’re getting something more mature this time out from The Last of Us Part II. In imagery available via the official website for the sequel, you can see that the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) has awarded the upcoming title an M/17+ Rating. In itself, this isn’t major news for the series. This is the exact same rating given to The Last of Us and The Last of Us: Left Behind. Where it differs, however, is the accompanying content descriptors of the rating. Whereas The Last of Us has ‘Sexual Themes,’ Part II is tipped to have both ‘Sexual Content’ and ‘Nudity’.

The gulf between ‘Sexual Themes’ and ‘Sexual Content’ might seem minuscule, but there is a definite difference between the two:

AND WHY THIS IS NOT BANNED OR CENSORED SONY?

the hypocrisy is really staggering.

and don't even start with that bullshit that the censored games had underage looking characters... Ellie looks like 14 or at best 16 in every image we've seen of this game, so if she has a sex scene in this then there is no excuse for Sony to demand other games being censored.

Well if you want realistic you open tinder or go to the nearest club. I prefer when my fiction is above average :)
