He did respond, we had the thread yesterday about how he spoke to the dev team of enotria. Which is another souls like, so it's going tit for tat now.

I'm glad it's not an inclusivity deal.
Well the thing is. If it's true that wukong devs reached out to platform holders for assistance with their platforms and only playstation responded then it would be a inclusivity deal, that is discussed in the sentence "We can't speak of other deals with other platforms" part.

The irony is that xbox fans somehow think this is a bad look for sony. Literally nobody but them gives a shit if sony did make a deal and nobody ever claimed sony are saints. We understand they are a corporation and its business. So even if it is true, Microsoft and xbox are the ones who look bad not having a massive game on their platform. So what if sony made a deal? What you gonna do? Scream and shout into the air?

I don't think people are saying that it's bad for Sony to do a deal or that they're saints.

I think the sentiment is that if Sony have done a deal but not announced it, knowing that the conclusion will be that it's a fault with Microsoft hardware, that's a pretty shitty thing to do. It's the sort of thing that if it were the other way around, people here would be posting endless Phil Spencer is this or that pics in response to.

If Sony have done a deal and it's reflecting badly on their competitor through assumed fault, then some people will think that's brilliant and fair game and just business. Some people will think it's a fairly shitty thing to be doing. You could make a case for either position, depending on your own outlook, I guess.

I get that, but it was the studio who claimed that the xbox versions needed more optimisation and wasn't ready for launch. Sony never said anything. If the studio is lying, then yeah it's a shitty thing do and they will deservedly be called out on it.

You mentioned why online gamers would care.

But normies have been drifting away from Xbox consoles for almost the entire generation now, why would they get tapped into whether the Series S is good enough at running the game or not? They're not gonna buy Xboxes anyways.

Hey Ass of Can Whooping Ass of Can Whooping .. what do you think ab...

The issue with all that is that it doesn't take into account the complete lack of support from Microsoft. We have seen a number of examples of that and not just from a technical perspective. Sony went the extra mile here that Microsoft seemingly can't be bothered with unless called out on social media. Sony doesn't need to make "Microsoft hardware" look bad when Microsoft is doing a bang up job of that all on their own.

Could the motives for Sony's "deal" be as "shitty" as you are suggesting? Sure....that's possible. Could Sony's deal with Game Science be as simple as "we will help you with PS5, but you are on your own with Xbox. Deal?" Yep. Would the media translate that into an "exclusivity deal" just to generate a big story? Especially for a studio that is as despised in woke parts of the internet as Game Science? Oh hell yeah they would. Hell, initially Paul Tassi completely left out the fact that Sony wasn't getting any money from Game Science at all for helping getting the game to the finish line. Just dropped that "exclusivity deal" bomb and that was that until Jeff Grubb had to come in and fill in a few of the blanks which had Paul Tassi backtracking into the realm of "I believe". Imagine if Paul Tassi's first jab at this whole thing was "I believe there is an exclusivity deal in place based on what my source heard". Laughable, but that's accurate.

This 'news' is for who exactly? Is this their way of making hay over Xbox missing another game? Riling up their own hardcore fans?

How much of it is running interference for ms and how much is fishing for rage clicks?

Funny how people keep ignoring @Heisenberg007 here. So, why can't MS openly say it was an exclusive deal set in place by Sony? Why isn't Phil allowed to say it out loud?

Because without offering proof of said deal, they are spreading rumor-as-fact to rile up their base and obfuscate the reality that their platform is on death’s door.

“It’s not our fault Xbox is dying, it’s these ‘slimy platform things’ Sony is doing! Proof? Because I said so!”
