Take-Two CEO says AI-created hit games are a fantasy: 'Genius is the domain of human beings and I believe will stay that way'

"I wish I could say that the advances in AI will make it easier to create hits, obviously it won't," said Zelnick. "Hits are created by genius. And data sets plus compute plus large language models does not equal genius. Genius is the domain of human beings and I believe will stay that way."

It will make it harder to make hits without using those advances. Count on it.

He’s correct. It does take genius to make great art AND heart/soul that can’t be replicated using copy pasted together bits to fill a canvas following learned algorithms. But, it can get close and that is good enough for corporations if it will shave a few hundred thousand bucks off the production cost.

Another question: can the consumer even tell what good art is? Do they even care anymore? If not, why pay a good artist.
