Blending live action and CGI?

So, what, we're looking at either a sonic 2006 or smurfs situation?

...Yeah, i don't think either of those is a good avenue.

If Universal got the rights, Shadow could have been part of the DARK UNIVERSE.

This needs to happen. Imagine Sonic in Frankenstein (Instead of a brain, Sonic finds a chilly dog to use in the monster):
"Hey Green Giant, you're too slow!"

Sonic - Zac Efron
Tails - Tom Holland
Knuckles - Michael B Jordan
Amy - Alexa d'Addario
Eggman - Paul Giamatti
Shadow - Kit Harrington

Where's my check Paramount

The only way I'd be interested in this is if it was an animated project aiming to be in a similar visual style to the Mania animated intro.

Live action mixed with CG? No thanks.

So it goes from a studio that's notorious for being creatively bankrupt to a studio that's notorious for its recent films being financial bankrupts.

Funny how that works.

(Also lol at it still being live-action/CG. If this escapes development hell in its current state, prepare for Sonic 2006: The Motion Picture.)

I’m guessing this is going to end up being another one of those godawful “fugly CGI versions of beloved cartoon characters find themselves lost in modern-day Manhattan” movies.

Give sonic a human female love interest plz haha. Gotta give the online sonic fandom another decade of fuel for their gross madness

Please have an Obama impersonator drop that chaos emeralds line too

Using mo-cap as the 'live-action' part of an animation, sure, but combining them is simply never going to work. Unless it's a magical realism movie about addiction to speed.

Not surprised Sony ditched it either, but Paramount buying it up is like: "the fuck are you doing". Sonic Boom: the Movie, is what you should make and just forget about that live-action shit.
