In a future society torn apart by extreme income inequality, climate change, and civil unrest, one show has taken the masses by storm, giving desperate competitors a shot at fame and glory. But first they’ll have to survive the arena. Each live-streamed broadcast delivers a hellish new obstacle course with a unique theme, traps and challenges. As a contestant with your own score to settle, you’ll have to battle other heavily armed combatants, explore for life-saving sponsorship packages, and outwit especially devious surprises from the show’s director if you hope to become the next champ.

Does look more interesting than the initial sell set-up suggested, but man, art direction for video games really needs a shake-up. These characters look like they could have been lifted from one of about a dozen other recent games.

Talking about my initial experiences with the upcoming TRPG, Showgunners, which takes place on a future cyberpunk dystopian gameshow.

• The video starts with music and the host introducing an early preview of the upcoming tactical RPG, Shogunners.
• The game is set in a cyberpunk dystopian future where contestants participate in a game show called "Homicidal All-Stars," where they murder each other for a big prize.
• The game is divided into episodes, which consist of isometric exploration and tactical turn-based battles where players move through death traps and enemies.
• Players progress by earning Fame, experience, and gear to level up their characters, gain skill points, and passive abilities.
• Players can recruit more characters to their team, and the main characters are Scarlet and returning champion Marty.
• As players level up their Fame, they can take on sponsorships that offer large passive bonuses that have personality requirements.
• The combat system is two-action points-based, and players can move and attack, reload ranged weapons, make melee attacks, and use a cover system to reduce chance to hit.
• Environmental effects, such as exploding barrels, environmental traps, and level-specific mechanics, add complexity to the game.
• The combat system is fast-paced and fun, with quality of life features such as fast forwarding through enemy turns and percentage to hit chance readouts.
