Game Dev Shigeru Miyamoto Used To Smoke In The Star Fox Office

I don't think it's that different...

The chance of getting lung cancer from cigarettes on the average smoker is from 9 to 15%.

The study on weed suggests up to the same percentages. Not good odds at all.
I agree, that it shouldn't been seen as some sort magical healing plant, but there are plenty of studies suggesting health benefits for some diseases and while there is not really a consensus about it being as beneficial as some studies suggest, there is still a lot of untapped potencial. Tobacco on the other hand can't be used as a supplement and can't be used medicinally.

You shouldn't put all your thought into one study. It's not as widely studied as tobacco usage.

That's not racist?

It is, but what does one thing has to do with the other?

How does telling that weed is bad for your health equals racism?

How does government now being interested in weed has anything to do with racism?

How are my posts somehow related to racism?

I don't understand your point here.

At this point is safe to say that everybody knows that smoke kills, simple as that. It's an industry that still produces a lot of money and has many interests around it but still, people smoking in the last 20 - 30 years are doing it knowing perfectly what the are the risks.

I wish weed had the same amount of resources invested in it to know exactly what we are dealing with but people still has a hard time leaving the old propaganda behind. Of course there is a higher risk of lung cancer when smoking weed than when not smoking but it probably has to do with the fact that a person would be inhaling smoke, not necessarily something to do with Cannabis itself. If people smoked cacao, the same risk would be there.

It doesn't matter, people should be able to do with their body whatever they want. The only thing that should be criminalized is putting others at risk like when driving impaired or performing certain tasks.

You're picking and choosing, YOU brought up the propaganda angle. Claiming that there's some sort of agenda to make weed seem cool and harmless, while ignoring the near century old bullshit that we've been fed starting in the 30's, based on lies that marijuana was being used by Blacks and Mexicans, going around raping white women.

All I've seen in entertainment is stoners being portrayed as lazy, stupid, looking for the next giggle, or Twinkie. Not very flattering, if you ask me.

Why the fuck would they, or the government, or the media or whoever the hell you think is doing the "propaganda", try to shift people's perception towards marijuana in a positive direction? What's their goal? To expand consciousness so people can see how they're being fucked and lied to on a daily basis? Doubt it.

The century old people and interests are not around anymore, tech and industrialization now are far beyond what you had back then. In the 30's they needed sharp people to operate fully functional and not slack off, why do you think alcohol was prohibited too?

Now they don't need you sharp, they just need you as a political shield. What better way to make you defend them than providing your addiction? Weed is like Soma from 1984, "give them something to take all the bullshit in and not question or complain, they'll even thank us for providing an escape from the hell we've created". You don't cut the hand that feeds you, do you? Plus, it's making them billions of dollars, so there it is... the lobby on entertainment, the hiding side effects and the willingness to change public opinion on the subject...

Dude, you had a bad experience with it, it's not for you, that's ok. If you're telling the truth about actually smoking cannabis, that is. Which I now HIGHLY doubt. "I smoked it a couple of times when I was a kid when my frontal lobe was nowhere near done developing, so that gives me a pass to speak bullshit lies about it".

You're just rambling like a mad person now, 1984, really? Cannabis expands consciousness, anyone who's consumed it a few times knows this. You're saying it does the opposite. If anything alcohol is the soma, that definitely keeps you deaf, dumb and blind. Which I have no problem with, by the way.

And here I am playing your game, when I said I wouldn't, I'm now done. Take care.

That's why they made Mario gay. Now it all makes sense.

According to the former Argonaut Software developers Dylan Cuthbert and Giles Goddard (the team behind Star Fox on the Super Nintendo), the one and only Shigeru Miyamoto would regularly enter their section of the office in Nintendo HQ, light up and share his thoughts. Cuthbert explains in detail:
The question is what was he smoking?

Coming up with Plumbers eating mushrooms to grow big, and eating flowers gives you firepower is pretty epic.

You're smoking that hammer shit, my ninja.

Perhaps. I just think that the expanded consciousness stuff is nonsense, give me examples. I think of guys like Kevin Smith, his brain melted after getting into pot, he had much better output as an artist before he "expanded his mind." I don't think it's dangerous, but I've always felt that line was a justification for being a lazy drug user.

I am divided on this to be honest. I know people that reguarly smoked in their life and it the cliché of the lazy stoner thats unable to think or react properly definitely applied, maybe even to be point of being schizophrenic. To be fair, I have also met people that are more conscious and work properly under weed, I am just saying that this differs from person to person. Maybe the reason for that is the combined consumption of cannabis and tobacco (Please don't do that. I know some are trying so safe a few bucks, but you should rather smoke less than combining it with tobacco), which is somewhat balancing.

Weed varies, you should know this as a 20 year long smoker. Some strains give you a body high where all you want to do is sit on the couch, eat pizza and binge on Netflix, followed by a nap, maybe. And some have you energized, seeing the matrix and I'm not talking about the movie. I guess it just depends on the person, but you can't deny the impact it's had on creatives from the paintings in Lascaux (even though evidence suggests psylocybin consumption) to Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club to you name it.

Weed often feels, especially after a week long break, like a very light psylocybin trip. Don't get me started on mushrooms, that shit takes ALL the filters away.

Alright, of course, if I don't think it's good is because I wasn't ready or because I never actually used it. OK man, of course...

I'm not saying you should stop using, all I'm saying is that it makes no sense to demonize cigarettes (which is what the thread was all about and seems to be an almost political thing in the US at the moment) and completely defend weed when it shares the same bad effects. It's hypocritical behavior, if you don't think so then maybe you should smoke more to "expand" your critical sense. You take care too!

Smoked a lot of weed strains and never had this happen, I think it's BS. Hard to really say that an artist wouldn't have done great work without drugs imo, but I have seen examples of an artists quality decline after finding weed. I get it, it's fun, but I don't think it's doing a lot for society let's be real here.

The more you go on the harder I find it to believe your weed smoking claims. Those artists that declined after finding weed had much bigger problems before finding it.

Combusting releases a lot of chemicals that give you that 'couch lock' feeling....as opposed to vaporizing where the temps won't reach that high to release those and you'll get more of an alert high without getting sleepy.
