That's a lot of copies in such a short time and a lot of money (~$180 million) for Capcom.
Also, roughly $54 million for Sony.
I remember some on here saying that when RE 7 only shipped 4 million units it was a flop LOLHow much did RE7 shipped in comparison?
Sorry, roughly $40 million. As platform cut.54 million for Sony..?

Started playing the game yesterday, and it's well fuckin' deserved 'til the last sold copy
This is the closest thing I could find about it, but even then it is only the UK:Where did you get the PC, Xbox and PS5 sales figures to get to that number?
And only physical. This is the closest thing I could find about it, but even then it is only the UK:

This isn't the right thread for that (and we should move to the other one for further discussion), but just to answer your question:And only physical.
I never getting the hype about shipping numbers for this very reason. Not the same as sold-through but ‘grats I guess.
This isn't the right thread for that (and we should move to the other one for further discussion), but just to answer your question:
1. Because UK is Xbox's stronger market, this split will scale as is in other countries. If anything, PS will likely get a bigger percentage of sales because Xbox isn't as strong in other countries as it is in the UK.
2. It does not include digital copies. But that won't change the split either as PlayStation has a higher percentage of digital sales than any other platform. If we include digital copies, the split will grow in favor of PS.
+ digital.Just the physical?
Actually PC digital will drop the PS ratio. This isn't the right thread for that (and we should move to the other one for further discussion), but just to answer your question:

RE7 reached 4 million 7 months after launch.I remember some on here saying that when RE 7 only shipped 4 million units it was a flop LOL
RE7 took 7 months to reach 4 million. How much did RE7 shipped in comparison?
Yeah any game that only sell 4 million copies in less than 7 months is a flop LOLRE7 reached 4 million 7 months after launch.
Capcom expected it to reach that at launch.
It sold at launch way below Capcom public expectations.Yeah any game that only sell 4 million copies in less than 7 months is a flop LOL
Even so, it was hardly a flop. Still, it was at a time when people loved to bash 'Crapcom'It sold at launch way below Capcom public expectations.
It that is what flop means... underperform... then yes.
Bash Capcom?Even so, it was hardly a flop. Still, it was at a time when people loved to bash 'Crapcom'
A lot of people were down on Capcom between the announcement of the panty-raid engine, and the implementation of the RE Engine game. I was always a fan of all their games, but the completion of the RE Engine definitely has been a turning point for them.Bash Capcom?
It is the best selling title in the franchise... it is one of the best selling games from Capcom.RE7 underperformed at launch but after word of mouth caught on, it climbed to over 8 million. It’s one of their better selling titles in the series.
That's better than I expected considering the reviews suggest it's good but not mind blowing.
Gladly I am not the only one to think why shipped numbers matter. Not the same as sold-through but ‘grats I guess.
