The fact this wasn't in the main game is the biggest piss take.
That's assuming there is going to be a Dino Crisis remake soon as just about everyone would interpret this as a massive hint. If there isn't one coming out, it's smart to not mislead your fanbase.

Final boss on nightmare took me 50 tries (I counted) before I uninstalled the game.
Did you use the item that makes the perfect dodge easier to do? I'm on the final boss on my Nightmare run and I quit after a couple tries without the item. I have a separate Hardcore run I was doing just to get a S-rank and grab some more shop points.

Extra playthroughs just aren't feeling that fun at the moment. I feel like every early encounter with Nemesis that isn't a boss fight is just annoying.

Naw. I saw people on youtube doing it with defense coins, infinite rocket launchers, and shit. I shouldn't have to use NG+ items to clear a difficulty mode lol

I know some people have done it legit but seeing so many people resort to using NG+ items is a testament to how bullshit it is.

On Inferno it's even worse. You HAVE to learn to dodge or you're fucked.

Yeah I worded that weird. I quit after a couple tries without any of the items is what I meant to say. It was really annoying. It does feel like they tailored the hardest difficulties to require the shop items and that's not really a good thing.

I think the shop concept is cool, but the execution is flawed. They made it too easy to get infinite guns and then basically require some items to make it playable without ripping your hair out on the harder difficulties. But if you use them, it's a complete cakewalk.

I think I'm giving up on ever finishing this on Inferno. The final boss is just too shitty. This game isn't Sekiro, where you are properly given the tools to time things out correctly. At least on PS4, this game's input delay makes dodging and reloading a fucking mess.

So now you have a boss where if the game decides it won't register your press of the square button until the 6th time you've pressed it, and now you're in the middle of a reload while his arm is getting ready to swing, you already know you're starting over. If you see his arm coming, and you press R1 in time to dodge it, but the game was like "bro why aren't you just mashing it 6 times so I know what you meant LOL," you already know you're starting over.

I could bang my head against the wall for another 20+ minutes trying to get the right RNG sequence for this horrible fight, but in the end, I have to ask myself why I'd want to do that.

I beat it on Inferno on PS4 and yes it is bullshit but only the final boss is an actual struggle. Just before you fight him save. Keep taking the Ls, only thing you can stack is time since the deaths won't count. Yeah it's not good but it's possible. I know you can do it.

Really didn't find the boss on Inferno THAT difficult, only took me around 5 tries. I think it took me a few more tries than that when I faced him in Nightmare honestly simply because I had to learn the timing. Once I got that down, it didn't feel that unreasonable. Yes, basically one hit and you're dead, but it's totally doable. And I played it on a base PS4, never noticed any issue with input delays or anything when it came to dodging.

Wow the rocket launcher makes everything extremely trivial. The final boss is still horseshit, but 10 times easier when using it. Since it explodes more bulges, more acid spits out, so you basically are just at the will of the game's RNG on whether the acid is going to hit you and make you stumble long enough for the one-shot from the boss. Nothing interesting or fun about it at all.

My first playthrough on hardcore without any shop items was definitely the most fun. Blasting everything with the rocket launcher on inferno was fun in a different way, but overall, this game feels like it was made by giving a great engine and assets to a small team on a small budget with a short development time.

As someone who doesn't have a lot of time to play games these days and prefers shorter experiences. Resident Evil 3 was ridiculously short! I mean what the fuck happened from RE2 Remake to this? Half the game was just cutscenes in itself. It was more like a long tech demo. There was no effort put into this at all.

So its truly a faithful remake of RE3 which was a glorified PS1 expansion of RE2 LOL

Eh, I mean they're pretty similar. I don't know how much of the second character play-through adds to it. If it doubles the play time for something that's basically the same then it's not really adding a lot to the game, imo.

(I didn't play the OG's)

But the length between RE2 and RE3 Remake doing one play through with just one character is not similar at all.

Naw, this is a common misconception.

RE3 introduced more than enough new gameplay elements to make it the most unique in the original trilogy. Aside from reusing a small part of the RPD for a very short segment, every location in RE3 was new, expansive, and offered more choice than any other RE game. Ammo mixing, dodging, Nemesis, randomized item/enemies, live-selections, multiple endings, etc.

People who make this claim need to back up their opinion. How is RE3 an expansion of RE2? In terms of gameplay, RE3 was a bigger jump from RE2 than RE2 was from RE1.

If you look at the how long to beat website, the avg is 2 hours less in RE3 for just the main story. I'd say that's pretty similar without a padded second play-through character.

Just finished my first playthrough of the game, played on Hardcore and finished it in 5:55 hours, 28 deaths, C rank

Just as i expected a very fun game like RE2R, locations are uneven and there's no equalevant to the police station here, which i appreciate since i just played RE2R for the 4th time 2 months ago.

Overall worth the money and taking a look at the shop, i'm going to enjoy playing through the game multiple times.

There's been a section of GAF and the overall gaming fanbase that feel like a remake must be a 1:1 recreation of the original game down right to the mechanics (see the argumants for turn based FFVIIR and tank controls/fixed cameras RE2R) which i personally don't agree with.

I find games like the Shadow of the Colossus remake and the recentally released Trials ofMana to be more of a remaster than a remake, same game, same story and dialogue just with shinier graphics, which is just boring to me.

I appreciate what Capcom and M2 have done with RE2 and 3 remakes, both are great games that don't exactly replace the original PS1 releases.

Hats off to them and SE.

One Big Room, Full Of Bad Bitches
I guess a recent update added a RE4 reference?

explains the newly-created connections between the Nemesis of Resident Evil 3 and Resistance with RE4. According to Capcom social media specialist Kellen Haney, the Nemesis' ability to infect zombies with parasites in Resistance was added to the game to tie into the Ganado enemies of RE4.
"We inevitably decided on this final ability due to the presence of Ganado in Resident Evil 4," Haney said. "Ganado are humanoid enemies that are created through being infected with the Plagas parasite, the original basis for NE-α. When the Plagas activates, it spawns from the neck of its host in the form of a tentacle."

My first playthrough was 5:45, 7:45 with cutscenes. So length is comparable to RE2 remake if you count cutscenes, of which there are a lot of. I was satisfied, but also never played the original RE3. Not as good as RE2 remake though.

I died a decent bit, but it was mostly 1-hit kills or deaths while I was in orange caution. In RE2 remake you could only die from Danger, right? I'm not making that up?

Lickers could 1 shot you at full health in RE2 with their leaping strike attack.

wait
What was that about cut scenes?
They count in terms of play time?
Are you saying that if you skip the cut scenes the actual recorded play time is shorter? That’s dumb because it’s not play time

The game specifically tells you your difference between play time and play time with cutscenes.

The cutscenes aren't counted as play time. You will even see speedrunners letting cutscenes play out sometimes because it doesn't count in the in-game timer and it's an easy break. In fact, even when you are doing the slow walk with the radio conversations playing, it doesn't count that time, which became an actual strategy in speedruns to continue moving while not losing in-game time.

What you're seeing with the two different timers is your play time versus your total time. After you've done a handful of playthroughs, you'll have like 20 hours of total time versus your 2 hours of play time. It's just that if you only do one playthrough, your play time and total time will be close, so you might think it had to do with cutscenes or something.

I just finished the inferno S rank run. Man it was tough, I must admit to watching a vid for the final boss because it was incredibly difficult. I didn't want to use any shop items but did end up having the two extra pouches. Great feeling when I finally managed to do it. I love the game, it seems way too short, but the gameplay fells better than RE2 for me.

One of the most fun runs I had was doing getting the no heal and no opening the item box trophies on standard. That was a great way to play the game and because it's so damn short I did it in one afternoon.

I really wish they would add some dlc, Carlos' journey from the RPD to Jill. Also, the opening is such a missed opportunity. You see a different part of the city but can't do anything in it except have a conversation and duck under a bus. The whole opening could've added another 30 minutes of proper gameplay where you are actually fighting Nemesis.

Game was amazing and the fact that it was "on rails" is what made it a blast of an escape. RE2 was nowhere near as replayable. I put 60 hours into it because of how fun it was plus the PC mods were great to mess around with.

I’m beginning to think that this new RE3 Remake is going to age well. Now that all the, “It’s too short” reviews are out of the way, I’m starting to see more love for it

sometimes being short enhances the replay-ability factor. I like it, game is tight, sure there is some changes I personally didnt like scripted nemesis but thats fine now whatever the og game still exists.

Started playing this, so far I'm liking it, considering I didn't played the original back in the day.

But it clearly feels less scary than RE2 Remake.

Dumb question: why the fuck this is the first game ever to show me 3 icons on the console menu?

Two of them I can understand, they separated online mode from single-player, they act as different "applications", even thought I find that kind of stupid, but there is a third one that's only used one time and it stays there doing nothing.

Finished the game and it's a 7/10 for me.

The game is short and to be honest I'm not a fan of the dodge mechanic.

Jill is the best Jill so far and deserved a better game. Nemesis is a joke, Mr. X was way more scarier.

Online mode has some nice ideas thought. They should really make a remake of Outbreak.

I have the same thoughts pretty much. It's a shame because I really liked the hospital section and the power station where you gotta flip on the breakers.

Everything is mostly just.............ugh. It's a shame because with the nice environments outdoors a park segment would have been really cool. It's too bad the game is just so linear where I felt like I was just going from Nemesis encounter down a hallway to another Nemesis encounter. The alley way rocket launcher segment rooftop part comes to mind...
