Developers: M-Two Inc.
Publisher: Capcom
Director: Kyohiko Sakata
Producers: Peter Fabiano, Masachika Kawata
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One
Release date: April 3 2020
Genre: Survival horror/action horror
Modes: Single-player

A series of strange disappearances have been occurring in the American Midwest within a place called Racoon City. A specialist squad of the police force known as S.T.A.R.S. has been investigating the case, and have determined that the pharmaceutical company Umbrella and their biological weapon, the T-Virus, are behind the incidents—though they've lost several members in the process. Jill Valentine and the other surviving S.T.A.R.S. members try to make this truth known, but find that the police department itself is under Umbrella's sway and their reports are rejected out of hand.

However, soon reports of a grisly "cannibal virus" begin to surface, and vicious dogs begin roaming the streets. With the viral plague spreading through the town and to her very doorstep, Jill is determined to survive.
However, unbeknownst to Jill, an extremely powerful pursuer has already been dispatched to eliminate her.

The original game, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis was released in September 1999, and has gone on to sell over 3.5 million copies as of September 30, 2019. Just like its predecessor, Resident Evil 2, the game is set in Raccoon City, a city overrun by a whole new kind of biological threat, but this game illustrates the outbreak and conclusion of the incident.

It follows the protagonist Jill Valentine as she fights to escape her pursuer, the Nemesis T-Type, and offers a new kind of survival horror which plays off the fear of being constantly and relentlessly chased.

This game, Resident Evil 3, reimagines this city as it falls into chaos beneath the undead horde, with a level of detail and fidelity that can only now be realized with current technology.

It's going to be interesting to see how many people will actually wait for a sale because of the game's length. Capcom should've made a longer campaign since there's only one in RE3. I still remember how I felt when I bought Until Dawn for 60$ and didn't get enough content for that price (and ended up selling my copy at a small loss).

Thanks for the thread.

I am ready and my PC is ready. I loved the original game so much and I loved the Demo aswell.
It ran beautifully on my PC. Not sure yet whether I play at 1440p 144fps or upscale the resolution to combat jaggies a bit more.

RE2 Remake one of the few games I actually 100%'d and got all Steam achievements (first game I have ever done this. Usually i don't care for achievements at all) and I guess I will do the same for RE3 aswell. Multiple playthroughs on all difficulties.

Can't wait to play this on Friday! We'll see how long it actually takes me to beat it. I usually am on the longer side as I stare at shit and test things out more than usual.
Recommendation -> When doing your first run, give it a shot on Hardcore (the highest available difficulty from the get-go). If it seems too much for ya, opt for Normal Mode.
Steer clear from Assisted Mode, because it seems to be spoiling the overall purpose of the game (i.e. you end up sailing through the game as if it were a walk in the park).

Oh, I'm going straight for hardcore. I liked RE2 so much I got the plat for it, so I've been itching for this game for a while and I had already wished I never played RE2 on normal.

Wonderful OT. I was kinda shocked that Resistance was in my queue for purchased items. I was so focused on RE3 that I didn’t even notice that it was part of the package. So much going on that things just slip my mind.

Join John Linneman and special guest Alex Aniel as they take a look at the Resident Evil 3 Remake. How does the RE Engine deliver from a technical perspective? And how does image quality and performance stack up across all platforms - and crucially, has Xbox One X improved from its disappointing demo showing?

Her analysis videos are garbage but she's to be trusted on what makes RE games good, only cringe is she soys off of Jill but other than that it was valid insight. She gave it an 8/10 but personally seems more like a 7. Also the people who beat it in 6 hours need to post their difficulty and score.

That's gonna be a nope from me dog. The game is completely on rails with nothing of what made RE2make so compelling navigation wise in there. The police station revisit even takes up a sizeable chunk. Carlos shooty sections take up a large chunk of it overall. We barely play as Jill to be fair. If I gave them the money for this game, I would never forgive myself. Reviewers have not rated this game low enough. I can see it being "mixed" on Steam.

Don't care about the length, I'm hyped. Just waiting on my key from GMG.

Total play time 12:51. I'm guessing it doesn't count time from the last save until dying? Also, zero deaths is easy by just reloading old saves. It think these two things account for that clear time.

Also, with regards to REmake 2, it was just as short in terms of gameplay. Both campaigns were 80% identical. You got different cutscenes (for those who give a shit about "story") but it was the same game twice with different weapons. The dlc was pretty good though, not sure about Resistance.

I chuckle everytime someone says "on rails".I don't know why. I don't mind rails. Games need some sort of guidance sometimes.

Shirrako doing a PC livestream of the game on hardcore right now (45 mins in). Pretty sure we haven't seen hardcore yet anywhere else. I guess Nightmare might follow.

They're competing with Mass Effect Andromeda for who has the better B team. Even the cutscenes are half-baked at times.

Watching the playthrough on hardcore I can say this game is once again empty and unfinished, but there's still hope with Inferno difficulty with the remixed stuff. Also no fighting Nemesis anymore, he drops a case if you bring him down to his knee, and there's nothing special inside.

I'm in disbelief by how little city there is to explore.

Is it hyperbole to say that RE2 Classic has more city sections than this RE3 remake? The to are at least comparable, or am I out of my mind?

We pretty much already seen the entire city section in the demo, as far as "explorable" goes, the rest is the cinematic intro sequence which is barely gameplay and the Nemesis chase sequence with the rocket launcher where you will just run forward round some alleys which are suspiciously similarly feeling to the one you go through after leaving the RPD in original RE3.

Can somebody explain what are the differences between difficulty levels? Especially starting from hardcore.

The game is awful. Truly god awful. Yes he had played the game before. I think the total playtime at the top right is from all your playthroughs, but for a Hardcore run this is a complete joke. Yes I am enjoying shitting on the game, but I wanted it to be the greatest game in the series. It's looking more like this is among the worst "proper" Resident Evil games, while I hesitate to call it one in the same vein I don't consider RE4-6 as RE games.

total playtime in the top right is the actual real amount of time it took to finish the game?

13 hours and 10 hours in the two pics you posted doesn't seem so bad.

Nope. That total play time seems to include all running time, including cutscenes, paused time and possibly all playing time combined from all playthroughs. It is that bad.

Well sure, I would expect it to include custscenes and all the running time. That's what I meant, it looks like the real-world time it took to finish the game. If it includes all playing time from combined playthroughs that would be kinda weird.

Holding off all judgement until I play the game myself. I'm actually okay with a breezy 6-8 hour first time playthrough as long as it's fun. And if it is fun, I'll get multiple runs out of it and try to shoot for lower times. I mean, every RE game can be beat extremely fast once you know what you're doing.
