Anyway to put a bunch of self-righteous hypocrites in their places is the right way. When you pride yourself in your moral superiority and get off on ruining the livelehoods of those that operate outside of your worldview then you deserve every last bad thing that happens to you. This is the key reason Trump was able to destroy absolutely everybody else despite being so flawed himself, he never gave a damn about morals & -never preached down to others about a lack of morals. There's nothing worse than a self-righteous hypocrite, which is the entirety of ResetEra's userbase & moderation. To hell with every last single one of those SJWs, use whatever means necessary to hold them to their own standards.

I'm fairly new to Neogaf and I love it here.
I have read far too much of this thread if I'm honest and besides learning that there is a whole other forum that hates me for just being here, something about this thread just feels very........... off???

They have publically shown themselves on that front. This isn't the scandal that will take them down, it's just phase one. The staff have acted predictably in a hypocritical way. We know how they circle the wagons and it was in a way that's been time and time again proven not to work.

I really have no problem people watching anime with lolis. I don't find it appealing but if people have some tendencies to like underage people and those cartoons serve as a outlet and they never touch real children then ffs watch that thing all you want. The problem is of course when real children are the victims. That's why I really have nothing against most of the users discussing this stuff since it's fantasy and it's the same type of fantasy someone can have while playing a game or reading a book of a serial killer where you put yourself in their shoes but you're not going to go out and murder people. People should be allowed to think and fantasize with whatever they want as long as they don't harm others.
That's why I'm also uncomfortable to judge these users since I think it is the same behavior Reeetardera does. In the end it is a moralist condemnation over something that is not really harming others, you just find it disgusting, weird, whatever but, for me, real moral outrage should be saved for stuff that harms people for real not for thinking or fantasizing in "wrong ways" which is then entering the realm of micromanaging people's freedom of thought and expression.
That's why I say the condemnation of resetera should be focused on their hypocrisy when condemning others for less shit than this and then trying to silence any criticism towards them for allowing some of their members free reign in these topics.

Folks need to douse their torches and instead let the truth of the matter shine a light on things. You are not a witch-hunter. You are not a templar. You are not the rod of Truth and Justice in the ongoing drama between ERA and GAF, and most importantly this is not a "war" you need to enlist for.
Whipping GAF into a blind frenzy would surely be quite the outcome for this situation, especially when we have worked so hard to raise our community above such nonsense. Don't throw away your senses just because you want to see justice done.

Agreed completely. If this thread has proved something besides RE hypocrisy, is that actual sexual predators are too fucking stupid to keep low profiles and they will brag about their actions at the smallest opportunity. The only thing we need to do is keep an eye for those and expose them ASAP. No need to turn this into a "crusade" or whatever.

When this thread first popped up, it spurred some mixed emotions within the staff on whether or not this topic should really exist on our boards. While obviously people here have interest in that kind of story, NeoGAF becoming a primary source for this inter-board drama is not exactly what we want to be.
As it stands we try and keep all drama related to RE in a specific thread, as we are our own thing. Naturally our mutual histories intersecting makes complete ignorance impossible, but we don't want to be defined by this history...we're forging a new GAF with a new mindset and a new set of principles. Transparency with the users, accountability with the staff, no moderation based on thought policing...
After such an amazing E3 by everyone within our community here, it hurts that this highlights that we're still not perfect...not as a community and not as a moderation team.
We believe it's time to shut this one down, and learn something from how this all played out.
This thread will remain open for a short period of time so people can react to this post, however any further discussion on this subject should be moved exclusively to the RE thread.

I grew a little uncomfortable with where things were heading. I hate reeee and want to see them burn but people started reaching and doing the same thing reeeee does. I'd rather not stoop to their level. It's good that they're hypocrisy was on full display but thats about it.

My take on the whole thing as well. Good that their hypocrisy got a spotlight upon it again, but no need for all the extra and continued digging that wasn’t finding anything more than loli shit, discussion of age of consent differing across countries and so on from what I saw. I find that stuff gross, but it’s a far cry from finding some actual pedo or child porn sharing ring which would warrant digging and identifying people and reporting to authorities.
If people want to keep digging, that’s on them but I think it’s good to shut the thread so it doesn’t look like it’s sanctioned by GAF. Cross forum drama is lame as fuck and I wish more here would just ignore ERA and not give them clicks. I know I’ll never view that site again, would be silly to after asking for my account to be deleted as I didn’t want any association with those nutjobs anymore.
