Red Dead Redemption 2 Has Shipped 31 Million Units; Grand Theft Auto V at 130 Million

Today Take-Two Interactive Software announced new shipments data for Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto V, and more during its quarterly financial conference call for investors and analysts.

We learn that Rockstar’s latest game set in the wild west has shipped over 31 million units.

On the other hand, the evergreen Grand Theft Auto V, ever-supported by the omnipresent and still-growing Grand Theft Auto Online has now shipped 130 million units.

The previous update was three months ago, when the two games were respectively at 29 and 120 million units shipped.

CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that both Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online will be supported throughout the fiscal year.

Incidentally, it’s very likely that now Grand Theft Auto V is running on many more computers considering that it’s free on the Epic Games Store for a limited time. Considering that Epic Games’ storefront basically imploded at the beginning of the promotion, I’d wager the initiative was rather successful.

NBA 2K20 has also shipped 12 million units, Borderlands 3 is at 10 million units, and The Outer Worlds has shipped 2.5 million units.

At $60, that’s 1.86 billion for RDR2.

This is why Rockstar games can afford to be in development for a decade, and do every kind of insane thing, lol.
