So with both next gen consoles out (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S), it's clear that both consoles are quite powerful to get 60fps in games. Some of the games have received BC patches to run the PS4/Xbox One versions that were originally capped at 30fps to run at uncapped frame rates ultimately running at locked 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X. Games like Ghost of Tsushima, Gears of War 5, Days Gone, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Evil Within 2 all provide transformative experience going from 30fps to 60fps. With a huge catalog of critically acclaimed titles in PS4/Xbox One generation, wouldn't it be perfect opportunity for devs/publishers to prioritize and push out patches to unlock frame rates and resolutions for their games for next gen consoles? Games like Shadow of Mordor, Shadow of War, Evil Within 2014 just to name a few could easily hit 60fps on PS5/Xbox Series X if their frame rates were unlocked.
