PlayStation 5 enjoyed its best sales month of the year so far in Europe in April.

That’s according to the latest GSD market report (via GamesIndustry.biz), which reveals that 289,000 consoles were sold across Europe last month, representing a drop of 15% compared to March.

The data covers 10 countries in mainland Europe but doesn’t include the UK or Germany. However, PS5 also had its best sales month of the year in the UK in April.

Nintendo Switch was Europe’s top-selling console for a seventh straight month in April, followed by PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

On the software front, 10.8 million games were sold across Europe in April 2022, down 24% compared to March.

The software data covers digital sales in 30 tracked countries and retail units in 16 tracked countries.

Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was comfortably the top-selling game in April, ahead of Elden Ring, FIFA 22, Nintendo Switch Sports and Grand Theft Auto 5.

Switch was also the best-selling console in the US in April, according to the latest monthly report from US market research firm NPD Group, which was published last Friday.

April’s best-selling game in the US was Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which topped the monthly Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox and Steam charts based on dollar sales.

Still crazy that only means an average of 28,000 per entire country though

Do we have any other stats for how the PS5 is doing in other regions? All I ever hear of is the UK for some reason.

This thread is based on data from 10 European countries that aren't the UK. Though the only one we get regular numbers from is Spain. Unfortunately the latest annual numbers from Europe are from 2020 and we don't have the 2021 update yet.
