Priest kept child porn as ‘revenge’ on God for poker losses

Poker is a game of skill therefor not a sin. Pretty sure child porn is though.

Kind of loses all credibility when he has a previous molestation incident.

I know it's impossible, but I really wish we could scrub all CP off of the web. The fact that it's actually a lucrative business for the producers is an issue that desperately needs to be tackled, as does the mental illness that leads a person to have sexually explicit desires towards children.

I hope science evolves to the point where we can identify what genetic or mental defect makes someone a pedophile, and allows us to correct that defect so these people can lead normal lives without being a threat to their community.

Also, if this man is even aware of the god he is following, he should know that god knows his whole life already... like every decision he will ever make. You can't get revenge if he knows you're going to do it before you do.

What a complete piece of garbage

What the hell... This doesn't even make sense! How the hell did he come to the conclusion that this would be revenge against God?

This is the craziest thing I have ever heard. Like...I don't even want to try and unwrap how this could possibly be considered "revenge" against God since it would undermine and trivialize the reprehensibleness of the crime.

Also, why did he only get 2 years for possessing child porn? That seems like misdemeanor levels of punishment compared to what the fuck it should be.
Federally there is no mandatory minimum sentence for possession. So a judge can literally give a person who has been found guilty 0 days in jail. In many states it's even more lax than that.

Let me get this straight he was mad that he was not prospering from sin (guard from sources of greed) so he committed another sin in retaliation? What....

Between this and that Paula White comment religious folks are holding L's.

Jesus talking to God right now: Do I have to go back?

Sadly, this kind of stupid spin is commonplace today within political groups and it almost seems normal to read this, and assume large factions of people are accepting it

This man is an evil child molesting, child pornography viewing piece of trash.
And all of his excuses are 100% bullshit.
How the fuck can he only get 11 1/2 months

Covetous, perverse, vengeful, deceitful, and not even slightly penitent.

That's, uh, an impressive go at the sinning hat trick there, father.

Tell me if this feels like an apt analogy:

The Catholic Church : child molesters ::
Donald Trump : white supremacists

Probably a more capable entity than trump, some Corp that could be able to keep it hush hush. Like it is not the church making it public themselves, but people bringing out to public light. Gotta take effort into account.

Why would God care what you jack off too? If you wanted revenge on God, wouldn't it make more sense to become a Satanist?

It's just a BS excuse. If he wasn't a priest, then he'd lose his access to trusting little boys to molest.

Seriously, fuck the catholic church. The fact that they can keep getting away with sweeping this stuff under a rug confirms there is no god.

Did Pete Townshend ever release that book? Seems he's been working on it for years now.
Ha. Well I had a guy claim it in one of my cases too. Because it wouldn't have been a legally appropriate excuse even if it had been true (it wasn't), he and his lawyer were expressly restricted from mentioning it during the trial and he was found guilty on all counts.

Because the world fucking sucks..

Considering

Gugliotta had previously been suspended from ministry in 2003 for allegedly molesting a teenage boy in the 1980s. But because the incident occurred when he was still a layman and before he entered the priesthood, the Archdiocese of Newark ruled he could not be punished and quietly reinstated him in 2004.

The sentence is a joke. No shock above the Church thought "no punishment" and reinstatement was the right move.

Honestly, I'd have thought a quick call to the Pope this time around would have allowed him to be smuggled to the Vatican so he could 'retire' and avoid the law/this short sentence altogether.
