She was the best protagonist, she had the best powers, and the characters surrounding her were the best, it would make sense they'd try and go back to that. I'm not saying I believe the rumor, but it would be a smart thing for the devs to do as somebody who considers the first 1 a masterpiece, the 2nd one forgettable, and the 3rd one decent

I liked the first one at the time, but I don't know if going back to Max as the player character is a good idea. That sounds like it forces them to pick a canonical ending, and I know people have a preference.

I didn't really care about any of the sequels for a long time, but I did end up liking True Colors, even though there was one chapter I felt could have been cut or done better.
