PlayStation 6 Reportedly In Development According To Job Listing

The PS6 is reportedly in development.

The job listing states that the candidate’s responsibilities include “contributing to identifying and developing the technology portfolio of future PlayStation platforms.” The inclusion of “future PlayStation platforms” hints towards the fact that Sony might have already started its work on the next PlayStation console.

Console development starts early, but there’s only so much they can do regarding hardware that won’t come to market for another ~8 years. Technology will change too much between now and then.

They don’t even know what does and doesn’t work long term with PS5 yet, and they haven’t done the PS5 Pro yet. Then they need to learn what doesn’t work about the PS5 Pro.

The only way they don’t do a Pro is if they jump to 6 early, because the competition will do their version for boosted sales mid gen.
