Lol remember when we thought the stock would be sorted by mid 2021? almost a year later and still barely a PS5 in sight.
no real rush to get one. that makes it more insane. i kept my PS4 and all i'm really missing out on is a game from 2009 (demons souls). can play HFW, GT7 and God of War whenever it's out.Lol remember when we thought the stock would be sorted by mid 2021? almost a year later and still barely a PS5 in sight.
It just can't be CPU shortages holding up ps5 now. There has to be something else. I hope we get some information soon.
Like what? Please enlighten us...
Sony is definitely having way worse issues than they anticipated,Lol remember when we thought the stock would be sorted by mid 2021? almost a year later and still barely a PS5 in sight.
Nintendo certainly had a stroke of luck, switch was already a hit, but then getting the crazy momentum of 2020 and 2021 in their sails could see them achieving the highest selling conse of all timeNintendo can produce and deliver, Microsoft and Sony cant satisfy the demand.
What a shame
There are so many great games available for Switch. Sometimes I just don't understand gamers "I am depriving myself of excellent experiences until something better comes along". The truth is that the Switch is one of the best consoles ever made. It hits so many plus points in terms of form factor and library. If you've got too much to play and no time then I can see a point in holding off. But if you like playing games and are looking for new experiences why on earth would you refuse to play unless you're a brand loyalist or a graphics whore?I got the Switch Lite for Pokemon Go and the Meltan Boxes with Lets Go Eevee. However, i barely played it and i sold it.
I am waiting for an updated Switch, more future proofed, but with this amazing sales, i think it will take a little bit more for Nintendo to launch a sucessor.
You miss out on not wasting hours of lifetime you never get back thanks to super slow boot and load times.switch is a monster. xbox doing well too. sony better find a way to make more PS5s

Sounds like the PS5 is the Wii U of Playstations.40% drop is an ouch.
What a high pedastal to be on considering the ps5 already outsold the Wii U in totality in one region alone.Sounds like the PS5 is the Wii U of Playstations.
I mean they can’t do anythingThe wording was the following
![]()
aka they don't want to change the targets cause lowering the goal would be taking the easy way out (okay????), they think supply issues will continue into fy22, they might revise the forecast when they announce the fy21 results.
Sounds like the PS5 is the Wii U of Playstations.
I know but I was just giving more context to their forecast for the next financial year.I mean they can’t do anything
Can't be. The PS5 is a console people actually want to own.Sounds like the PS5 is the Wii U of Playstations.
Sounds like the PS5 is the Wii U of Playstations.
I work in the PC business and I know we saw some serious shortages on WiFi 6 modules. Substrate was also affecting cpu and gpu production but we have seen an improvement recently.Like what? Please enlighten us...
interesting that #2 was Elden Ring on PC
Microsoft's earning call is largely going to be boring imo without many insights yet unless they announce in the next couple of weeks that they will change the divisions and how they get reported (if the ABK deal does complete, I think it would be broken out of More Personal Computing although that might not get us much more data)Looking forwards to earnings calls should actually be interesting this time.
MS obviously got the clear lead so far in 22 so I want to see forecasts to what these companies expect going forward.
It could get ugly.
I agree MS will be technically boring, I expect a couple questions about gaming now that it is becoming a larger part of its portfolio.Microsoft's earning call is largely going to be boring imo without many insights yet unless they announce in the next couple of weeks that they will change the divisions and how they get reported (if the ABK deal does complete, I think it would be broken out of More Personal Computing although that might not get us much more data)
The Sony one is the interesting personally.
MS 26th AprilWhen is sonys yearly report? This one's gonna be very interesting.
I don't think that happen. Might not even report more performance metrics.Microsoft's earning call is largely going to be boring imo without many insights yet unless they announce in the next couple of weeks that they will change the divisions and how they get reported (if the ABK deal does complete, I think it would be broken out of More Personal Computing although that might not get us much more data)

Yeah, MS are very lucky that they are stupidly profitably as so shareholders don't hold their feet to the fire.I don't think that happen. Might not even report more performance metrics.
Azure has 1 metric being reported. Let that sink in.
Nah, people will start spamming the "switch is not a home console, you can't compare it to PS5 or PS2".Once more for those at the back.
Switch will beat PS2 sales. It’s going to be the greatest seller of all time, by some distance.
PlayStation USounds like the PS5 is the Wii U of Playstations.
Table in the UK Digital thread of the split between the platforms.More interesting data for those that like to compare game sales numbers between platforms.
Xbox shows a larger share of copies being sold digitally vs playstation (41 % vs 34% on Lego Star Wars). Overall is 39% vs 34% sales on PlayStation vs Xbox accounting for digital and physical sales which, seeing the disparity in installed base, seems a great number for Xbox.
Does somebody know if the share publishers lose from distribution of physical games is larger than the 30% cut they lose when selling digitally? Publishers might love those numbers if they get more money digitally

I honestly have no idea, but I'm just interested in if its some more specialised component that is affecting the overall production. Copper prices increased and saw delays, is the memory they are using for the ssd specialised?
Maybe it's a combination of things.
We know Microsoft went with more standard off the shelf components on many of their parts and an older WiFi module. Maybe this has helped them get units out the door.
I'm just genuinely intrigued and am struggling to see that it's just their APU at the root cause of the issue. It's smaller than the series x and there seems to be an improvement to chip output at tsmc across the board....Well more demand has dropped across all tech. The APU does need to clock a lot higher so maybe its just a yield thing. No idea.
Would love to know.
I think it's well known or rumoured that Sony had an extra couple of months of production ahead of Microsoft. I wouldnt say it was a 2019 machine.Does this show Sony was getting the parts of the PS5 way ahead of its launchdate thus having a bigger stockpile (and being a 2019 machine) and now the stockpile has been worked through, scraping by?
Lego split is surprising. You would have thought the Switch version would be a bit higher than that (even though Nintendo has historically not been as strong in the UK).Hold it right there fanboy
If one console is available to buy and the other isnt, it's just common sense one is going to outsell the other
And nobody is buying switches any more, the consoles basically dead at this point, it's had like 2 noteworthy games released for it in the past 12 months
The Vita is the Wii U of Playstations.Sounds like the PS5 is the Wii U of Playstations.
I wouldn't say it's as clear cut as that. We have examples from UK, Switzerland (and I believe Spain as well) where the PS4 versions of game sold better than the PS5 versions in some weeks. It depends on the game.Maybe due to the lack of PS5 available. Most games sell most on PS5 rather than PS4 on Sony's consoles. This is for Europe and Japan is the opposite obviously.
Found the following online but haven't been able to confirmLego split is surprising. You would have thought the Switch version would be a bit higher than that (even though Nintendo has historically not been as strong in the UK).
It is about how many APUs they can make.Interesting. I thought it was solely because of the limited APUs that they have been able to obtain...
I doubt anybody in the know would stop by to explain what it might be, however...
Maybe everyone who wanted a PS5 already bought oneIt is about how many APUs they can make.
Sony still provide more chips when MS but have more countries to supply so some countries ends to having lower numbers.
MS increases the numbers of chips producing more Series S than Series X… so they have more consoles to ship… Sony doesn’t have that option.
Even so overall Sony sells more consoles globally than MS… Sony have more production allocation at TSMC than MS.
The Vita is the Wii U of Playstations.
That explain why it is sold out in minutes and people are complaining they can’t buy oneMaybe everyone who wanted a PS5 already bought one
I like people acting like UK coming out of EU means it drifted down the pacific ocean, dem EU ropes holding UK in place getting sewered. The UK is part of Europe, Xbox is pretty strong in the UK.
That's very interesting data, especially for DC Villains. I guess I wasn't taking userbase of each platform into account enough.Found the following online but haven't been able to confirm
Split for some previous Lego games
Lego Indiana Jones :
Wii : 27%
360 : 22%
PS2 : 20%
PS3 : 17%
NDS : 13%
PC : 2%
Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens :
PS4 : 46%
XB1 : 28%
360 : 13%
PS3 : 8%
3DS/PSV : 5%
(Wii U version was not release the same week)
Lego DC Villains :
PS4 : 46%
XB1 : 32%
NSW : 22%

Come on the technology packed on Switch is not compared to gameboy, that shit was a tank![]()
Love my switch but after joy con drift on both controllers. Ok was a 2017 model but still.
What’s cool is I’ve seen the actual GB in the Nintendo NY store and my actual switch does have a protective plastic over the screen to stop scratches.
