Microsoft said in an SEC filing this week it will actively consider women and minority candidates to succeed CEO Satya Nadella, making it among the most explicit statements from a major tech company about CEO diversity to date.

  • In its annual proxy statement, which was first spotted by CNBC, Microsoft said its board of directors “is committed to actively seeking highly qualified women and individuals from minority groups to include in the pool of potential CEO candidates.”
  • The statement does not indicate that Nadella is on his way out imminently—companies typically include statements in annual regulatory filings about CEO succession, but rarely do they include promises about diversity.
  • In the wake of the George Floyd protests over the summer, Microsoft pledged to double the number of Black managers and senior leaders in the U.S. by 2025—though that effort is under scrutiny from the Justice Department.
  • According to its 2019 diversity report, women comprise 29.2% of Microsoft’s workforce, Black employees are 4.4%, Latinx workers are 6.2% and 33.3% are Asian.

Critics have for years assailed the lack of diversity in corporate America. There are 32 women leading S&P 500 companies and only 11% of S&P 500 CEOs are ethnic minorities, according to the Wall Street Journal. Advocates point to a multitude of reasons why, including a failure to train and keep minority talent for executive roles and a tendency to put women and underrepresented groups in charge of marketing or human resources, which don’t typically serve as springboards to CEO positions.

I debated another user a few days ago on how America is not "white supremacist".

One of my arguments was no other country on earth discriminates against its own majority white population like America does.

White Americans literally pass laws and programs that take away their own rights or money, and give it directly to non-white people. Yet how many non-white countries do the reverse?

The answer? Zero.

You should hire based on merit not genitals or skin color.

There's a reason the vast majority of self made billionaires are men, despite massive venture capital offers for women even with abysmal ideas, there's a reason most intellectual sports, and most e-sports are dominated by men.

Check the top chess champions, the top shogi champions, the top go champions, the top e-sports champions. Check the billionaires list, etc.

If you compare average iq by concentration in university, fields dominated by men have higher average iq than fields dominated by women.

The extremes of intellectual ability are dominated by men.
All the research I've done points to a gender difference in general cognitive ability. There is a mean difference of about five IQ points. The further you go up the distribution the more and more skewed it becomes. There are twice as many men with an IQ of 120-plus as there are women, there are 30 times the number of men with an IQ of 170-plus as there are women.

Again there are women with very high IQs, but they are very rare, and not all want to be CEOs. So your choice usually is either a more competent man, or a less competent woman.

I travel to Colombia (family there) -- trust me when I say that the entire culture is laughing at these fools.

They try this in South America and I promise executions will be sanctioned by the government and population.

Last time I was in Bogota I got into a conversation with a very effeminate gay guy, he said (and I quote) "what the f*ck is wrong with your country and these f*gs" LOLOL

Latino culture is ultra-conservative, the entire mindset is conservative (family, man-women, love your children, etc), and it's embedded it the language.

America is like the anti china, a backwards (retarded one may say) nation state that does everything it can to destroy said nationstate. Where as China lifts up and propels its Hans majority forward (yes at the cost of minorities rights in draconian policies). America shits all over the majority hertiage, european americans and has for the last 40-50 years. One of these is in severe decline and the other is on the precipice of global domination, we will know who took the right path in 20 years from now (hint, not america).

At my work place it took several months longer than necessary to find a "suitable candidate" for a particular job because they wanted a female, and there just wasn't many women applying for the job at all. In the end they had to settle for a guy. "pie_tears_joy:

Who knew that would be tossed out the window for discriminatory hiring practices based on race and gender. But hey, whatever gets you virtue signal points and acting like Santa Claus giving out freebies because some people can't earnt themselves with good qualifications, resume and interview skills.

Good thing this is more skewed to the tech industry, which I'm not part of. I've worked in an office all my life across 4 large companies, and we've never had any virtue signaling hires or pink haired political blowhards trying to change the office.

Seems to be a beloved hiring practice in many tech companies. But not in other places where they simply just try to hire the best candidate, as opposed to getting you to check off "which race are you?" in a check box in an application.

Once you see that shit, watch out. HR has an agenda.

For those of you who don't know, federal contracts often involve ensuring a company meets criteria which often now includes demographics. So if want the kinds of contracts MS wants (which are giant), the government can mandate that you will only be considered if your company meets certain employee metrics. Disenfranchised groups are often a key point. So the more you can show you got more women and minorities, the higher your score, which helps your government bid.

So don't think the virtue signaling is done just for goodness of it.

There's potentially hidden payouts and contracts you don't know about.
