Yeah Capcom, why the fuck are you remaking RE4 instead of remastering Godhand? Up the res, make it stable at 60fps, drop it at $20 and the internet will do the rest.

I've finished this game without understanding anything, because it was the japanese version. It is that good.

Because it's a niche game in a niche genre with obscure Japanese game mechanics. The 'diamond in the rough' for people that love average games for some reason.

I understand - I think The Council is a pinnacle of storytelling of the last gen, but not everyone agrees.

Hmm interesting, I've never even heard of The Council before this post. First episode is free and the whole season is only $6 on PSN, so I'm gonna have to check it out, thanks!

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
One of the top PS2 games, and overall one of the greatests action games ever.

It has a it all: lots of action, enemies, absurd combo variety, chihuahua racing and spanking women in the ass.

I have to replay this soon.

Game is incredible, probably the best example of the 3D beat em up. What makes 2D beat em ups work are the enemy encounters and how they force you to practice situational awareness, a lot of 3D titles miss this, God Hand knocked it out of the park.

I don't believe it to be a masterpiece either but, seriously, niche or not a remaster should be easy and cheap to make and there's a ton of people who never got the chance to try it.

I only played thru it once but it was one of the most memorable games ive ever experienced. Great gameplay but also brilliantly hilarious.

Theres this dude I sub on youtube who has been posting Godhand videos for the past like 10 years: Miek Kobe.

I don't like the voice of this guy. Also, 'What Happened' seems too sensationalist and really makes no sense.

I still remember the bad scores the game got...
"Auch gottes Hand greift mal ins Klo" (Even Gods Hand can do a bad choice) was the verdict of a german game magazine 😅
I really need to play this game for myself

I started replaying God Hand this week for the fourth time. Its gameplay is so good that I've never felt it has aged. The movement while turning (not the quick turn) takes a while to get used to, but I don't know how it could really be improved on in the modern era except that playing on a wider-screen would make turning feel less rapid, which would be nice, especially in the clostrophobic indoor areas, which is where Godhand's perspective hurts it the most.

Fighting is just so satisfying. The game of trying to guess when the enemy is going to guard, breaking the guard, dodging, using attacks to dodge or juggle--it's all very close to perfection. The absurd humor still cracks me up. It never gets old spanking people and sending them flying with that one final slap.

If I remade the game today, I'd probably take out the casino, and all the moves would be found as random loot drops or earned through a skill tree/talent system.

I'd like it if there were more themed movesets
based on real martial arts, like the drunken fist moves.
