Mario Strikers: Battle League First Kick demo is available to download today (Post Launch DLC Confirmed)

Guess I'll try this, since I forgot to cancel my subscription and got charged any ways. :messenger_downcast_sweat:

Have been recently playing Mario Strikers on the cube. Wonder how this one'll feel in comparison.

Playing through the tutorial sequence now. Anyone else playing feel like there's a slight input delay? Slight, but noticeable, and becomes somewhat annoying when trying to pull off passes, aimed shots, or tackles. I've noticed it in both handheld and docked, using the pro controller, the official joy-cons, and the hori split pad pro.

It's very hard to sell me an arcade sports game that runs on an outdated mobile architecture for $60. Threatening DLC only exacerbates this. It looks interesting, but Nintendo's valuation of their products and mine are increasingly incompatible.

Every sports title they have seems to have 6-12 months free DLC. I doubt any of it is paid.

Demo says it’s available June 3rd… can’t download

Edit: strange, when I use the link in op it works. Oh well

I have a very fond memories of this series.
When my friend bought a game cube with his pocket money from some rich kid with many games, he would bring it to our gathering and we would spend great time on that machine. We were mostly ps2 generation and this thing looked and played as an exotic device.

Sad thing is we had only 1 controller. So to play Mario soccer, we would put the game on highest difficulty and see who would lose with lowest score.

So imagine me and my brother when we came to know that they are making a new one for switch. Now he really regrets that he sold his switch and have asked me tomorrow mine when I get the game

TLDR: can't wait.

Played through the tutorial and I'm pretty impressed with how technical the game is. There's a pretty substantial amount of depth involved. Just input charge tackles, just input chain passes and chain shots, and the supers were pretty fun as well.

Honestly seems like they have a great soccer game on their hands here. I was hoping for more single player content though, which is why I'm hesitating.

I'm not falling for the promises of another online Nintendo game. I'm certainly in if the single player holds water, but much like Smash and Mario Kart I expect the online functionality to be abysmal at best.

The best mario game, honestly Mario Strikers was some of the best fun iver had in ages (Including the SEGA version).

Loved what I've played so far.

Really looking forward to trying this tonight. Booted it up at 11 only to realize the site said PM. 12 hour time format is trash.

Do characters here have different abilities and supers like the Wii one? Like dry bones disappearing, warios fart bomb?

Nintendo has been generous with demos on the Switch to a degree I haven't seen since the Satellaview. I wonder what caused this change internally?

Damn it ...input lag is the worst ..I don't care if it's only a few milliseconds more than what I find acceptable, it's usually going to bother me
