Just started discovering Rammstein's discography and videography and i'm speechless. Best albums, videos and tours from them?

Long story short, in 2019 Rammstein released their untitled album. I had never heard a single studio album from them but decided to check it out since i knew what they were and the genre of music they have always done . And honestly i was speechless. I was hooked on that album for quite a long time and that rarely happens to me. For some reason i never explored their discography after this.

2 years later, just last month they released a new album, Zeit. Again...not only did i thought it was amazing...but i really think it's a step up from the 2019 album, even if there's no "Deutschland" there, it IS a better album overall (i my opinion). For a band that's been going since the 90's, to release such strong material i needed to check the rest of their discography for sure.

Yesterday i checked Mutter since it seems to be the best one for most people and again...they seem to be doing this for so long and never missed somehow?

10 minutes ago i checked the music video for Deutschland and it was the first video from them i watched, ever...followed by Zeit. I knew they were known by their music videos but god damn these were awesome!

Any fans out there? Where do i go from here? What album should i check next? And the best music videos in your opinion? Any tour they have released that's worth checking out?

I saw them in 2012 and it was the experience of a lifetime. Nobody puts on the kind of show they do.

I would listen to Liebe ist für alle da next and then give Mutter and Reise Reise a listen after, those are incredible albums. You can't go wrong with the debut and Sehnsucht either. I envy you a little in the sense that I'm not very impressed with the last album, or Zeit. Deutschland is an incredible song, but I don't think any of their other recent songs even come close.

As for songs that I think you really need to listen to:
Dalai Lama ( I can't believe they've only played this song live once or twice, it's easily one of my favourites)
Adios (Absolutely love the faster tempo of this song and that chorus is incredible)
Ich Tu Dir Weh (My favourite Rammstein song, the music video is incredible too)
Keine Lust (Also in the running for Rammstein's best song and has the best music video they've ever done.)
Stein Um Stein (Extremely underrated and features one of Till's best screams)
Zerstoren (Extremely underrated)
Mein Teil (One of their most terrifying songs, about the Armin Meiwes cannibal case where he ate the penis of a voluntary guy.)
Weisses Fleisch
B******** (This might be their heaviest song)
Fuhre Mich (Liebe ist für alle da bonus track) (This song is about siamese twins)
Halt (Liebe ist für alle da bonus track, Till sounds absolutely deranged on this song.)
Wiener Blut (This one is about Josef Fritzl, who imprisoned his daughter in a basement for 24 years, whom he raped and got 7 children with during that time.)

Heard about them and catched glimpses of songs and videos throughout the years, but for some reason never truly listened to them.

Then 2 years ago I was on my regular music video binge on youtube and somehow stumbled on one of theirs. Or it might have actually been a reaction video to one of their music videos, can't remember. Watched it loved it and then went on to listen to their entire library and was blown away. I now adore their music and love every album. The fact that they are still releasing albums where I legit love every single song is amazing.

And their videos are always fantastic. Op I also suggest you listen to some of Tills solo stuff.

Thank you. Since i already know the latest 2 albums and Mutter, the next ones will be Liebe ist für alle da > Reise Reise > Sehnsucht > debut.

Interesting that people don't seem to mention Rosenrot a lot. Maybe since it released only one year after Reise, Reise it was kind of a filler record? I'll leave that one for last.

And yes i really like the latest 2 records. This last one wasn't as heavy as some of the previous stuff i'm hearing but musically they are still interesting. Songs like Armee der Tristen and Adieu from the album Zeit are quite good.

The vocalist has solo stuff? Nice! Thank you for saying that cause i had no idea.

Their craziest music video is from the song Pussy. It's literally a porn video. You might not find this video on Youtube, but the song is hilarious

I was at the Family Values Tour in 1998 and these guys sprayed milk from a giant dildo on the crowd.

Oh man, Rammstein. Been a fan since the late 90s when I was a kid/young teen. Somehow their music has never gotten old. The thing about Rammstein is they really don't have any stinkers album-wise.. just start from the beginning and listen through. Watch how their sound evolves and refines. Yet they always retain their signature sound. Till Lindemann is a total chad and has probably one of the coolest voices in music.

I'm flying home to Boston in September to see them, for the very first time. Words cannot express how excited I am for this.

I saw them recently in Prague, not a big fan of Metal music, but the performance was incredible.

Would love to see them, last great gig was Faith No More in London. On acid (don't recommend that.) Missed the whole concert as was tripping balls. Thought Mike Patton was singing straight to me. He wasn't.

Fuck i've seen some live stuff from them since yesterday and shit seems crazy!

It was crazy, also crazy expensive
they already charge the "legacy act" fee i'm sure.

Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Madonna, etc have always interesting prices to say the least. Rammstein are already about to celebrate 30 years in the industry. I'm not surprised tbh.

I am EDM fan, most often there are just 2 tiers of pricing, regular and VIP. So I wasn't prepared that on classical concert like this, you are paying for spot where you are, closer to stage, more money, which threw me off big time. I caved in, take two spots at the middle and I payed more than double of those who take the spot in the back, at the front its 4 times as expensive as in the front. So I wouldn't paying that price, if the whole stadium would be free to move, but not like this. I was nervous if shit would go south, what the fuck am I going to do, there were barriers in place, separating plebs from better plebs from rich people and it was weird. But show was spectacular. However waiting on the fucking act for 2 hours without any performance is also pretty terrible on your morale, standing bumping into people and shit like.

I have no issues pulling all night event like Transmission or ASOT, but here I was tired as fuck at the end and I don't think it was due to great show.

I understand all these things are normal with such events, but I am deeply not a fan.

Usually shows like these are expensive as hell to produce. I remember an article about U2's 2008/2009 360º tour...it only broke-even after half the dates had been done and it was at the time the highest grossing tour ever. But the spectacle is usually great as well. They are worth it.

Saw some Rammstein videos and...i guess they like fire, lmao.

Yeah, fire was there all the time. It was great.

When it comes to Rammstein, this one is the whole package:

I wouldn't call it a "Great" band, but Rammstein is definitely listenable and good.
Now that time has proven it, they are honestly one of the most reliable bands I can think of, in terms of their beginning-to-present sound. They have barely changed, other than getting better.

Bestes Album ist, meiner Meinung nach, immer noch Sehnsucht. Die Produktion ist fantastisch.

Rammstein is one of the greatest bands ever, even got their logo tattooed. Had the pleasure to see them live twice in my life, in fact, the second time was just a few days ago in Switzerland.
I will listen to them till the day I day, that's for sure.

I'm a huge fan. I first heard them in the David Lynch film Lost Highway and then bought the soundtrack. I'll easily put them up there with the best acts in rock history and their first three albums are all just straight 10s in my opinion.

I'll also suggest Lindemann's solo stuff which has been really good. And the videos make Rammstein's vids look very tame by comparison.

I ignored them after Sensucht which I owned as a teen, but the only other time I really heard them again was a couple of years back when I used to lift with my brother and he played America while working out. Since Zeit released I’ve gone back and listened to everything I missed during the 20 odd years and REALLY enjoying it.

I didn’t love how EDM focused Sensucht was back in the day as a metal head kid who played in bands, but Mutter and everything since is much more organic and instrument heavy.

Mutter is the best album, Deutschland the best video / great song combo.

Agree with this. Songs like Mutter, Sonne and Mein Hurz Brennt are probably still the best representation of the, as a band.

The Deutschland video is amazing (plus the band were made to look like old timey bare knuckle boxers imo 😆)

Since my OP where i mentioned Zeit, Untitled and Mutter, i explored Reise, Reise, Liebe ist... and Sehnsucht.

If Mutter is their most instant album, Reise Reise grew on me A LOT since my first listen.
Sehnsucht was a huge surprise...i wasn't expecting such a different sound. Seems like Mutter was the album that made Rammstein, Rammstein if you know what i mean. It's really industrial and i wasn't counting on that. Like you can actually dance to some of those tracks. Great album as well. I also knew Engel and had no idea. Not the song but the whisle at least, i know for sure i'm familiar with. Du Hast is obviously a song i knew for sure..

That said... Liebe ist... wasn't a favorite. I feel like they were a band trying to be Rammstein? Not sure how to explain this...something was up during the production of that record. It feels like an album done on autopilot almost? Not bad or terrible, but one of the weakest for me. The weakest is one i haven't mentioned: Rosenrot. It might grow on me since i only heard it once but i realized later it's basically left overs from Reise Reise released a year later, so it makes sense.

Anyway, been listening a lot to Reise, Reise, their latest, Mutter.

Still wanna give Rosenrot a chance and have yet to listen to their first record.

But it has been an incredible journey so far!
