This game has it all. The music, the artwork, and the super addictive gameplay. But I think these other reasons means there will never be a better game of its kind:

1. It belongs in one of the most niche video game genres in existence.
2. And it's a deader than dead genre. I mean at least people still make shmups.
3. Even if someone makes a new pinball video game someday, it won't be in 2D.
4. The music, style and artwork will never be surpassed. This kind of talent just doesn't exist anymore.

The music is so good. Had this on the Wii virtual console, awesome game.

But honestly though, Epic Pinball is my personal favorite pinball game, probably just nostalgia from playing it as a kid.

Great game! Have you tried Demon’s Tilt? It’s kind of a spiritual successor.
