Innovation Extends with Intel Iris Xe MAX Graphics and Deep Link
Intel launches Intel Iris Xe MAX graphics, designed for thin-and-light laptops and now available from partners.
At first blush, my reaction was what's the point of a dedicated chip that's only barely above the top TGL IGP, since it's the same EU config with dedicated memory and more thermals. But Deep Link is potentially interesting as it lets you use all engines across both chips together.
In terms of gaming, games notoriously don't use two GPUs well, so not expecting much progress there after AMD and Nvidia tried and failed after over a decade. The Xe Max chip itself should target ~MX350, maybe a bit higher, so not a monster gaming GPU, but potentially an interesting budget laptop one.
