Welcome back to Next-Gen Console Watch, our show following all the news and rumors on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Series S. This week guest host Seth Macy is joined by Ryan McCaffrey, host of IGN's Xbox podcast, Podcast Unlocked, and Jonathon Dornbush, host of IGN's PlayStation podcast, Podcast Beyond. This week we discuss our predictions for Gamescom 2021, speculating on what we could see next week from both Sony and Microsoft. With Xbox hitting its stride with Game Pass and its regular stream of announcements, are they poised to steal the spotlight from a rather quiet Sony once again? We'll also take a look at some of the biggest third-party games coming from the likes of Electronic Arts, Activision, Ubisoft, and more!

0:00 - Intro
1:00 - What We Can Expect From Xbox at Gamescom 2021
6:02 - What Sony Could Show Off at Gamescom 2021
10:12 - Upcoming Third Party Releases and Reveals
14:34 - Poll Results & Outro

Given that xbox actually has an event before gamescom, they should have the bigger announcements but maybe gta v e&e gets show with Sony branding and that's enough.

Don't think it basically matters. Sony is the bigger brand, both of the top end consoles are selling out.

What left in terms of events until news years? We assumed September SOP and then back in the new years?

What Xbox event?
Event on Tuesday, a day before ONL.

Trying to figure out what they are going to show
- halo
- a small bit of FH5 maybe (not sure what else they will show)
- the Gunk will be there somewhere at gamescom but maybe ONL
- bunch of indies and small games from last year like Scorn , CrossfireX, Kart Drifter
- AoE would be a weird one personally

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
The ever lasting Sony domination is getting boring, and they need readers.

Right now there's no conversation happening, people are comfortable with Sony running the ship. That's terrible for journalism.

With Switch on its way to becoming one of the best selling platforms ever

and Xbox gaining traction with Gamepass and the Bethesda acquisition,

you can expect articles like this all generation long.
