Stop concern trolling.
People generally like to crap on Nintendo but I agree with you on the switch. The UI is very basic but it never feels bogged down except when you are in the store then it is terrible.I may be misremembering, but wasn’t the Vita those fucking bubbles? That was truly horrendous. I still have one, might charge it up to reminisce lol. Always hated Sony’s UI work... No one really gets this right IMO - current gen rank for me is Switch, Xbox, PS4 in that order.

Well, PS5 looks...fine to me. It’s different, no doubt but I like when you just break from the past and create something totally unique. And I like white so there’s that. Now, it has to be quiet, otherwise GTFO.I don't get this OP. Yeah, I get that the PS5 UI is shit but have you looked at the OUTSIDE of the PS5? The ugliness of the UI pales in comparison to the console itself. If you can tolerate the looks of the console itself the UI should be a breeze and there is no reason to give up the games you prefer over something as minor as the UI.
It's a menu.
If you're deciding against a $500 purchase because of the menu you'll be in for five seconds before launching a game, you're probably not really interested in the system to begin with.
$500 is the reason that UI shouldn't be that bad. And you can pretend that people only use it to launch games, but it doesn't make it true.
Someone forgot to hide the mouse cursor in the second picSorry, after 7 years, you can’t offer me something that is (far) uglier than what we currently have. I’ll not accept it. It also screams last gen, not next one. Yea, you can call me superficial but I just don’t like ugly stuff.
