Hold onto your butts, AIB partners raising prices on RTX 3000 series graphics cards.

Asus just raised prices on all their RTX 3000 graphics cards (i.e. the 3060 Ti, 3070, 3080, and 3090) on their store page. Same for Zotac (lesser known AIB partner).

The cheapest RTX 3060 Ti (i.e. the lowest tier RTX 3060 Ti) is now $499.99 on Asus website.

Although I haven't looked into, I'm guessing MSI has as well (I would guess this as they were ripping off people early on in the RTX 3000 series launch).

Not sure how this is going to affect Newegg, Best Buy, or other retail outlet pricing, but these are scary times.

Newegg raised all their prices a few days ago. Alot of motherboards saw a $20 price increase (my Dark Hero I just ordered ended up being $420 instead of $400... if only MSI boards didnt suck so much :( )

Might be sticking with my PS5/Switch for awhile then. I refuse to pay over $500 for a GPU. Unfortunately I think my RX580 is dying which is great timing. Geforce Now here I come!

Are you in HK? In that case, this won't affect you - the reason the prices are going up in the US is that the 1-year tariff exemptions have expired and bringing the cards in to the US is now 25% more expensive.

Sold my 2080ti for $800 on eBay. Can’t believe I got that much for it. Made the 3090 expense much more tolerable.

Damn - I got my RTX2080FE second hand for $400 from one of my friends when he got the RTX3090 - I thought that was a great deal, but it looks like it was even better than I was thinking...

I was going to keep my MSI DUKE 1080 Ti as a backup but now I'm tempted to eBay it.

What do you think I could get for it in the States?

A lot of people don't know Zotac is actually the world's largest seller of Nvidia AIB products. They just don't have a big North American presence.

But since this thread about Murica and the tariffs anyways, carry on. Everyone has raised their prices now except EVGA but we should expect EVGA to respond soon enough because while EVGA is actually based out of the US, like every other company selling GPU's their AIB products are made in China.

I just ebayed my MSI GamingX 1080ti for $550.
Holy crap, they are going for that much? I have a Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080 Ti, I wonder how much I can get...

I'm sticking with my 2060 super. 3060ti for $900? Get the fuck out of here. Can't imagine what a 3070 or a 3080 will be raised to. You're better off getting a whole new PC at that point. The only upside to this is maybe the scalpers will forget about the PS5 and XSX now.

So just what what happened with 1080ti a few years ago? This is why I buy prebuilt PCs every few years and either give away or donate my previous PC that I upgraded with other parts. I'm probably never gonna build a PC from start again.

Never thought I'd see the day when a 60/60 Ti series graphics card (i.e. lower end product) would be over $300. Then Turing happened, and introduced us to $400 for the RTX 2060. Now this, with the RTX 3060 Ti, and it has essentially jumped 3 tiers to match the pricing of what the GTX 980 series almost used to cost.

they figured they better do the scalping themselves than letting retailers do it for you.

we've seen this with rdna2 GPU's already.

Palit is the worlds largest gpu seller. Because they own multiple brands.

If this is related to China tariffs won't it go back when Biden becomes acting president and the US goes back to pandering to China?

Is this price increase only in the US? Or is it worldwide?

Officially it's only in the US. It's related to tariffs to products made in China.
But I'm 100% sure local retailers here will be like "Oh the price went up in the US? Might as well raise it here too!".

Some background info; The US Dollar dropped 12% in value from March 2020 to now.

At this point with availability looking to be mostly shit until possibly summer of this year and pricing still insane due to the demand and lack of supply (and the likelihood that even after supply is fixed that stupid prices will remain) I almost feel like it is better to just wait this gen of GPUs out at this point and wait for RDNA3/Lovelace.

I mean we won't be dealing with the launch of new consoles taking up massive wafer numbers, Samsung will hopefully have gotten their shit together with their yields for 8nm/5nm or 6nm future wafers for 4000 series GPUs from Nvidia. If AMD moves to 5nm or 6nm for RDNA3 by that point hopefully Apple will have mostly or fully moved to 3nm TSMC so AMD should have much less capacity problems as they have now with a potential 7000 series. If AMD improves their release cadence like they are rumoured to be doing then there is a possibility we could see RDNA3 GPUs by the end of this year. Of course they could also slip to spring/summer 2022, nothing confirmed one way or the other.

Anyway my point is right now these supply issues are really making this gen GPU gen almost worth skipping as by the time cards are actually available in large quantities and prices maybe become less fucked up then new GPU releases could be on the horizon or only a few months away. Meh, bad times

I sold my used (though only for 10 months) 2070 non super for £410. I paid 350 for it back in February. I paid 650 for a 3080 FE. I feel really bad for the people trying to build a gaming rig now, especially in the US with the tariffs.

Stupid. I wasn't planning on upgrading anytime soon, but this basically solidifies that decision in more ways than one. I'll be just fine with my 2080 for awhile.

Lol, well I wasn't contemplating upgrading to a 3070 in March but maybe I'll just buy a SeX instead

No one should even be considering buying a PC or PC parts right now, and probably not for the entirety of 2021 or longer. Extreme shortages, tariffs, and stimulus checks will see people happily paying double or triple what they would have 5 or 10 years ago for the same level of time aligned relative performance. It's simply not worth it, buy a console and ride your old rig until the wheels fall off.

I am pretty happy with my 2070 Super, so no worries from me. By next year hopefully prices come back down, and there are enough "next gen" games to actually take advantage of the increased performance.

Considering the fact that the Witcher 3 doesn't run at full 60fps (at 4K) all the time with my 2080 Super, I shudder how PS5-gen games will fare on my PC at 4K.

I'll probably buy an 3080 RTX near summer or Christmas.

That's generally a good idea unless you just need the best of the best at all times. I'll usually wait 2-3 generations before upgrading either my CPU or GPU.

I have been content with my 2080. Though the increased prices of this market makes me want to take advantage of the strategy that I originally had. To buy a 3080 and then sell off my 2080. Now it seems I could basically get full value out of my 2080 but I would effectively have to get lucky to get a 3080. Been searching relaxed and my only thing is that if I see the opportunity then I will take it but that is that.

That's the thing is people thought prices would fall once ethereum mining fell off in 2018... but then nvidia released Turing and the prices were awful. Make some wonder how much of an effect mining had on how nvidia priced Turing (which indirectly affected ampere). I can only imagine Jensen saw people buying cards for twice what they were worth and figured he could get away with it to. Makes me worry, as he will probably see people buying all these RTX 3000 cards for $1k plus, and decide he can get away with it too.

Well, got my 3070 for 680€ (Vat included). Now it is 50€ more expensive.
At least I can sell my Vega 56 for more than I had paid 2 years ago (thx to the mining community). So I paid 100€ to much but get 100€ more than expected ^^
