Don't tell us Phil Hermen, show us. Wonder if Sony will continue the tradition of announcing/showing games waaay before they are ready, and then delay them a few times even further. Also, quality over quantity, 25 doesn't mean much if it's games like Knack, The Order, Killzone, TLG etc. games barely anyone cares about. But who knows, rumors say they want to get back into MP field, so chances are at least some of those 25 games are MP-oriented.

I don't care what anyone says, Killzone: Shadow Fall clapped cheeks, especially the multiplayer, and especially for a launch title.

sounds like a goal post to me.

It's not a goal post.. it's literally what I was describing when I said " stop forcing cutscenes/boring gameplay story segements".. gameplay story segments.. I described what I meant, I've talked about this repeatedly.

Literally don't even know what you mean by half the shit you say lol

But sure, Wolcen has a brief tutorial at the start.. would love that to be skippable too. Agree with the complaint.. but.. it's a tutorial.. you get told the controls.. use your powers for the first time.. it's not what I'm talking about. Thanks though for spending time googling games you'll never play to make some weird ass point lol

but lol at your effort.. enjoy being weird

edit: I do appreciate you pointing out they hide a skip cutscene thing in Spiderman.. good stuff.. and I already said you could in Days gone, repeatedly.. in the posts you must not have read lol ... weird.. a totally addressable thing, addressed by.. the fact the game has it lol

Way more likely to re-play spiderman though now.. now if they could remove those awful Mary Jane segments lol

These are terrible news actually.

25 titles is a really low number for both Sony owned studios and collabs - and it gets much worse when you take into account that they have to support PSVR2 as well.

Asobi (1)
Bend (1)
Guerrilla (2)
Insomniac (3)
London (1)
Media Molecule (1)
Naughty Dog (3)
PixelOpus (1)
Polyphony (1)
San Diego (1)
Santa Monica (2)
Sucker Punch (1)

TOTAL 18, and that only leaves room for 7 collabs with external studios, of which we already know the following:

Firewalk (1)
Haven (1)

TOTAL 20, only five potential partnerships remain and this is when shit hits the fan, as there are way more than five studios speculated/rumored to be working on Sony titles atm:

Unknown #1 (1)
Unknown #2 (1)
Unknown #3 (1)
Arrowhead (1)
Bluepoint (1)
Firesprite (1)
From Software (1)
Housemarque (1)
Kojima Productions (1)
Remedy (1)
Supermassive (2)
This 25 games are those in full production, if we are talking games in pre-production, or concept phase then there are easily double. Also not all rumours will be correct.

He said over 25, that means 25 or more. This also doesn't exclude titles from being developed later on, it's what they "currently" have.

So glad both companies have many games coming out along with new ones. Can't wait to see what both offer.

Issue is outside of known rumored bethesda titles, first party for Xbox we won't see for a while. I'll be surprised if we see any if the ones announced last year.

Expect halo and Forza. Anything on top of that will be a great surprise but I'm not holding my breath.

A lot of them would be small games like Entwined or PSVR games. I expect that only a handful will be full games.

Thus the point.

You can't even name a fucking game that doesn't have the thing just complained about.

The point is simply that such a thing is not exclusive to Sony and such a thing clearly must not be easily to remove or avoid if even your examples have them.

Thats it.....

Jesb Jesb New IP, The Last Of Us 3 and a part of them likely will work on the remake along with Bluepoint (very likely that Bluepoint does the remake, not confirmed, but likely imho)

'' In development '' is pretty meaningless tbh.
It can be anything from '' is just simply being discussed and will never see the light of day '' to '' is late in actual development ''.

You hear this all the time in the entertainment industry, '' we have 10 shows in development '' then only one or none actually comes out and projects get merged into one etc.

News to be excited for, hopefully we get to see these games soon.
Knowing Sony, they had a small portion of Devs working on these IP's while completing there past games. so most likely as soon as 2022 they will release some. im assuming here since they always do this

I'm confused, but Jason Schreier said Sony doesn't allow devs to make new IPs?
its called lies to make a Company look bad and there other good. Some ppl will believe them thats why they do it
Show, dont tell.
dont they always..... Source all last Gen. i think Sony earned the Right to talk

Do you really believe they can push out AAA-titles in that quantity on the market? That's what first-party video game releases are about: Quality over quantity and volume - I can't understand what you're supposed to be excited about. 🤔

And none of those are coming from Japan Studios.

At least one is from Japan Studio. Japan Studio won't stop making games.

Morales, Demon's Souls and Returnal aren't included in this list because they already were developed. This is a list of 1st and 2nd party games under development, so unreleased games to be published by Sony like Ratchet, Horizon 2, GoWR, GT7, etc.

Do you really believe they can push out AAA-titles in that quantity on the market? That's what first-party video game releases are about: Quality over quantity and volume - I can't understand what you're supposed to be excited about. 🤔
Herman Hulst said this list include big and SMALL games from several genres. He also said almost the half of them are new IPs. In the past he also said it includes single player and multiplayer games, and that some of them are more traditional as Uncharted, GT7, Sackboy or GoT can be, and other ones are more experimental as they did with Dreams, Death Stranding or Returnal.

All of them are probably third person no white male.
Kratos is a white male. And Sony published a ton of first person games. Unlike Microsoft or Nintendo they publish VR games and next year or so they will publish PSVR2, so some of these games will be first person.

25 titles is a really low number for both Sony owned studios and collabs - and it gets much worse when you take into account that they have to support PSVR2 as well.
Who care if it's 20 or 30? What matters mostly is the quality of the games.
Before this news we were expecting to have between 30 and 35 titles actively in development by PlayStation Studios.

Now we are getting 25ish.

Less games = bad.

That's the logic.

Hermen Hulst said they are developing MORE THAN 25 games. Not "25 games", not 25ish, ot 20: over 25. And these are only the games under development. They must have more already greenlighted/signed but planned to be developed once the dev team that currently is busy with other stuff completes their job so they can start developing another game.

In 5 years Sony released
Dreams - a game engine
Concrete Genie - an artsy indie game
Spiderman - Superhero open world game
God of War - a melee action game with RPG elements
Gran Turismo Sport - a sim racing game
Astrobot - a cutesy platformer
Ghost of Tsushima - open world samurai game
Last of Us 2 - A linear zombie action game with stealth elements
MLB - a baseball game
Returnal - A roguelike game
Detroit - a QTE game

Lots of variety their, some games are melee action, some games shooters, some games open world, some games linear etc. But I guess because some games share the same viewpoint and have a cinematic story they are considered the same lol.
Sony also published games like Death Stranding, several casual games for Playlink and many PSVR games of different genres.
They are the big publisher with a more diverse portfolio by far. Specially out of the 3 console platform holders.

What about Dreams, Grand Turismo and Sack Boy?

or Wipeout HD and MLB the Show?

I said on a previous post that Sackboy was a step in the right direction and that I forgot about Gran Turismo. Dreams would be the kind of project I'd want to see more, something harder to pin down. But sadly, like I also said, it seems Sony sends out these more exotic games to die.

Wipeout is a bad example since they killed that studio.

Guerrilla have had a second team making a game since 2019.

The game director they hired to lead was formerly the game director of Rainbow Six Siege, and also worked on Killzone 2, Watchdogs 2, old Splinter Cell, etc.

They had also hired a lead designer from the R6 Siege team.

Who knows what it'll be. Could be a new IP, or Killzone, or something else. Seems obvious its gonna have multiplayer.

That's my point, that's why i'm not paying too much focus on the number of the games, 25 games or more than 25 games, it's cool but it's about what those games are gonna be and what they will bring to gaming experience, because quality is also what matter and atually matters more, like i'd rather have 1 God Of War over 10 Crackdown 3 like games, and it's not just about being AAA ou AA, Street Of Rage 4 is for example one of my favorite game of the generation. And i'm big fan Vanillaware games (i wish Muramasa was release on PS4, i spammed Shu with this but didn't happen, if only ps5 can read Vita games)

Cool, but why should I care? I was told not to get excited about trailers of upcoming games. So why would I care about a number? These aren't even 25 1st party titles so do they include timed exclusives too? MS has about 10-ish 1P titles announced some with trailers.

Nice, but I would assume that both MS and Nintendo has a similar amount of projects in the pipeline.

Probably not the same amount of new IPs though. Between Sony, MS and Nintendo, Sony is probably the best when it comes to offering new IPs, which is great imo.

Game announcements and trailers by a proven company with years of GOTY track record = Get excited

Game announcements and trailers by companies that haven't released a good game in years = Do not get excited

And these 25 games do not include timed exclusives.

I honestly doubt this is completely true. Sony only has around 12 studios and we still have like last of us multiplayer, god of war, gt, last of us remakes, and mlb still being worked on so how does this work.

I think most people here are excited because of Sony's track record with producing quality titles along with this news. 25 potentially good to great games

Some of their studios have grown enough to work on 2 games at a time and they could be including 3rd party lifetime exclusives

I hope Hermen isn't gonna enter into the Phil spencer blabla game, with each week stating "we are doing..." "we are going to..." "we are planning to..." ect, it's cool to communicate time to time but i don't want hermen or Jim to become a Phil 2.0 or Aaron 2.0 either, just let the games speaks, that's what matters and what always been.

Can you.. read?

I'm talking about forced "story" segments like.. what I described, that are not featured in any of the games listed.

I don't care that other people find the games I like boring; some people don't find going on dates with your wife in Days Gone boring.. I do... none of the games I play outside of Sony's games, feature those types of forced story segments where they remove all of the gameplay features and have you walking/talking for minutes at a time.. I normally don't put up with that shit.. I laughed when Gears of War was praised for instance many years ago.

Really sad stuff man lol, get a grip.

I’ve played Wolcen. It’s a horrible Diablo clone which has a feature you hate, “forced story segments”. Chapter 1 literally has ~45 mins of forced story segments.

What’s naughty dog doing on ps5?
Don't know but i can tell you what they should be doing, PS5 patches for their last gen games.
It's ridiculous and honestly infuriating that Uncharted 4, Lost Legacy and TLoUII are not 60fps yet.

Uncharted 4 was announced as a 60fps title, was designed for 60fps, its multiplayer run at 60fps, we already saw how insane it would look:

And patches were released by friggin fans already:

The movie is coming soon, they recently updated their social medias with Uncharted 4 avatar and themes, and announced Prime 1 statues coming. Just move those lazy asses and release these damn patches ffs!

I can't see that, honestly. I'm expecting a more devastating gap between the two.
Recent hardware and software sales indicate a similar picture of how this generation is going to go.

Bethesda's acquisition was the big bombshell announcement for Xbox, but it seems like other than a few thousand hardcore fans on gaming forums, most people have already forgot about that like it doesn't matter at all in the grand scheme of things. I think that'll continue to be the case until at least MS drops a big 90+ Bethesda title as an Xbox console exclusive. If Sony could increase supply before that, they will be in a position to pretty much seal this generation for PlayStation by the end of 2022.

It'll be very interesting, and I hope gamers win in the end.

Wut? All of the cutscenes are instantly skippable... as is any dialog... WTF lol

The game was terribad at release, it's really fun now.. play it co-op with the wife.

Not that I give 2 shits that you think it's horrible.. the real question is why that guy cares so much that I dislike the forced story shit in Sony games.

The entire argument in this thread is so fucking weird lol.. I dislike all forced story segments in all games.. the longer, the worse they are.. this thread is about Sony games, most of their big ones have them.. and they are some of the worst style (I'd actually rather have a forced cut scene than to "play" for 5 minutes with a character that can't do anything but walk).I wish they'd cut it out. If you don't; then here is a cookie 🍪
