. They started adding non-white people for brownie points. The main markets for this game is North America and Europe so I wouldn't be surprised if 80% of the people who bought this game were white.

On Cortana it is weird seeing her more covered and they seem to have gone for the new lara croft style and made her bosom smaller. Why bother ranting, this is the norm these days.

Back on to halo review of the trailer, I would say I'm just not impressed. I think the issue I have is I want it to be more detailed and realistic but they seem to be going for a blend of cartoony and realism. I'm just kind of left feeling meh over the graphics and that was cutscenes I was watching which makes it even worse since it should look even better during that time. and yes I did end up watching the 4k version someone showed in this thread.

Last E3 Halo looked flat out embarrassing.

This E3 it looks OK. But they objectively also showed less, and in a much more edited format, so it's hard to draw many direct parallels.

I guess your comment was deleted, i was responding to whatever low quality comment you had. Still love you though! 💕
Lol wut? You mistaking me for someone, I guess. I never posted on this thread before you mentioned me.

I was posting in the yesterday's pinned Xbox conference thread, and all of my posts there are intact.

Barcelona, Spain, Europe.
I don't think offence comes into it. A military officer that happens to be an A.I construct is deciding to "wear" a uniform that reflects her function. Presumably even if you are a naturist, you would grant others the right to wear clothes if they want to.
I am not a naturist and Cortana in Halo CE is not naked, she is an AI with a holographic avatar.
This newer AIs in the Halo games seem ridiculous to me. One dressed as an early XX century pilot, another as an officer... They feel like avatars of a free to play game.
And it all comes down to removing any resemblance of a naked human body.

I’m a sucker for sci-fi shooters, the little story bit feels like soemthing out of destiny and I’m hyped.

Why is it ridiculous that an A.I persona would choose to represent themselves with clothes on?

Give the next halo to Bungie like seriously this was a cluster fuck from start to finish , multi does look fun but still no release date makes me worried that some cyberpunk lvl fuckery would take place on release
Halo master chief collection is fine now but it didn't worked literally for years
Fuck 343 halo deserves better treatment than this

I was hoping for not yet another Cortana rescue mission...It kind of sounds to be going that way.

Ah well. Still excited to see more.

I hope we get more of an explanation as the game continues. "She got deleted" is overly simplistic way to close out her story and a fuck you to people that sadly played Halo 5.

Didn't you hear where the new AI said she was supposed to get deleted as well when the mission ended, but she was still there, and Chief hadn't brought Cortana back to Infinity? She's not gone by this cutscene, and seems to be calling him (once more)

What if I told you some of the most important characters in the original trilogy were black or mixed. And what about that 20%?

People like this make no sense. "On screen diversity doesn't matter, can't they identify with anyone?" at the same breath "OMG THEY ADDED NON-WHITES THE HORROR". What do you want, an all white game? The black drill sergeant or whatever she is seemed more believable to me than the unearned abrasion of Sarah Palmer anyways.

I'd say cool. I'm not a halo fan. The majority of the characters I know is from clips I've seen online.

I was generally talking about AAA games in general when it comes to the screen diversity. That is pretty much an Ubisoft conference. I generally don't care if a game is all white or all black or mixed as long as it makes sense and doesn't feel forced. As someone who grew up reading fantasy/sci-fi, comics, and watching old action movies, anime, and martial arts movies which starred either white or asian characters I could still enjoy it while being black. I may not identify with the characters but I can enjoy that content. Needing to identify with a character is just weird to me.

Let's not go any further into this.

Why do people keep saying that the new A.I. is Cortana?
She explicitly says she's only mimicking the original in order to retrieve it and later dispose of her.

Other than that, she looks, sounds, and acts nothing like Cortana.

If you told me that was Halo 5 I would believe you. I'm not sure why MS won't move on from this franchise. Milk that IP I guess?

It’s a money making franchise that has a dedicated studio as wel as all kinds of merch and other media. Why would they stop making Halo if it makes them money?

Scale of things we can approach in the environment, massive draw distance from which we can clearly see many areas of interest and then go there, and we are literally on the most mysterious and significant Halo ring in the entire franchise, Zeta Halo.

There is an amazing level of detail present throughout the environment. There is a geometric complexity to objects in playable spaces that has never been approached in any prior Halo title with this kind of scale. In the 8 minute campaign demo we saw, there was a massive crashed ship right in the player's view that they could have gone to and explored, but they chose not to. Such a thing is a sight you would never see in a previous Halo game without it being the primary focus of that scene or the location where you HAD to go. The closest equivalent to me would be Halo 4's opening scene where the forward unto dawn crash landed onto the forerunner shield world requiem.

When we see an environment that looks like this, it screams there are things to explore and find and discover, as confirmed by the game developers. Just the small snippets we've seen of campaign are already more immediately explorable than anything in any past Halo title. With the various sandbox tools or equipment at our disposal we have a means of living out the fantasy of being a spartan super soldier like we read about in the books. This game is all about making us believe we are truly the Master Chief, this super soldier, and this game is perfectly designed to help deliver that combat simulation.

There has never been allied bases like this before in a Halo game that we could go to and seemingly prepare ourselves from or plan from. Beyond just planned encounters, it appears there are random encounters to find in a world this large. There are underground caves, there are mysterious humming noises that will lead us in directions if we choose to follow it, there are smoke signals with marines in danger in need of rescuing, there are flocks of Halo sentinels responsible for the care taking of the Halo that will randomly pop up and we can choose to follow them to see where they go, see what they lead us to, there are abilities and upgrades to be found in the environments. This game doesn't just tell its story by using words and dialogue, but by actually showing us with the environments. If you love Halo fiction, if you enjoy Halo at its very best gameplay wise, then everything about the design of this game should create excitement.

The artstyle is a mixture in between something that straddles realistic, but something that straddles a form of art or some kind of animation.

If you were a fan of previous Halo games, that's what any Halo fan would be directly comparing this to, understanding how it changes what's been doing in prior titles. It unleashes the sandbox to create more exciting scenarios than what was previously possible in the more linear and smaller past Halo games.

Super interesting, thanks for the details, yes there is a lot I missed on those videos, hopefully, it can succeed to new gamers by being F2P. Thanks again for the detailed explanation.

I honestly didn't even do it justice, but that's basically where the excitement is coming from. From a purely graphics standpoint there are any number of games that may jump out to people as more visually impressive, but my view on that is that those other games aren't Halo, which is why I only see Halo in the context of being a jump over previous Halo games. I see Halo as a different, more unique experience that satisfies a gaming desire to simulate being a spartan super soldier in a universe that is just different from all these other games.

Does it stand out as much as Stalker 2 or what we recently saw from Starfield? Perhaps not, but the difference maker for me is none of those other games are Halo, they don't/won't play like Halo, and none of them are about Master Chief's continuing story. Halo will accomplish what it needs to in its combat sandbox, and then help expand on the story being told through gameplay when we get a break to see one of its beautiful cinematic moments.

I am beyond disappointed.

A cinematic, a politically dresses up Cortana and some multiplayer cut shots.
Wow, they outdone themselves, this was worse than last year. I thought I could not get disappointed and yet, here I am.
Why do I get the vibes that this forum is full of horny teens who want butt naked women in their videogames.

Most of the people making games in the West are white men and most of the customer base in the West are white men. I love diversity though, just not forced (down my throat) ;) If I create something, the odds are I put myself into it, it's only natural, what's not natural, is an industry dominated by white men (in the west) having less and less white male protagonists, same goes for other forms of entertainment, if you don't see the agenda, then I recommend opening your eyes, unless you just prefer to turn a blind eye...

Honestly, your reply makes you sound like a racist, if you don't like white people, maybe you should stick to entertainment from other countries...countries like China or India that have almost no diversity to speak of across the board, but hey, not too many white people for you to have to stomach!

I… the new cortana looked like a man to you? What cus she has smaller tits? Who are you guys fuckin with
She looked drained of beauty, almost as if she fused with Aloy...Don't believe their is an agenda there? Look at Cortana in Halo 4, then in Halo 5, you see it across the industry, can't have female protagonists be beautiful or sexy (or have any flaws), it's some feminist nonsense.

you forgot about japanese games. They fetishize white people. Most of their protagonists are white. And btw China is the biggest gaming market in the world right now. And it will become even bigger as it becomes more developed. Hollywood already started to cater to them. Games will follow.

Regarding Japan, nice to know someone still likes us pasty homogenous white people I guess (although I think it's more accurate to say they make their characters lighter skinned usually, an East Asian trait (I could explain it if you want) and they have a love of the USA (which is mostly white), Japan is an exception though I think, you won't find the latter in many other countries, even if they secretly love American culture ;) (I'm not American btw)

So we can expect all protagonists to be Chinese one day I guess, yayyy...all bow before our new Communist masters...but seriously, I'm aware of how the west is pandering and selling their soul and future to that dictatorship, they will live to regret selling out, mark my words! Don't count on them reciprocating (when they do aim content at the west, think imperial, not love affair), they are constantly bombarded with propaganda to hate the US and they are incredibly nationalistic, they also love to infuse their output with the aforementioned propaganda, the CCP even admit it. God bless the Chinese people though, my venom is not aimed at them per say.

Cortana was never naked, she was a hologram with a body made out of characters. Now it is dressed like there was something to hide. What does it have to do with being horny or a teenager?
Actually now she looks a lot more like what military would actually make their AI look like, not some bootylicious hologram you can perve over. They way they made her look like a pornstar in 4 was just cringe.

People always complain about not having enough realism and when they get it it's not enough tits and ass for them. Videogames in the past were never realistic in this regard, shoving as much tits and ass as they could in videogames that had serious undertone.

Thanks for sharing. Staten's line about more for us to discover is concerning to me. When Staten was still with Bungie, they pulled the same line with Destiny 1, and then after Staten left Bungie, they pulled the same line with Destiny 2. Both times, Bungie claimed they were keeping everything secret so that players had more to discover when the game came out. What players discovered was that Destiny 1 had no story, and that Destiny 2 was a disaster. I really, really hope Staten isn't falling back into that pattern.
Staten left Destiny after those asshats at Activision got rid of the story/lore he made and they axed Marty and didn't use his original music (he had something else originally made for Destiny IIRC).

A military AI would probably not have a body.

If you thought Cortana was sexy and perverted in Halo CE, then probably the problem is yours

If they did give AI a body then they definitely wouldn't make her look like a booty call. The new model is much more realistic in that regard. I'm not sure how saying that it's my problem is any form of argument on your side. The point is the new AI is much more consistent with the theme of the game (serious military space shooter), no getting away from that.

The look of Cortana always stood out ftom the rest of female characters in the game, especially how oversexualised she was in 4. The new look brings uniformity, consistency and fits with the overall look and theme of the game much better.

Put a screenshot of the first person perspective, it looks straight up a small improvement over halo 5 no wonder its 120fps free to play
But my question is why are people surprised by this? This is a cross-gen title, it has to work with the XB1. It was always going to pan out this way.

Halo Infinite is not a showcase for the XSX, and it was never going to be. I think people were expecting or hoping this wouldn't be true, but they were always on the losing side of that bet imo.

XSX will have other games which feel that need and, eventually, a next-gen exclusive Halo of some kind.
