I beat this on Switch way back at launch. Are there major improvements with the PS/XB versions? The game seemed to look and run well on Switch, as I recall.

We won't ever be given that information. And, it's hard to say anyways. Some games just sell better or worse on certain platforms. We can't just assume of the game wasn't on GP that an equal percentage of Xbox players would have bought the game outright - could be more or less.

With it debuting at no 8, in this case I’d say the MS money well surpassed what they missed out on.

It depends on how many copies sold here.
100K copy at 25$ is $2.5m. If MS pays them $10m, that is 400k copies sold. In this case, MS would win, if the game sells overall 200k copies.
Now you also need to add, the xbox sales. 50k sales is $1.25m before the cut. Now that money would add to xbox gamepass money, and Hades devlopers would make more money with xbox, compared to playstation. They will need to sell 400k copies on playstation, if they want to match gamepass money.

Again nobody has said it has no effect on retail, since Gamepass is a digital service, it’s likely to push people more towards digital and away from retail, as they use it and get more comfortable with it.
Overall sales aren't affected by whether a person chooses to buy a game digitally or physically though.

Hades is not the kind of game that sells boxed copies. its a classic indie digital title.
The boxed sales gap is odd but I think it's because xbox u.k players buy most of their copies digitally. That ratio simply does not make any sense whatsoever.

Phil's quote is referring to overall sales and references the US NPD which includes digital sales. When referring to game pass helping sell the included game and/or other games in general, Microsoft is referencing digital sales too. Not UK physical sales only, lol..

Some people like boxes plus someone could stop subscribing to Gamepass and just want some of its games. Then later down the line there's the possibility of buying a used copy for cheap.

You get a 20% discount if you already pay for the subscription that gives you access to the game. Man sales must be huge, it’s big brain math go check it out.

Those people wont bother with gamepass. As that goes against what they like. Especially xbox players. If you are xbox player, who has gamepass, your chance of being a physical copy lover is low. Because all 1st party games are on gamepass from now on. You would be bound to digital world that way.
Non xbox gamepass users are more likely to buy Physical games, than those who have gamepass.

No. What they said is people who subscribe to GamePass spend more money overall. Not surprising since a lot of the games that go to the service are Games as a Service with the associated microtransactions and paid dlc.

Didnt we have a thread on the thermals of the consoles that was multiple pages even if both consoles were well within their working temps.
P.S Hades isnt even in the top 50 most played games on Xbox in the UK so im not shocked the sales werent amazing.

I own the game on Steam. I bought it on PS5 to go after those silly platinum trophies. Go figure. When I’m done I can sell it if I want. That’s why.

Game comes out physical on Xbox and PS. Xbox users can play without any cost thanks to GamePass. OR, if they play and enjoy it, they can purchase the digital copy they already have installed on their console, at a discount. OR, they can go pay more at retail to have a disc.
Not to mention, PS outnumbers Xbox in the UK by quite a lot. Idk why anyone is ever surprised in these threads.
