It's really difficult to convince (or in fact communicate and get a response) a legal department that a reverse engineering open source project such as this actually benefits the company rather than hurts sales.
Since users have to own a copy of the game already to make use of the mod, one would guess that this should suffice for Take Two to back off (or work with them for a better result for everyone involved).
