Consoles
Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console in the UK in November, according to GfK Entertainment and reported by GamesIndustry. This is after many months in third place. Sales for the console were 175 percent month-on-month.

The Xbox Series X|S came in second place with sales not too far behind the Switch. Sales for the Xbox Series X|S consoles were up 105 percent month-on-month driven by a £60 price discount during Black Friday.

The PlayStation 5 came in third place with sales up 71 percent month-on-month. This was driven by the release of God of War: Ragnarök as the bundle including the game accounted for 38 percent of all PS5's sold during November.

There were just under 372,000 video game consoles sold in the UK in November, which is up 113 percent compared to October. However, sales were down compared to November 2021.

Software
GSD data shows that just over 4.3 million physical and digital games were sold in the UK in November, which is down 7.3 percent year-on-year. The main reason for the drop is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II released in October, while last year Call of Duty: Vanguard released in November.

1.82 million of the games sold were digital, which is down 10 percent compared to last year. This compared to 2.5 million physical games sold, which is down four percent year-on-year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II remained as in first place on the software charts by a "big margin."

God of War: Ragnarök debuted in second and after three weeks sales are tracking 44 percent higher than God of War (2018).

Here are the software (digital + physical) charts:

So Switch ended up being the winner of November in the UK, with the Xbox Series close to it which reflect on what we saw for the UK sales report on Black Friday, where the situation was exactly the same, with Switch winning UK BF and Xbox nipping on its heels. The PS5 was third on BF by a decent margin and it seems t happened for the month as well.

This makes the upcoming US sales report very interesting because the US to usually reflect what happens on Black Friday for the monthly sales too, though there are various factors to consider that aren't in the UK. It seems to larger stock of Series X and the Series S deals did their job for November.

As for software, Modern Warfare II was number one for the month by a "big margin" we don't know how big but based on the wording, even though GOW was strong, COD still was notably ahead in sales by a great distance.

COD is back, if that wasn't clear before it's clear now. This franchise isn't going anywhere and has once again faces another period of "it's declining and will be dead soon" to turning around and jumping back up, this time possibly bigger than ever before.

Other software surprises, Sonic Frontiers is number 7 for the MONTH. Of course, below GOW and Fifa I'm assuming sales of the lower ranked games aren't that high given the comments about MWII, but that's still impressive in some ways. if NPD has it chart than I think this may show a possibility of a comeback.

Grand Theft Auto V still in the top 10.

As for PS5, it looks like 38% of PS5 sales may have been related to the release of GOW, which is crazy because that means without it the PS5 may have done worse. Meanwhile, Xbox is up over 100% with uh, and Nintendo is also up over 100%.

The upcoming US report is really going to be an exciting time. All the predictions people though would be safe have been wrong with the UK so far, and the same may happen with the US.
