I bought Syndicate for PC on Amazon yesterday and it's coming in the mail tomorrow. It just looks good. I'm surprised he didn't mention Singularity.

I'd like to add Red Steel 2 to that list. What a great game, weighed down by the baggage of being associated with the "Red Steel" name.

I find it offensive that this list has the audacity to imply I didn't play earth defense force 5

Whilst not quite as popular as its first-person counterpart, third-person shooters are still perennially prevalent. Taking the form of an over-the-shoulder, from behind, or from above camera angle, third-person shooters have one over on first-person in that you’ve scope for seeing more of the surrounding environment, offering varying degrees of strategy via anticipation of enemy location.

There’s a seamless blend of action, movement, and fluidity in third-person games, with the best of the genre utilizing environments to mix up gameplay.

Syndicate was awful. One of the worst shooters I played on 360. My buddies and I all agreed. Maybe on PC it was way better, but on 360 it played and looked bad.

Out of all shooters I played that era I dont think any other had so much clutter on screen. There were so many numbers, icons, HUD all juking and janking on screen when all I wanted to do is ADS.
