The correct narrative is we aren't going to see the potential of Xbox's output until maybe next year

Meanwhile we're just going to have to settle with another Halo from lame ass 343 and no one is wowed by that shit lmao

Horizon 2 will have bigger sales fyi lmao

I'm sure you'll be able to brag about some MAU metric microsoft posts about the multiplayer though
:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Funny how sales is a valid metric only when it suits, but if I was to highlight that the Halo series has sold 80 million plus, compared to the God of War series selling 40 million (including GoW 2018), it would be crickets. This despite the fact that there’s more GoW games than there is Halo games. And we ignore that Halo: MCC has sold between 3 and 4 million copies on Steam alone, more than Horizon Zero Dawn, so please don’t talk about MuH tRAJecToRy.

again halo is the bigger franchise that will release on any next gen console i the next 8/10 months. It will sell gangbuster in console and on pc . so I don't see the problem honestly

I’m not salty at all. I’ve never enjoyed Halo so it means nothing to me. But let’s not pretend Halo is still relevant. It hasn’t been for a long time.
I feel they have an enormous amount to prove with Infinite after last years showing but surely if the game ends up being really good it could do very well, don't you think?

Show some sales numbers. Back up your claim:
The only numbers I even remember were 5M after 3 months.

"First-week global sales of Halo 5 software and hardware totaled more than US$400 million, making it the fastest-selling Xbox One exclusive."
"Halo 5 made the biggest sales record in Xbox history, and was also the best-selling digital title."
"Within its first five days of release, Halo 5 was the best-selling game of October in the United States, according to NPD Group. In November, Halo 5 was the eighth best selling game according to NPD's figures."
"Frank O'Connor said that the game managed to sell 5 million copies in the first 3 months of its release"

I know. It's just funny to watch. But the more it gets exposed, the higher the probability of him getting removed.

Halo Franchise sales in 2016 were 70 million when Halo 5 hit 5 million

it took another 5 years for that to reach another 11 million, this includes the Halo PC releases, Halo 5, Reach, Master Chief collection etc

Horizon Zero Dawn (one game) passed 10 million in 2 years

Do the math

I just did

It's your responsibility to now accept it

No you didn't. You posted vague numbers with no context. Unless you have solid Halo 5 sales numbers (which you don't), your claims are - at best - guesswork.

Everything suggests that Halo 5 sold around 9-10 million copies. Outsold by Horizon? Possible. GoT? Not a chance in hell, and we both know that.

Halo 5 might be higher sales numbers but Ghosts is selling faster, so it will outsell Halo

Reminds me of this gem of a photo:

Lol “best launch line up position” mother fuckers don’t even have a single new first party exclusive game and the system has been out since November.

Good. So we agree that your original claim was BS.
Alright it was factually wrong but again that's compared to a new IP launched less than a year ago.Halo used to be way more popular than it is now.
But it may also be because I'm not american, because in Europe Halo was huge back in the original Xbox and the 360.Now? not so much anymore MCC and 5 (maybe halo 4 too I don't remember)did a pretty big dent in its popularity here.
So while it is not all doom for the Halo franchise (even though depending on how catastrophic the situation at 343 is, it could eventually bring an end or a really steep decline to the franchise popularity.....let's hope not)Halo is definitely on a decline, eve moreso considering that it is now also on PC.

What is presently unknown is Bethesda ready to show and release Starfield late 2021?

Xbox will be fine with Crossfire X, Stalker 2, Halo and potentially Starfield all coming in hot after the summer. Since there all exclusives, the impact of delays will not be a big deal.

Microsoft has to show advancement with development at E3 though, CGI bull needs to stop. Some gameplay even if its short one showing off fable and Perfect dark at E3
I agree, cg tone setters mean nothing, the game may as well not exists. Microsoft leans on them like a crutch. Show REAL gameplay on TARGET hardware or show nothing at all. Cg trailers are a waste of time. If all you wanna do is announce a game without telling us anything about it just show a logo on twitter. It would be less of a waste of everyones time

Well to be fair and perfectly honest I can understand a CGI trailer for a heavy name developped by an already proven studio.Because I understand that they have to show something but I also understand that it is sometimes better to show a CGI than a lackluster gameplay put together a few week before a show.
Because a bad gameplay reveal is worse than a CGI not showing much. And I think if Halo showed us only the first CGI trailer but at the console reveal instead of one (or two?) years prior while announcing it to this year (giving 343 time to fix it)it would have been much better received.

Did GoT sell more than 5 million copies in 3 months? Also, no. Selling faster does not automatically equal better numbers in the long run
The problem here is that we don't even have Halo 5 numbers, the only official number I could find was more than 5 millions, bear in mind that it doesn't say between 5 and 6 millions just that it is more than 5, it could be 10, it could be 5.3 (which I doubt).
The other number that we have is GOT a 6.5 millions in march of this year so in about 9 months.Sure halo is higher but I don't think any new exclusive IP could have sold a comparative number back in the OG Xbox and 360 days.

I agree. Im excited for infinite, but infinite is also infuriating in some ways. Maybe it was misguided, but myself and a lot of people believed that the footage shown in the first two “in engine” trailers were represenative of how the game would look on next gen consoles. But ultimatley once we saw the gameplay reveal i think the harware limitations of what was actually possible for a game developed across xbox one and series x settled in.

i think im getting frustrated with trailers that mis represent the visual quality of a game, on top of
Cg trailers, some times it feels like publishers want to show us everything except the game actually running on the hardware you own.

examples like cyberpunk, the witcher 3, anthem, watchdogs, the division, ect are all very frustrating. They may come from a place of good intentions and wanting to impress, but ultimatley it can make the publisher look like a huge liar when the final product looks significantly worse.

that being said, if these early screens are anything to go by, it seems the extra year for visual polish will bring infinite closer to those initial in engine trailers, but i dont think it will reach those heights, even if it ends up looking great regardless

Yep let's hope 343 gets its shit together and fixes Halo because no matter your side a good game being published is better than a bad one for the industry and gamers.

Damn 9 pages of people bitching and moaning about Xbox taking long on their games, if only people realized that rushing out games only results in games like Cyberpunk 2077. Is that what ya'll want to happen? Also, let's talk about the games from Nintendo and Sony, some games are about a year or two away but no one bats a fucking eye over it. But when it comes to Xbox, all of a sudden people think Microsoft is dying or some shit. Ya'll are fucking obnoxious. I swear and it gets tiring.

But they have Bethesda. But somehow that is not enough for you stupid fanboys.
Thats nice, name calling, you really made your point.

the next bethesda game is exclusive to playstation. Its not me being a fan boy, its pointing out microsofts biggest failing around the launch of the series x (disclaimer: i have a series x and a ps5, i use my series x more). Gamepass is great, but the fact that they have nothing new yet to show off their new consoles is embarassing. I dont accept covid as the blanket excuse. Sony was able to get NEW games out for the ps5 at launch despite covid, microsoft couldn’t do that, they knew this launch was coming, they were ill prepared.
Im not downplaying gamepass, i fucking love gamepass, but gamepass and bc arent doing as much for my new console as brand new first party games that actually push the new tech.

So let me get this straight

The ascent doesn't count cos it's AA made by second party

Returnal counts cos it's AA and made by a second party

Halo infinite doesn't count cos it's the 9th game in the series

New god of war counts even though they've only ever shown a splash logo

Fable doesn't count cos it's only shown CG

Horizon west counts cos it showed some cg

Oddworld counts cos it's AA filler trash released day one on sub

Medium doesn't count cos it's filler trash released day one on sub

Flight Sim doesn't count cos all you do is fly around and see no one else in game

Destruction all-stars counts cos all you do is drive around and there's literally no one else playing

Lol nail on head

I don't disagree. There are very few official numbers WRT Halo 5, which is why the entire premise of his argument was flawed.

GoT and Horizon sold/sells very impressively, and were most likely also better games than Halo 5.

I'm sure you're trying to be funny somehow - or maybe you're just desperate for likes - but making false claims about sales numbers does not equal "truths".

I think what makes alot of people skeptical about Starfield releasing this year is there hasn’t been a single moment of gameplay shown yet. Correct me if I’m wrong there, but I can’t remember seeing any gameplay yet.

When a game like Deathloop is receiving delays and there has been an absolute ton of gameplay shown for that game, it seems hard to believe that Starfield is going to come out this year.

I do recall Fallout 4 having a pretty short window between reveal and release date so I guess it’s not entirely impossible. But with Covid complications that have seemingly impacted almost all developers it feels increasingly unlikely.

Bethesda has a track record of waiting and then blowing it out with game play. Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Doom, Doom Eternal, Wolfentstein 2 all followed this cycle.

Yes covid could throw a wrench into things. But it very well could have a short reveal to release launch cycle.

is strange because the only people not satisfied with the series x and its games, just happens to be Sony fanboys. I have not yet seen a single ms fan complaining about what is happening on the platform, on the contrary they are very happy On the other hand, seeing the petition against Jim Ryan and so many other discussions it seems Sony users are not happy either of what PlayStation is doing ahhahah
