I mean. In case of Perfect Dark there is no doubt that game is 2023 at the earliest. But Everwild and Fable? Both of those games are in development for 4-5 years and i fully expect Everwild to be released in 2022 (maybe 2023 because of COVID delays).

So, XGS and Bethesda in my opinion (excluding XGS publishing)

Halo Infinite - 2021

Psychonauts 2 - 2021

Forza Horizon 5 - 2021/2022

Starfield - 2021/2022

Everwild - 2022

Wolfenstein 3 - 2022

Arkane Austin game - 2022

Deathloop (after one year PS5 exclusivity) - 2022

Hellblade II - 2022

Avowed - 2022/2023

Fable - 2023

GhostWire Tokyo (after one year PS5 exclusivity) - 2023

New Zenimax Online game - 2023

Forza Motorsport - 2023

Compulsion new IP - 2023

Perfect Dark - 2023/2024

Gears 6 - 2023/2024

State of Decay 3 - 2024

inXile new IP - 2024

New id Software game - 2024

Indiana Jones - 2024

New game from Roundhouse Studios - 2024

The Outer Worlds II - 2024

TES VI - 2025

And that's damn strong flow of new games if you ask me. And of course i forgot things like that new small game from Obsidian (Project Missiouri), Project Mara, new game from Double Fine etc etc.

I thought it was pretty shit tbh

I hope they're going to go all in with a big budget for the second. I don't want to see them marketing it as another low budget AAA game like they did with the first

See, I knew it was an indie game and my expectations were realistic. I really enjoyed it but of course it was far from perfect. Also the limitations on the first will not be excusable on the sequel considering its going to have a larger budget.

We bought and played the game, which gave them much needed success and saved the company from closing.

Where will you be when the sequel releases?

Ninja Theory easily met and surpassed the number of sales needed to profit from Hellblade (500k).
They could've stayed independent but every (self funded) release would always be a gamble in today's industry.

It sounds like you're just mad Microsoft was the one who believed in their talent enough to acquire them.
What? Dude shall we go back in time to all the Xbox hate heavenly sword got? And then there follow ups that came to both platforms?

so before you start running them feelings this was , check your history of facts as all of a sudden they’re god tier devs now when Xbox gets them due to a trailer that we all know won’t come close to it when the games released!

Congratulations you read the title of the thread. Now try actually discussing something about what was said in the video and thread instead of doing what you usually do which is come in with console war fodder of attacking people and giving laughing emoji reactions to posts.

Basically just described yourself, congratulations. Already spoke on the context of what this thread was made of. Keep it moving, you're doing nothing but derailing trying to play hero.

There's a lot of hoping. And crossfire isn't going to make someone buy a sub to gamepass. The reason They saw such big surge in past year or so was from moves with adding EA PLAY, red dead 2, bethesda titles. Again stalker though a fan favorite of a old series of games. Not in the same league as halo for mass appeal. People like us are hyped, but outside of clicks like gaf and podcasts. People have no clue about stalker since it's more of a pc title.

And that game I thought was still a ways off because they started using unreal engine.

Guess we will see. But my get is halo, starfield being the big titles this fall. And I for see some big paid releases on gamepass to fill out rest of slate.

Stalker 2 looks great from what they showed so far.

Facial animations dare i say are even better than Hellblade 2.

It's one of games i keeping a close eye on. Could be a sleeper hit for Xbox?

MS doesn't seem to manage their studios very well lately. They didn't release much for the last half of last gen, yet still didn't have anything ready for launch this gen. And what did release was mainly mediocre. Oh, correction, they were going to release the hot mess that was Halo: Infinite at launch, until it got backlash for looking like a 360 remaster.

Gamesindusty.biz: Biggest announced Xbox exclusives are years away

context of the video? Lol read the title and listen to what was timestamped. Clearly a thread posted for warring.
What?? No, not in the slightest. What's timestamped is what's quoted in the OP, nobody ever provided rough estimates for release windows of those games and here they are from what could be an informed source.

Obviously, this subject can be triggering for many people but does it mean it's not worth discussing?

Look we all know that games take a long time to make but this thread has 'concern' written all over it! Plus the biggest announced Xbox exclusives are surely Halo Infinite and Starfield, not the three games listed here.

you're right and I appreciate the title change as the initial wording was even worse. My bad. But don't you think calling them "SOME of Xbox biggest exclusive" be accurate?

I don't see what this brings new to the table. Developing games takes a long time and a pandemic on top doesn't help.
There will be enough content for Xbox customers and I fail to see how it matters if it's first party or third party. Game Pass is the main differentiation right now and I can already play games on Xbox that I can't play on PlayStation and vice versa.

Man, it must be really tough to only be able to enjoy games if they are big dick AAAAAAA console exclusives. I have so many games in my backlog, I could last literally another 10 years without a single new game being released. Have fun waiting for exclusives.

Yeah I don't get it. Some people are acting like Sony will stop releasing games for the PS5. I don't see how either platform won't have content for it in the near future. The quantity and the quality remains to be seen though.

In terms of sales and mass appeal Forza Horizon, Halo and Starfield are clearly some of MS' biggest exclusives - and they shouldn't be too far away. There's nothing wrong with having game announcements for the foreseeable future.

Nobody ever said Perfect Dark, Indiana Jones or Fable would drop in 22. They were announced just recently. Also, nobody said TLOU3 or Spiderman 2 would release that year. MS has 23 studios atm that will deliver a steady stream of games starting this fall (release of Halo Infinite).

Good thing multiplats exist for both platforms when exclusives are not available.

MS is going to depend exclusively on one exclusive in 2021.

They are confident cause it has worked before as well.

Right now it's all gamepass choo choo.

I would be concerned if nothing comes in 2022. They have said cross gen period will be over by then.

The game mechanics are exactly what I’m saying.

The reason it’s the highest revenue on the (US) store (in 2019) is because it’s exclusive. NBA2k and Madden split their sales across Xbox. This isn’t a game that will drive higher mtx than those - don’t kid yourself.
Read and note the wording. This isn't highest revenue from game sales.

This is:
"Improving Competence in GaaS revenue"
"Highest paying user spend* of any sports title on the US store"
"*Comparison in PlayStation Store 6 weeks after launch"

If this was game sales why 6 weeks after game launch? Launch would create much more revenue. Why improved competence in GaaS? What's so GaaS about game sales. Why "highest paying user spend" instead of "highest revenue sports game"?

I mean it's great that the game isn't grindy and that's not my intention but this is referring to high MTX revenue and for MLB and MS that was what they want from offering it on gamepass as it far outweighed game sales on their platform.

if MS keeps getting major 3rd party games to show up on Gamepass they stay in a great place. Might as well be an exclusive at that point. Just bad optics for major games to be free on one platform and not on another.

My guess is Halo Infinite gets annual campaign DLC and other side events a la Destiny 2.

Hellblade2 is at best 2022 game, game seemed to still be in concepting phase last we saw from it.
Starfield is probably pretty good game if rumors of Sony wanting to moneyhat it are true, no clue when it will release.
From what we saw from MS showcases Psyconauts2 is probably the game closest to be ready, I think they will release it on stage at E3.(Available next day on GP)

Tales from my ass.

Since MS strategy is based on subs. What game will make someone continue their subscription or make them subscribe?

It's not hellblade that would move the needle to make someone sign up for gamepass.

Halo would move the needle. Hellblade has a decent following but to say it has more star power than something like Forza/halo is reaching.

Sony has shown more known games or should I say games with more mass appeal.

That's why Microsoft made deals for outriders, MLB. And I think we have not seen the ends of these deals for this year. If their first party is that far behind, then they are going to have to spend a fuck ton to compete software wise.
isn't like the only big games on gp will be ms ones there are several rumors of a "famous" fps that will go to GP on day One .. as well as stalker 2 . halo will be the real big hitter between sony and ms games there's nothing in this year on next gen console that is comparable to halo and being on pc from day one it wi be a 100% hit we can bet on it. the new Hellblade could be an hit too we never know seen that now is backed with ms money ....forza if release in time would be the first first party racer so will take attention. Gp must have diversity to function .. big and small titles and the advantage and certainly also in the price let's not forget that on ps5 mbl21 and outriders cost 140 euros ... on xsx 9.99. Past this year ms really has nothing to worry about

So you think Christopher Dring of gameindustry.biz is being paid by Sony to say these things?

Confused Tom Hanks GIF
Who knows?
Anything is possible but I will say the timing of these things seem to be very suspicious.
Any time Xbox gets any type of positive sentiment there is always an industry article out there to make sure they keep it in check by spreading some type of Xbox negativity...

I’m seeing a lot of praise for Spencer & co. Honestly, I’m waiting to see how first party turns out in the next few years, it was a farce at times with Xbox One. The almost constant talk about backwards compatibility was jarring to me.

They need to deliver this generation as I feel they are fortunate to have as many fans give a shit as they do given what has happened , him in particular.

Gamepass or not, a better first party is the one thing he needs to bring. I don’t want another generation of people saying “wait till E3” “wait till the VGAs” that was borderline farcical at times . If you are fan of something and care enough, you want them to do better . That’s how I feel about Xbox anyway for what it’s worth.

Everyone is talking about AAA games and I'm just here still waiting for Tunic and The Last Night lol. I have high hopes for Infinite though. Regardless of the campaign I'm going to have a ton of fun playing multiplayer.

Phil: We have always been about trying to create hits that really push our platform and reach millions of people. I've never looked at our first-party mandate as trying to simply pump out content that only a few select people will go out and buy. If you look at our top franchises in our first-party, they do incredibly well relative to other first-party franchises. If you rank our top four franchises against the other franchises, our top 4 outsell like the top 11 Sony franchises or something like that. In the end, it's about creating something to scale and something that matters.

That's no longer the case because they failed on selling hardware and hence software in the millions. Now their strategy is all about quantity and IPs. Their strategy is now having you play something even if not a huge seller to pay the monthly fee.

Business models change
Wasn't the highlighted section due to simply having more releases from that top 4? They had 3 Halos, 4 Forza, 4 Gears games and Kinect Adventures sold 20M+ alone.

After the beating Sony has taken lately on forums lately you could say the same thing in reverse.

And it would be a never ending cycle.

I wouldn't read into it that much. I'll say exactly what I said for the Sony negative news:

If ppl wanna create narratives, let them.

Just because its not flattering news doesnt mean its the end of the world.

I thought this was obvious given what they've said about the Everwild, Fable and Perfect Dark (With avowed furthest away surely since we didnt even see that sort of speech about it, although they could just be keeping cards closer to the chest).

What is presently unknown is Bethesda ready to show and release Starfield late 2021?

Xbox will be fine with Crossfire X, Stalker 2, Halo and potentially Starfield all coming in hot after the summer. Since there all exclusives, the impact of delays will not be a big deal.

Microsoft has to show advancement with development at E3 though, CGI bull needs to stop. Some gameplay even if its short one showing off fable and Perfect dark at E3

Well, they will be good/great games I'm sure but its a bit arse if you don't like FPSes isn't it? I know Starfield is an RPG, but it will most likely be FP and tbh I don't see it coming this year anyway, since Skyrim had its first (proper) screenshots 9 months before it was released, so if they don't show screenshots of the actual game (no bullshots) or gameplay that looks reasonably real then at "E3" then I'd say they won't release it this year. I'm kinda grasping at straws but its all I have haha.

2nd bolded part: I would definitely like to see this to restore my faith that they doing more than just talking (again). Sorry, I'm not trying to dehype you just this is how I feel after the last 8 years of Xbox.

Xbox just took a beating for 8 years straight but Xbox gamers can't even enjoy a couple of months of Positive Xbox news with out the Sony shills shitting on it. There is definitely a pattern here.

Halo is out this year 😂
After the beating it took after the initial reveal, and how proud Phil was before the reveal.....if it launches this year at all would be amazing. Looking forward to it whenever it launches. Couldnt really get into any of the previous games. Dont think I tried 5 yet, cant remember.
