Did a Japanese to English Google translate for everyone:

Nintendo’s handheld game console Switch has taken advantage of the economic opportunity driven by the epidemic. It is selling well worldwide. Nintendo has taken advantage of its success and has recently begun preparations for the next-generation Switch production plan to be launched next year. It plans to introduce the most popular Mini LED display technology and come to Taiwan to find groups Chuang (3481) supplies, breaking the previous situation where the Switch was supplied by two Japanese companies, Sharp and Japan Display Corporation (JDI).

The legal person pointed out that the annual sales of Switch series models (normal version Switch + small low-cost version Switch Lite) exceed 21 million units, making it one of the most popular game consoles in the world. Innolux has received a large order for the next generation Switch, becoming the first in Taiwan Those who have entered the Switch display supply chain have not only contributed greatly to Innolux’s performance, but also meant that the innovative generation of display technology has been recognized by the industry.

Regarding Nintendo’s approach to make Innolux the first Taiwanese panel manufacturer to supply key display components for the Switch, Innolux General Manager Yang Zhuxiang did not respond positively, but he did not deny contact with Nintendo. He only revealed that "It is normal for manufacturers to visit. Thing". He emphasized that the first quarter of this year was the bottom of Innolux's operations. The second quarter heated up. The third quarter was better than the second quarter, and the fourth quarter was also good.

Industry insiders pointed out that Apple is unwilling to be constrained by Samsung’s exclusive control of the source of OLED panels and has accelerated the adoption of Mini LED technology, which has set off a trend for major brands to follow up. Nintendo’s new Switch next year will be equipped with the most advanced Mini LED display technology for the first time to improve the image quality and smoothness of the game console, while reducing battery power consumption, increasing the endurance of the console, and stimulating more buying.

Major game console manufacturers such as Microsoft and Sony generally launched new machines after the second half of the year. Nintendo Switch took advantage of its palm-sized control and convenient portability. The business opportunities brought by the epidemic were not only crazy hot sales, but also a major shortage. goods.

According to the data released by Nintendo’s latest quarterly earnings conference, as of August this year, the Switch, which has been on sale for more than three years, has sold more than 62 million units worldwide, surpassing the classic console "Red and White", becoming Nintendo’s sixth best seller in history. Host.

Nintendo took advantage of the victory, and the target Switch surpassed the 3DS with a total global sales of 75.87 million units and moved towards the company's top five best-selling game consoles, thus comprehensively strengthening the selling points of the new machine.

In the past, Switch panels were mainly supplied by two Japanese companies, Sharp and Japan Display Corporation (JDI), with IGZO technology panels. Innolux has entered the Switch game console supply chain with Mini LEDs. This will be the first time a Taiwanese manufacturer has supplied Nintendo's key panel components.

Benefited from the continued increase in panel quotations, Innolux has performed well in recent fundamentals. In September, consolidated revenue was 26.354 billion yuan, a monthly increase of 7.8% and an annual increase of 21.4%, reaching a 33-month high. Consolidated revenue in the third quarter was 74.568 billion yuan, an increase of 11.5% quarter-on-quarter and an annual increase of 17.8%, which was the highest in the past 11 quarters.

Innolux will announce its third quarter financial report on Thursday (29th). The legal person is optimistic that Innolux will turn a loss to profit in the third quarter of the single quarter. In this quarter, under the situation of TV brand factories grabbing goods, operations can still be expected. Benefiting from the improved fundamentals and the subject matter of receiving orders, Innolux's stock price returned to above 10 yuan last week, and last Friday (23rd) rose 0.15 yuan to close 10.25 yuan.

I have nothing but mixed feelings about Nintendo's pricing strategy.

Pros:
1. I get good resell value if I bother to sell my Nintendo games when I'm done with them. The challenge is actually knowing when I'm done.

Cons:
1. I don't get to experience every Nintendo game due to the prohibitive cost.

On Playstation, I have a lot of games that I paid very little or nothing for. I probably never play Horizon: Zero Dawn if it doesn't drop to $15. I've played a lot of good games on PS4 mostly because the price was right and I was bored at that moment. Conversely, I have paid full price for some games, and it can feel bad when the price is 60% off 6 months later.

I'm not a fan of the race to the bottom that Sony and third parties engage in. It's wasteful because you end up accumulating more than what you need because the games are "worth it for the price" only to wake up a year later with 18 games in the backlog that you have no interest in playing anymore.

Im happy to pay full price for some games and wait for others but now even with waiting games are becoming more and more expensive quickly, no physical option on new consoles, Nintendo only tax in my country, $70 games soon, new taxes etc.

Thats why im seriously tempted by GamePass, 🤭 as long as Capcom and Square appear

Didn't that race to the bottom kind of start with Steam? I guess the lower prices were also around for PS2/Xbox. I mean, games on non-Nintendo platforms have generally seen bigger discounts since cartridge vs CD-ROM became a battle.

My thought on this is that the race to the bottom prices have had a very meaningful and positive effect for the consumer. A lot of people no longer resort to piracy thanks to these prices. Could publishers squeeze more money out of the games? Possibly. Then again, it could cause piracy to be more widespread, and then they may really start to lose some sales if pirated copies become more accessible.

Sort of. In the short-term, absolutely. Who doesn’t want something for less?

In the long-term, I wonder how sustainable and positive it is, with prices already being jacked up to $70 for next-gen, games becoming more and more risk adverse to recoup budget, switching to GaaS, etc.

You can argue that some of these things would be happening already, but I don’t think publishers training their audience to buy at half price or under, in a short-sighted race to be competitive, is necessarily helping, or the best thing.

I paid good money for this Dynex!
what are some good 3ds games

Really depends on what you're into, but the 3DS had a lot of good games. And a lot of hidden gems. Like Stella Glow, which is a shockingly good SRPG that, despite looking weeb as hell on the surface, is a very well done game. With a Mitsuda soundtrack!

For 3D effects
  • Sega Ages
  • Shovel Knight
  • Kirby - Planet Robobot
  • Pilotwings
Other great games
  • Picross 3D
  • Wario Ware Gold
  • Phoenix Wright/Layton/Great Ace Attorney games
  • Yokai Watch 3
  • Theatrhythm Final Fantasy - Curtain Call

Obviously can't go wrong with anything Mario or Zelda related either. I wouldn't go too crazy with lengthy games unless you have the time.

Even before reading all the comments supporting it, Link Between Worlds was in my head.

It’s

1: A fantastic game. I don’t know which one is better, but that we actually have debates between this and A Link to the Past, says it all. Nintendo tapped into a (at the time) twenty year old vibe, like they never left, but with two decades more experience. It’s just so immediately fun, amazingly polished, and well designed. It also has an absolutely wonderful old-school styled/modern fidelity soundtrack.

2: Another 3D showpiece. The sense of height in this game can be truly daunting, and they do all kinds of fun things with the 3D presentation.

Branded by your misdeeds is right. That some sacrilege right there. Going to put you on ignore for talking about A Link to the Past like that.

Folks have latched on to Peony partially because he’s a rebellious character who at one point was even the League champion, sure. And it’s endearing to watch Peony interact with his daughter, Peonia. But what’s stuck out the most to fans going through the DLC is that, should you gain Peony’s rare League card, the description curiously notes that he has many fans, “especially among men.”

Certainly, Peony is being treated as a queer idol in the real world. It probably helps that Peony is rugged and attractive, which means his visage lends itself easily to “bara” art that depicts him in, shall we say, compromising situations. If you search for Peony right now, in other words, there’s a very good chance you’ll find porn.

People really love ruin things for others I see...

Look I’mma just come out and say it: ALBW is better than ALTTP.

ALTTP was my third Zelda game (Link’s Awakening first, OoT second) so maybe that has something to do with it, but it’s the only Zelda game I’ve beaten that I have yet to go back to and beat again. It was a chore and I’m glad ALBW bothered to take that map and put a game that was actually fun in there

I need Metroid Prime 4 come on Nintendo 😔

You go to finally see your favorite band / artist's concert after all these years of wanting to see a live show of theirs and it turns out the closing performer(s) canceled last second. This is who steps in to save the night

So, I have my Switch for like one year now and I gotta say that I love it. Never been a Nintendo fan (started with Xbox, then went with PS, and now only own a Switch), besides the Pokemon craze when I was a kid, but this little console is so damn charming.

Love Fire Emblem, LOVE BOTW, Bayonetta 1 was good but I'm struggling to continue Bayonetta 2. Now I bought Xenoblade Chronicles 1 month ago and I'm so damn shit at the game. I play on casual mode but still get stuck in some fights.

Anyway, hellooooo NintendoGAF. Good to be back to this forum. Looking forward to Metroid Prime Trilogy and Prime 4, whenever that releases...

if it isn't cancelled already
