From that list
  • Fire Emblem Engage - January 20
  • Persona 3P - Jan Something
  • Like a Dragon Ishin - February 21
  • Octopath Traveler 2 - February 24
  • Wo Long - March 3
  • Legend of Zelda: TotK - May 12
  • Diablo 4 - June 6
  • Final Fantasy 16 - June 22nd
Other games that in theory will be out in H1 2023
  • Starfield
  • Replaced
  • The Last Case of Benedict Fox
  • The Expanse: A Telltale Series
There are obviously more for H2 but haven't added them.

Jan: Deadspace on series x (EA play discount), Forspoken

Feb: Hogwarts Legacy, Wild Hearts (EA Discount again), Atomic Heart (Gamepass)

March: Wo Long (Gamepass), Resident Evil 4, Jedi Survivor

Feels like being in 2017 again.

After watching all the release dates announced during The Game Awards I had to put together a quick list of just the games that are coming in the first half of 2023 and my wallet is already screaming at me:
  • Fire Emblem Engage - January 20
  • Forspoken - January 24
  • Dead Space - January 27
  • Hogwarts Legacy - February 10
  • Wild Hearts - February 17
  • Atomic Heart - February 21
  • Like a Dragon Ishin - February 21
  • PSVR 2 and games - February 22
  • Octopath Traveler 2 - February 24
  • Destiny 2: Lightfall - February 28
  • Wo Long - March 3
  • TLoU PC - March 3
  • Skull and Bones - March 9
  • Resident Evil 4 - March 24
  • Jedi Survivor - March 17
  • Bayonetta Origins - March 17
  • Crime Boss - March 28
  • SMB Movie - April 7
  • HFW: Burning Shores DLC - April 19
  • Dead Island 2 - April 28

  • Suicide Squad: KtJL - May 26
  • Street Fighter 6 - June 2
  • Diablo 4 - June 6
  • Final Fantasy 16 - June 22nd
  • Returnal PC - Early 2023

I'm sure I'm missing a bunch so I apologize in advance if I missed some good ones.

I do feel a bit worried that I'm just going to skip over some amazing games because I only have so many hours in the day. What does everyone think?

Don't worry!... lot of those games will get delayed.

I think Starfield, TotK and Hogwarts are going to be massive. I’ll try Wo Long too. No doubt it’s a stacked year, and the most exciting year for a long time IMO.

Supposedly we are getting Starfield and Redfall in the first half of 2023 as well right. Ms will sound the crunch horn.
Then later in the year its Spiderman 2 (pretty much locked since its insomniac), Alan Wake 2 (maybe) and Baldurs Gate 3.

I always see posts like these and then don’t even know half the games listed, and only one or two I will even play.

Probably any time is insane to be a gamer if your tastes align with what it on the horizon.

Nice! But list is missing Forza Motorsport 8, Starfield and Redfall which MS confirmed for 1st half of 2023. So with those, it looks like my wallet will be wide open...

Yeah I skipped a bunch with no dates or announcements last night. I was genuinely surprised we got no dates from Microsoft.

  • Starfield - Early 2023

I need to be rich. Not so I can buy these games, but so I can spend some quality time gaming.

Represent.

Represent(ative) of bad opinions
Looks worse than 2022.

Only game on that list that sparks my interest is the Horizon DLC.

Too many Japanese games, not my style

Hype level through the roof. List by hype level:

RE4 Deluxe - Day 1. That OG soundtrack swap is going to awesome, love that it's 70 for the deluxe. Capcom being charitable.
Atomic Heart - Gamepass! Low risk. Hope it's more Bioshock and less eurojank.
Jedi Survivor - Day 1. First one was fantastic and I am definitely interested to see where they go with it.
Starfield - Gamepass! Low risk again. The formula was looking real thin with Fallout 4 and adding in elements of No Man's Sky doesn't inspire much confidence for me.

only interested in Hogwarts, Zelda, and Diablo.

Will also pick up Forza 8 and Starfield whenever they come out. As for TLOU i'm not really up for replaying it but whenever it goes on sale I might pick it up for the sake of it.

I joked with someone the other day that 2022 is like the year that never happened. However, there were some great releases. But 2023...wow, it's all coming back!

Starfield is MIA -Missing in Audit

I'm going to buy Diablo 4 seeing as I no longer believe it's ever coming to game pass,
Then Hogwarts. This looks like a nice lose yourself in type of game.
At some point I'm queuing up Atomic Heart because I need to play this crazy looking thing.

We do this same song and dance every year -- when it comes down to it, probably 1/3 of these games will be delayed, and another 1/3 will actually come out but be disappointing.

As a Zelda and Final Fantasy fan it's great to have two mainline releases penciled in though. I hope both come out on time and both deliver.
