Because it looks cooler and family oriented rather than edgy emo teenage stuff like playstation console.

It's been the case for a while, Hybrid could sell 100K a week in the lead up to Monster Hunter Rise, but retailers are stockpiling for the big launch.
Hardware could very well hit 1 million between April and May, between Monster Hunter Rise Week 2 sales, Pokemon Snap & Golden Week, Rune Factory 5, so heading into June we would match last year's H1 Result. If there is plentiful stock with this consistent line up for the spring/summer demand will be maintained. I'm sure we can maintain above 90K through out June & July heading into Obon. There is Pokemon Snap, Rune Factory 5, Mario Golf, Skyward Sword HD, SMTV, MH Stories 2, Baseball Spirits, Shin Kun that are all games coming out after Rise keeping momentum going this summer. Compare that to 2020, and keep in mind that there is going to be a lot more games launching after June that are not yet revealed.

New Releases April to September:
  1. Clubhouse Games: 51 Worldwide Classics (June) - 654.740
  2. Super Mario 3D All-Stars (September) - 568.992
  3. Paper Mario: The Origami King (July) - 294.697
  4. eBaseball Powerful Pro Baseball 2020 (July) - 269.648
  5. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition (May) - 142.710
  6. One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4 (March) - 137.513
  7. Human: Fall Flat (June) - 124.843
  8. Trials of Mana (May) - 112.277
  9. Minecraft Dungeons: Hero Edition (September) - 76.784
  10. Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Remastered Edition (August) - 64.687
TOTAL: 2.446.891
TOTAL HARDWARE: 2.253.733

This week's numbers are going to be rough, below 70K seems like a likely outcome for the Switch, Lite will probably be over 50% of Switch sales for a change no supply problems with that model. The likely outcome is the lowest week so far this year beating out Week 7 which had 74.298 sales but with only 25K Lite sales. To me Hybrid model below 30K is very likely for this week considering all the shortages and constant demand.

So are ps5 sales going to be cratering due to the lack of supply? Will series X actually win a week? Upcoming numbers should be something.

EverydayBeast

thinks Halo Infinite is a new graphical benchmark
You can spread out a console over years as Sony has shown and sales may be good but at some point Nintendo has to embrace a traditional console.

One thing i learnt from COMG chart is Playstation SKU were overrepresented vs Nintendo SKU when it comes to preorder points.
