Famitsu Sales: 5/30/22 – 6/5/22

Famitsu has published its estimated physical game software and hardware sales data for Japan for the week of May 30, 2022 to June 5, 2022.

The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie: Five Memories of My Time with You from MAGES. was the highest selling new release, moving 21,440 units on Switch and 9,029 units on PlayStation 4 for an opening week total of 30,469 retail copies sold.

On the hardware side, the Switch family sold 60,122 units, the PlayStation 5 family sold 28,583 units, the Xbox Series family sold 11,573 units, and the PlayStation 4 family sold 21 units. Next-generation consoles continue to face stock issues.

Will update later, but think its like the highest or second highest week for xbox also sadly think PS5 is back slightly behind the PS4 when aligned.
 
actually surprised that the series consoles are selling this much over there. They must be doing something right in regards to getting the word out/marketing over there.

I thought ps5 has been behind ps4 launch aligned in Japan. Or maybe I'm forgetting how poorly ps4 started in Japan due to the delayed launch there.

PS5 selling hardware but no software.
Game store retail space is shrinking and shrinking for the thing.. but hey xbox cant even get shelf space at all..

Congratulations Xbox. Doing phenomenally well, considering the history of the brand.

Probably because of lack of PS5 availability if I were guessing.
They're getting shipped off to other Asian regions. Xbox is still irrelevant in Japan. Same is happening with pat although obviously it's in demand in Japan too.

28k is good stock this week. Hopefully they can increase it. They need at least 50k weekly. And obviously that's factoring those to be scalped abroad.
